There are over 34 miles of walking trails and if you go on their website www.crpa.net you can see a listing of their vast and varied organized activities all of which cost the residents of Cherokee county next to nothing to participate.... They have activities such as life guard training by a Red Cross instructor to kayaking at sunrise to dog walking gatherings. There are also special activities designed especially for those over 55 including road trips and hiking activities... The park covers about 470 acres and can be divided into 4 sections Tennis playground with pavallion softball field 6 athletic fields for rent There is a walking trail that I didn't realize that was there until one day I saw someone walking there... Looks like Cherokee County's parks are starting to rival some of the bigger towns around like Roswell and even Atlanta...watch out guys...here we come....

It is very smart marketing but you should probably realize that your company's performance may be judged by the dog Park's quality. And with that said, they probably spent more on the signs than they did on the actual dog park. It is a couple hundred feet long and probably 20 to 30 ft wide. The day we were there it was mostly just a mud field. But it does have multiple poop bag dispensers as well as trash cans and it has a couple of fire hydrants. It has quite a few agility items in one area as well as a bench or two for you to sit on. Other than that it's mostly just scorched Earth. But it is a dog park and it does have a very nice memorial right next to it.

This park was great! *Playground for toddlers age 2-5 *Playground for bigger kids age 5-12 *Gated dog park * Volleyball net on the field *Human sized checkers board to play *Pavillion with tables *Bathrooms *Paved walking trail loop *Parking in front lower lot (small sidewalk hill to walk up), handicap parking only at flat, top level (few spots), and then another parking lot in the back of park- down another paved path- not sure which street reaches that lot. Playgrounds were great. Many kids and families out, many dogs being walked and playing in dog park. Many people walking/ jogging, teens/ young adults playing volleyball. I was happily surprised to see how diverse the crowd was for Adairsville! Maybe I'm ignorant to that, but I used to see little diversity there-- maybe things are changing. But as a kid of mixed nationalities, and someone who grew up in a diverse place, I love to see it becoming the norm in smaller towns. Anywho, we enjoyed this park! Had a good amount of families on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of kids to play with. It was good to find a spot that brought the community together. This park is dog friendly but they need to be leashed. There are a couple of baseball fields and a small playground area. I'd love to see a few more trees planted near the parking lot because it is the least shaded area. Worth a visit or two

Directions: to get here you want to take I-575 N to exit 24 (Airport Dr.) and then go east. You'll see signs for Cherokee county. At Ball Ground highway make a left. Go about a mile and you'll see East Cherokee Dr. Make a right. The park is about 2 and a half miles on the right. Hope you'll visit...it's a bit secluded so it's pretty peaceful....

This is an interesting park that you can find at the foot of the Allatoona Lake damn on the Etowah…read moreriver. It's also the on the edge of the former town of Etowah and the home of Cooper's Furnace - a huge truncated-pyramid of stacked, mortared stone originally used to smelt iron ore. The furnace is still standing but now cordoned off - also, while it's apparent that visitors could at one time get closer to the Allatoona Damn, on this day the road and access to that part of the park was blocked-off with no trespassing signs (it's unclear if on other days the area is accessible or not, we visited on the day after Thanksgiving). The area is lush with vegetation and includes a pavilion, play-area with one of those crazy jungle gyms, bathrooms, fixed barbecue boxes and picnic tables. It's a surprisingly large park that's only open for day visits so no camping. It's also a bit weird to access - you get off of i85 South of the park then travel first West, then North to get under the highway. Next you travel a road alongside the Etowah river to get to the park itself with is East of i85. Once in the park make sure you checkout the trails and overlook - we were just scoping it out and plan a return to walk the trails - on this day we weren't in the right shoes or clothing. It's apparently a pretty good fishing spot too so make use you bring your pole.
