I will NEVER shop here again. I purchased a cardigan on December 18 for my mom for Christmas. The next day she got hospitalized for COVID and she passed away January 11. I ATTEMPTED to return the cardigan today (January 25) and was told there was nothing they could do for me even though I explained the situation and that I had been out of town helping my dad with the funeral arrangements. The girl was completely cold and didn't even explain this to the manager when she called. This is sickening to me that a LOCALLY owned store wouldn't have more sympathy and just give me my $40 back so I don't have to look at this cardigan and be reminded of who it was for. read more

The main point of this review is to point out the intimidation tactics this company used when I tried to make a case for a return*** I've never written a review before, but the policies and practices of this business are deplorable, and I want to discourage support for them. I purchased a dress for a daughter graduating out of state. The only one left was on a mannequin; the 3 girls helping me were very friendly, bubbly and kind. I explained why I was buying it, inquired about the return policy and was assured returning would be no problem with the receipt. I was then more impressed when an employee pointed out that there was a hook missing and the dress was dirty (I couldn't see any dirt without my glasses on), which is why it was used for display. She offered to give me a 20% discount, but said I then wouldn't be able to return it. I turned down the discount and stated that I was purchasing several dresses so that my daughter could pick one when I arrived in CO the morning of grad. I also asked if there were any stores located where my daughter attended college, but there weren't. The employee assured me a return would be no problem at all and said she'd write a note stating the problems with dress right on the receipt. I asked an employee if the dirt would be an issue and she waved her hand and said it was normal, that girls get makeup on them all the time. The next day, I had my daughter meet me in the hotel suite, try all of the dresses on, and pick one. The choice from this store had an odd slip liner with the bottom of the slip creating a thick line across the crotch area- weird design - so she didn't choose it, & the dress went straight back into the bag and into the suitcase. As soon as I returned to Tennessee, I tried to return the dress: the assistant manager denied the return for being "dirty", denied my telling of the promises by her employees when I purchased the dress, took over thirty minutes of my time while she repeatedly called her manager in the back room, took pictures, etc... I believe in standing my ground when a business is in the wrong and did so while attempting to help her understand that which she was having a hard time grasping regarding the claims of the employees, the dress, practices, etc. During that time, I caught her in 4 lies: the discussion ran the gamut from the poor girl claiming they wouldn't have a dirty dress on display, but then forgetting that claim and stating that she knew the dress didn't have a different mark (VERY OBVIOUSLY made by a security tag they had removed) on its back because she was the one who put the dress on the mannequin and it only had makeup stains when she did(!!!) ...to claiming she couldn't check my "story" with the original employee because said employee got a better job elsewhere, then forgetting what she said and stating that the employee got promoted within the company... and it went on. I've never spent more than a few minutes in this manner, however my youngest was witnessing this learning experience in part, so I tried to reason with the woman by treating her as her position as a "manager" would dictate. I did however become (internally) infuriated when I realized that the employee had secretly called security including at least one armed police officer and 2-3 undercover security officers. At first, I thought they were there to talk to a friend. When I realized they were there because of me, I couldn't believe it. I never once approached the situation in a way that would even come close to warranting a second glance from the most timid of people let alone needing support of ANY kind. I did not look very well put together as I returned from the trip ill, took the day off, threw on a hat and started to run errands I never have time for, even more proof that I thought and intended for this to be a quick trip. I had no intention of creating an uncomfortable situation for myself or anyone else, and don't see why anyone would think calling security would help resolve a problem to begin with unless there was danger. The only possible reason this company may have a practice such as calling armed police when someone is debating a return has to be INTIMIDATION. Using intimidation to support extremely poor business practice is not only ridiculous, but it deserves to be known. In the end, I did feel very intimidated and humiliated by the police presence, while still questioning that they were really there for me. The only policeman I've ever known is kind, intelligent and reasonable, but I've never been in a position like this in my 50 years. I am ashamed to say I left with the dress and a promise that the manager would contact me the next day (which never happened). read more

I so wish I could give 0 stars! My wife recently purchased some clothes at the Dayton mall location and needed to return them, so I said I would return for her as I work in the Liberty Center area. Imagine my surprise when the folks at the location at Liberty Center said "no." The girl told me I couldn't return as I bought them at a different location. While your policy does state that, it sure in the hell isn't clear. And by the way, there is not any other retailer in the world that has multiple stores with the same name, who had a policy like that. read more

I LOVE R&R! Whether it is the Hyde park, Anderson, or Lebanon store the quality of the items never disappoint. Last weekend I went to the Lebanon location and found lots of beautiful items for our home. Yes, items may seem a little more pricey than going to Home Goods, etc BUT it's because you are paying for handmade wooden/rustic signs. They also have a new store down the street from R&R in Lebanon called "curve and cloth" (same owners). They have clothing for curvier women and it's a great selection. read more

Terrible return policy and vague if any exchange policy. I tried to exchange a couple items less than 30 days from purchase. Since the receipt states no returns after 10, yes 10 days, I thought perhaps a store credit/exchange would surely be honored. Nope! And to top it off the store manager was a bit threatening. He said he would give me store credit for 40% of the item's value since it is no longer on the floor (again less than 30 days)! My first visit was to the Liberty Center location was okay, some cute clothes but not a very friendly staff. I decided I wanted to go back and get the shirt I tried on and had to call each store separately to see if they had it because they don't have a system or a way to contact the other stores? I ended ordering the shirt off of their website. Unfortunately, it didn't fit so I needed to return it. In order to return online purchases, you have to ship it back to them, you have to pay for a $5.00 shipping label in addition to the first-class shipping packaging. Best Rose and Remington location that I have been to - definitely beats out the one in Liberty Center in selection and in service. Their clothes are definitely more on the girly/trendy side so if this isn't your style, this probably is not the place for you. I have found some great pieces here and they always have a pretty good sale section. Their clothes range from about $30-$70 but in their sale section, I have found good pieces for less than $20. Highly recommend coming here and check out the other shops on this road too because they are all in the same company as Rose and Remington. read more

I have never written a bad review for a business...this is my first. I agree with Kristen W. & Lauren A. The customer service leaves much to be desired. After purchasing at least 6 different pieces within a month of each other, 2 of the tops fell apart. One ripped at many of it's seams, while the other ripped in half while zipping it up for the first time. I did not have a receipt for one of the purchases...I was happy with the style and fit, and threw it away. (BTW, one of the sales people recognized me and mentioned I had been in quite recently) At first, the manager said "without a receipt there is nothing I can do." When I pushed back a little and reminded him that 2 of the tops I bought fell apart, one without even a single wearing, he said, well, I can "give you a deal on another purchase." So, I would have to purchase yet another piece? This was the best he was willing to do. I have since had one more of the tops I bought come apart at the seams. The manager clearly does not set customer satisfaction as a priority, or stand behind store merchandise. I will not go back. What a shame...I would have been a return customer and given them a second chance had I not been treated this way. read more

Horrible customer service here, was visiting downtown Lebenon for the first time and super excited with the history and quaint little stores till I came upon this one. We walked in, and looked around, very cute looking store, but not one person acknowledged our presence. My daughter wears this type of clothing and had planned on getting her some outfits, but rather received no acknowledgment and even stood in front of the cash register and the ladies there looked down as if there were staying busy so they couldn't help us. I felt for the first time I was being profiled for my skin color. I'd like to think it wasn't so, but no other reason not to acknowledge a person who is clearing walking through your store, with my husband who is 7ft and no one knows you are there... I have never had any problems with the return process there, but it is probably because we've always been happy with the purchases made. (plus if it was past the return date, we wouldn't have wasted time trying to make the return) The whole experience there was great. I normally get kidnapped by my girlfriend, go shopping, and am crabby by the time we get home. This time was a whole different experience. I wouldn't even give this store one star. I used to go to the store all the time. They used to have such a welcoming staff, besides the owners. Every time I go in there the owner and her daughter never seem to bother to notice customers walking in. i have always had a bad interaction with the owners. The daughter of the owner dresses so unprofessional, she wear crocs with yoga pants, and always has her hair in a messy bun. She looks like she just rolled out of bed. This is very unprofessional in my opinion considering that they own a clothing store. As mentioned in the other reviews, the return policy is so strange. I got a shirt for Christmas from a family member, since all of their clothes run small, and it didn't fit. I tried to return the shirt, I had the receipt, but since I didn't return it within the amount of time then I couldn't return it. It had never even been worn and still had the tags on it. Complete waste of money. There prices are ridiculous and there clothes are starting to get cheap. They are thin and cheap looking, if I'm going to spend $50-$60 on one shirt then I want a little better quality. I wouldn't recommend coming to this store to anyone. I have also noticed with my multiple visits that there staff changes quite frequently. When I go in there, especially to a family owned business, I don't want to see the staff change all of the time. This store has new clothes in all the time- each time I come in to shop there are new arrivals and new mannequin outfits. The jewelry is a bit overwhelming because of the amount, but if you take the time to look through it, it's all very pretty at great prices. While I love the atmosphere and home goods/jewelry selection...I have to give this place one star. As mentioned in other reviews, the return policy is outrageous. You can't return jewelry, or receive a store credit for it. You can only exchange jewelry within the 10 day return window. When you buy items they should, at the very least, tell you this. Or at least post some kind of sign so you are aware before purchase, not afterward when you read the receipt. Not only does this silly policy make absolutely no sense, the staff doesn't either. I'm typically a very patient/non-judgmental person, but the staff couldn't have been more ditzy and slow to process my purchase. Even the manager was confused and ditzy. And because of this, they couldn't communicate effectively, considerately, or efficiently. I had to literally explain my situation several times, and it wasn't complicated in any way! Terrible customer service and questionable quality. The only reason that I can think of to have a 10 day return policy is because they know the quality of the clothing is terrible. In 10 days, a person may not even wear an article of clothing purchased to know if it needs to be returned. I purchased a top made of a soft material. I wore it once, never washed it, and the material was literally falling apart. It looked too bad to even wear around the house. I tried to return the shirt along with two other brand new items that still had the tags on them. I was told that they would give me store credit less 20%. Any store that stands behind their merchandise offers a generous return policy. Think Zappos, Nordstrom, etc. Customer service and quality are the cornerstones of good business. R&R has a good idea but unless they wake up and realize this, it will be a short-lived novelty of a business. It saddens me to have to write this negative review. I typically enjoy visiting and shopping in the R&R stores, however while visiting Florence,Kentucky I visited the location off of Mall Road and was astounded by the lack of customer service. I do not make it a point ever to pull a race card, but when it seems blatant then I play my hand. I was in the store for 20 minutes with no greeting or offer for help as both employees walked by me numerous times. One employee was hanging a few items and the other was assisting someone at the register so I waited for both of them to complete their tasks and still not so much as a hello. It was stunning to observe as they waited on others get dressing rooms or at the register. While they were both standing together I voiced my utter dismay at their sheer lack of customer service right after I placed the items back on the rack that I was going to purchase. I've met the owner and I hope she reads this and opts to educate her employees on customer service 101 for ALL customers. 20 minutes is quite a while to be in a store that's not that busy and no one offers to help you or even says hello. I drove to this location from Cincinnati because I heard that they carry Trollbeads. I couldn't find them in the store and finally had to ask if they had them. The sales clerk said they were downstairs with the homegoods. Not sure why as all the rest of the jewelry is upstairs on the main floor. I found a small case with some of the beads and bracelets near the stairs. After looking at the case for a while I had to find a sales clerk to find out if that was all the beads they had. Her reply was, "No, there are more in the drawers underneath, but it's too hard to open them so what did you want?". There were several beads I was interested in so I told her pearls. She pulled out a catalog and went page by page looking for the pearls until she found them. She said they didn't have any because the items that they had in stock had a sticker next to them in the catalog. I didn't have all day for her to go through the entire catalog. The minimum cost of a Trollbead bracelet starts at about $1,000 and if a Trollbead dealer won't show the beads they will never make any money selling them. I'm sure the Trollbead company wouldn't like they way they are doing business with their merchandise and I plan on making them aware of this. They lost a lot of money today by not pulling out the beads so that I could look at them! read more
