They opened the fitting room for my sister and five minutes before the store was closing they started harassing my sister and parents to leave the store because it was closing. We were not planning on staying longer than the closing time but they were kind of making us feel super bad and made us walk all around on the outside of the mall to our car. The old lady was especially rude and I would even go to say they were both racist. Kept repeating the mall is closed like we didn't understand English. Super disappointed and never shopping at the Mic Mac Hudson Bay because of this experience.

First, this is like walking into a fairytale with some of these dresses. They had such a large variety, I was shocked. There was young girls trying on these beautiful gowns. Each dress was so full of personality, of course they all looked beautiful. I am not sure someone can look bad in these dresses. When you put one one, you just feel like a princess. The Long Version: Elsie's used to be in one of those colourful row homes along Queen St (it was at 1530 Queen St). That location was on multiple levels and was incredibly cramped. It had a bohemian feel and reminded me of all the vintage shops in Kensington Market (in Toronto) circa 1990s. I would go to that location every time I visited Halifax. On my most recent visit in September 2024, I went there to see the store was closed and all the colourful row homes along there had signs in the window warning of asbestos and only authorized personnel were allowed to enter. It looked like they were going to tear the buildings down for redevelopment. I was so disappointed, and took out my trusted phone to see when they closed. To my delight, I discovered they reopened on Grafton St and I immediately headed over. Their new location is inside the building that used to be St. Mary's School for Boys. It's much larger so the shop is actually spacious now and not cramped at all. The feel now is more contemporary consignment shop, similar to the ones in Westboro (in Ottawa) of the 2010s to present day. They have luxury brands now. I saw a Chanel purse for close to 10K. They had Gucci too. However, they have more accessible brands in the $40 range as well. I spoke with staff there and they told me they moved to this new location in April 2024. We did some shopping here recently to check out some stores such as HMV, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, Sony Style, and The Source At Circuit City. MicMac is a good size mall, but it was very crowded inside on a Saturday morning and we had to park way out in East Bumf--k. Anyways, we spent a good 90 minutes shopping here. I picked up a few things on sale at Old Navy and Winners and had a good cup of coffee at Perks. Next stop for us was, Downtown Halifax for an afternoon of chill time.

They have a really good selection of jeans and the stretchy quality makes them fit tight but they are still comfortable. The jeans are approximately $70 but they had some on sale for $35 and $50. The jeans go by waist size and length so you have a better idea of how they fit before you try them on. The sales associate, Roxanne, was quite helpful too. I will return here for some good deals.
