Vet stated,if Mt Sinai had taken him in would have only need antibiotic. Became major issue cost me $3000. and he had to stay over night. My daughter and her child did not have this kind of money.. But, as Grandmother was not going to let my grandchilds kitten die. IV hydration and antibiotic..$3000 because kitten had not been seen at Mt Sinai. When I called, for emergency appoint as a client.... MISTREATMENT of my pom..Mis DX. ..Can't be bothed to see my other kitten. Ended up critical. Dr. Sagel is wonderful, the entire staff is as a matter of fact. It's clear they care more about our babies' welfare than how much money they make. They are all so kind and show such care, it's immediately obvious they are a great group of people. I planned to switch from our old vet in Islip to Jefferson when we adopted our newest puppy, but our older girl Holly was the first to visit when she developed a bad cough. Throughout it, Dr. Sagel & the supporting staff has been wonderful. Everything was explained and they broke down costs for all her treatments before performing anything and never pressured us into anything. Holly even seems to like it there, each visit while she's nervous at first, soon as a tech mentions her name, she would let out a bark to say "hey that's me" and has been actually happy during exams. I also love that they see lots of different type of animals - we have ducks, cats, guinea pigs and small birds, I'm happy we can bring them all here instead of having to go to three different animal hospitals like we used to.

Dr Brian is amazing, Lilith had to get a sonogram and Dr Brian wanted it to be read by a specific Cardiologist he said he would even wait an extra day if needed be because he felt he was an extremely experienced and reputable Cardiologist but what he said afterwards was so comforting he said "I want this Doctor because now I consider Lilith MY cat" I felt so reassured that whatever I had to deal with I knew she was getting the best possible care. I had many questions after the diagnosis and Dr Brian returned my call that day and explained in detail everything I needed to know. To make matters more difficult, George is absolutely terrified of having his nails cut. It's always been a stressful experience for him.
