Unfortunately, it ended up being a total bust. While they carry a lot of variety, all their stuff is branded with Roots (go figure) rather than with 'Canada'. Some of their stuff is alright, but the majority of it is far too 'lumberjack' for my tastes. The service was OK, the selection was decent, but I just couldn't find anything I liked enough to bring back home with me.

Regardless of the Loonie - US Dollar exchange rate, I also find Roots stuff to be a bit dear price wise. That's why the Outlet stores (I've been to the ones in both Calgary and Edmonton) are worth checking out first. This particular Roots just happened to have some nice sales when I was there, so their great and stylish selection of clothes and accessories were even more tempting this time around.

I even discussed with a salesperson what an amazing deal it was who concurred with me. At the till that price would quadruple. When I pointed out they had their in-store pricing much lower they told me to pound sand.
