They, like every business at this point in time, are short staffed. They said this on the phone when I called before I went in. It's also peak Covid season, so I understand a wait. Not an issue. When we got there, we waited 10-15 mins before anyone even acknowledged we were standing in line - there was no one in front of us. Right in front of the reception desk. 1 person behind us. Person behind us charges up to the reception desk and they process her, while we stand there. Reception sees us realizes the lady jumped ahead of us and still we wait 10 mins more before they even acknowledged us to come up to the desk. I asked if we were not supposed to follow the instructions of staying behind the sign. One of the people said no, the other lady who jumped the line was different. Uhm WHAT? We proceed to fill out paperwork and go back to the car to wait. Again, let me emphasis - I realize there was going to be a wait, but if you literally make eye contact with us 5 times at least say , " hi we will be right with you." We were seen before the estimated 1-2 hr wait, triage nurse was super nice and Dr was as well. So the actual visit that was the purpose of being there was pleasant, thorough and as quick as possible to get us in and out of there. Couldn't complain a bit about that part. Had to take off stars for the rudeness at the check-in in the beginning. Otherwise, I can't say anything bad about the actual appointment and treatment/care portion. read more

Just like I have anticipated I have been billed 69.35 for a Covid Test in the name of a Doctor or a business man by the name of Douglas E Sloan DO and as I reviewed before I never saw a Doctor neither I requested one and yet they are trying to collect when Covid testing is free throughout the US. I got roped by these sneaky scammers but will forward the bill to The South Carolina Consumer Affairs and let them fight it. Don't trust this hospital and will never ever set foot there again. I am very disappointed with the care my son, a nearly three year old boy, received at Roper today. My son woke up from his nap today with a fever, so naturally I thought to take him to be seen by a physician (especially given the fact I have mono currently). Unfortunately, I drove to two different MUSC After Hours clinics and both of them stopped accepting patients for the day. The staff at the front desk were all polite and helpful, and triage nurse/medical assistant was also fantastic. The front desk staff and the medical assistant are the whole reason I am giving a 2 star review instead of a 1 star review. Let me add, I took my son in to be seen later in the day past 7pm. I wanted to get him tested for mono and that was it. The physician (the main provider on 4/8) seemed to be acting abrasively and impatiently with my son. If I am not mistaken, I do not think he introduced himself, he hardly asked about the symptoms my son was having, it truly seemed like he did not care. Based off of what I saw today compared to care my son and I have both received in the past, this is not typical for healthcare providers. Moreover, when he went to check my sons throat and mouth, he pretty much pried my sons mouth open while the medical assistant and I were holding him down on the exam table. He really did not take much time at all with examining my son. I asked only for my son to be tested for mono, as I have mono, and the physician had him tested for strep, covid, and the flu on top of the mono tests. This is a lot of testing for a poor child who is not feeling well. Instead of taking his time with my child, it seems as if he was rushing through the exam with my son. I understand it is the end of the day, but as a mother I expect my child to receive better care than seeming like they are just trying to push people out of the door. I was and am genuinely concerned about my son being sick. However, it seems as if the physician was just looking for a diagnosis to give him. I would not recommend this Roper Express Care location to anyone, but especially not to parents with younger children. This situation left a bad taste in my mouth and I am appalled. read more

The website doesn't specify that they stop doing labs at 1:00 on Saturdays. I just read a similar awful reveiew that they don't do labs on Sundays. This is an example of a medical facility that operates in the mindset of a business and doesn't put any concideration for the patients. read more

Roper St. Francis Express Care on Ladson Road in Summerville is a great and efficient place to stop for medical attention if you need something close by. They make everything quick and easy if you help right away. I have had a good experience in the times that I have been here. read more

I've literally been waiting to be seen for over 2 hours. I got into a car accident and need to be checked out because I'm extremely dizzy and lightheaded as well as having severe nausea. They seem in no rush to help me whatsoever. I came here because it is an EXPRESS care but I would have had better luck just going to the ER. This is absolutely ridiculous. Update: I was seen by a NP who literally googled concussion symptoms and printed me out a web md page and told me if I felt worse to go to the emergency room. So unprofessional. So long of a wait. My little one jammed her finger at gymnastics and I took her in to make sure it wasn't broken around 7:30pm. The staff was AMAZING! So nice and kind. They really went above and beyond to explain everything and made us feel so comfortable. I'm someone who is very picky with providers and I was so impressed with this facility. read more

Went in saying that I thought I may be dehydrated but I can't keep down enough fluids to come out of it and that I thought I may need an IV. Three hours later I was told that I need an IV but they don't employ nurses, just technicians who aren't qualified to to IVs. They gave me a bottle of water with electrolytes and said to go to ER if it doesn't get better. I wasted three hours and who knows how much medical bills. read more

This has become my after-hours go to for both medical and laboratory services. I have been multiple times, including once in an emergent situation. They are fast, efficient, and provide top quality care to address your symptoms. Since learning I can have my lab work done here, even on weekends, this is my lab of choice. Helps that they are in my insurance network. Everyone from the front desk to med techs to providers to lab personnel have been nothing short of professional, appropriately concerned, and efficient without rushing. I don't think I have seen the same provider twice, and the quality of care has been excellent. The phlebotomist I have seen twice now and she gets the vein every time and without any pain. This is the nicest walk in I've been to in a while. Clean facility. Everyone was kind and friendly. I hobbled in with my 2 yr old and a swollen knee and was seen in 15 minutes. I saw an actual MD that time. Went another time and saw an equally knowledgeable PA. read more

Went in for what I thought to be some type of infection based upon my symptoms of nasal congestion, nasal discoloration, and sore throat. After a $50 co-pay, I was told I had allergies... I went on this specific day because I was about to begin a 6 day work week having 17 and 18 hour days. You have allergies...no prescriptions were given...only told to take over counter allergy meds... That same night my eyes began sealing shut from gunk... In the middle of my 6 day work week, I called and explained my symptoms, but was told I would need to come in...I was wanting something called in to a pharmacy I could grab on the way to work. Nope...was told I need to come back in for a re-evaluation (co-pay). So now, I'm sicker than I was. I'm now unable to get the meds needed to get over whatever I have due to my work schedule Thanks roper... This was my final visit. read more

Because calling you to let you know that we actually looked at the xray and it looked good would be just way too much trouble for us. Also if you have any problems with the medicine we prescribled feel to free to make another appt. and pay for another visit because we can sure use the money. Sprained my ankle while running... no wheelchair given to me to be brought back to an exam room... it took a long time to be seen... the X-ray tech acted over worked and angry with her co workers. I paid my full bill up front because I do not have insurance... I was told I had a $0 balance. Two months later I am getting bills in the mail from that same visit and I'm being told they are separate bills from the visit. Roper is ripping people off who don't have insurance! Never again will I return to any Roper hospital! read more
