THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!! I called to make an appointment and they gave me 4 options for the next day. I was all set to go. 15 minutes later they called me and said sorry we have no appointments bring him to emergency after booking my appointment. Not to mention the last time I brought my dog there they brought my dog in the other room and heard them hitting and abusing him. Never go to this place. This place is a waste of time. I made an appointment for my dog to have a bath and a nail trim I did make them aware she did have a cough (she had it back in may when they gave her a bath) they said no problem she needs to be seen first ok no problem at all I'll pay for the exam and anything else (she has been going there for a few years) upon arriving they told my husband they don't do baths any longer (even though I just made the appt 2 days ago) Alex who took my phone call said my dog hasn't been there since last November meanwhile she was there for a bath in May. They were very unapologetic and rude. If I were you I would go elsewhere so you can get proper care for your animals because as we all know animals are like family this place is not it! read more

Dr. De Verna used to work here. He had a soul and always showed personal interest. I trusted him. He was honest. The two women in the office now are cold and not great vets. They push for unneeded treatments and are condescending if you refuse. My friend Paid $1000. for treatments which gave her no more information. I've had a few good vets over 50 years of pets. 3 Village Vet pushed unneeded shots and treatments for my dog and showed little personal interest in my pet. They should watch "All Creatures Great and Small." The animal should come first not your bank account! read more

I have been going here since we moved here in 2016. I have always been very happy with Dr Jones. The majority of our visits have thankfully been for well visits until recently when our oldest dog developed a concerning mass. I was able to get a quick appointment where the doctor included us in the decision making and after some testing he was determined to have a mast cell tumor. The doctor once again explained options and didn't pressure us at all. We decided to proceed with surgery which so far appears to have gone great. The pricing was very fair and the care the office showed was unbelievable. I couldn't be happier with Dr Jones and the care she provided my dog. Highly recommend this office. read more

Do not bring your pets here. The Vets work independently from the front desk. The office manager will dispense her own recommendations which push the products more than the well being of your pet. When they make a mistake they don't own up to it. Instead they act with no compassion or empathy just get defensive. My Dog was doing fine until the office manager told me a new medication was the same as the old which he was on for many years with no issues. Well it was a different active ingredient and now my dog has seizures. The switch should never have been recommended. Go someplace else where they care more about your Dog than the product they have in stock. Yes they protect the product not your pet. read more

Do not bring your pet here! Brought my 15 year old dog here and the doctor scammed my family. She ran multiple tests on my dog it totaled up to over $800 yes still no answer why the reason my dog had been extreme panting and coughing. I feel as though the doctor had not been upfront with my family as the other doctor I saw said right away( from my dog being in clear signs of distress and pain) that it was time to say goodbye to my pet. She recommended we bring her to a different doctor and the first thing he communicates to me are the first visible signs of distress in my dog which dr. Jones did not! She gave us false hope that our dog had reason to be okay and healthy, yet we bring her to a different dr and he upfront tells us it's time to put her down as she was in heart failure. As a doctor, I feel it is VERY obvious when a dog is in distress and she should be aware of the VISIBLE PHYSICAL signs if a dog is not well. She did not do any of this which makes me think she is uninformed and incompetent as a veterinarian. I will never be taking any of my pets back to this practice. I feel scammed out of money and am extremely disappointed in how the doctor performed during this visit. She gave me and my family false hope that my dog was okay and I had a feeling she knew all along that it was time to put her down but didn't say anything. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! She also was rude, did not let my family ask questions and made a comment about me crying because of my dog. read more

I'm extremely sad to write this review yet pet owners, beware! On February 15th, 2014, we brought our beloved cat Bella to Three Village Vet's office to diagnose and treat her. After examination, Dr. Carillo concluded that a possible reason was a broken tooth and possible infection in her upper right jaw. The doctor wanted to give Bella pain and antibiotic medications. We mentioned we had pill pockets and trusted our sitter to handle the medication needs (we had planned a trip). Dr. Carillo told us the antibiotic, Convenia, was long-lasting and would cover her while we were away, without the need for pills. She administered the Convenia and a pain medication, Buprenex, in combination with sub-q fluids. We took Bella home and two hours later, found her dead. We called Three Village's office first and a recording advised us to contact our emergency vet's office, which we did. Bella was taken there for cremation. The next day, trying to understand how such a healthy cat with only a dental problem could have died so suddenly, we explored the 2 drugs administered. It took only a few seconds to find thousands of actual reports of adverse reactions to Convenia, including death. It was a shock to realize Dr. Carillo had made a choice to use this drug without informing us of these possible side effects, especially when other options existed. It is a vet's professional obligation to provide enough information to give informed consent for the use of any drug, treatment or procedure. (review the American Veterinary Medical Association). Dr. Carillo chose not to do so, and our sweet Bella is dead. If you are a pet owner, be aware that your vet is REQUIRED to give you written explanation of any procedure or treatment before commencing. read more

i can't fully express how happy i am with the staff at three village. as a new dog owner, i didn't know what to expect, but their care and love of animals is outstanding. having a new puppy you visit quite frequently, but they do offer coupons which are updated monthly on their website. i've seen three of their doctors and each have made me comfortable to work with. i would recommend them to anyone in the smithtown, stony brook area. read more

I took away 1 star for the cost but i assure you, you're getting what you pay for here. After an extremely traumatic experience at hawkins vet, i was recommend here. Their care and dedication go above and beyond anything i could have expected. I found my cat in a dumpster and not only were they able to give me a break on the costs of her tests they were dilligent and attentive. ABOVE AND BEYOND. As new pup parents we were ambivalent to choose a vet. After some research we decided on Three Village. Dr Carillo was amazing. Maya is a rescue and quite skiddish around strangers and was not happy to be at the vet. They took their time, were informative, and extremely accommodating. Due to her anxiety they even suggested we bring her by a few times during their slow hours just so she can get used to the office. They gave us a 20% off discount just for a new visit and gave recommendations for high quality food and treats. Expensive! I took my cat for the first time and it cost $72 for a general check up exam but I used a 20% off coupon. Additional tests were over $50 each! All they did was weigh, listen to heart and lungs, shave stomach to check if spayed and trim nails (for free). Staff is friendly and doctors are nice. Parking lot is always packed. read more

I've been bringing my cats to Three Village Vet Hospital since 2000. The staff is great and care greatly for everyone's animals. My pets have seen almost all of the doctors there: Dr. DeVerna, Dr. Carillo, Dr. Cintron. They are exceptional. Dr. Carillo is an exceptionally caring doctor, and usually make appointments with her for my cats. When my oldest needed special eye surgery, she recommended a fantastic eye specialist to me for the procedure. All went extremely well, and my oldest cat (13 now) is doing wonderfully. I've recommended 3VVH to friends, and they are now bringing their pets here as well. I thank all of the staff for the warm and welcoming treatment, and especially to the doctors who are caring and kind, and add a personal touch to treatment. They'll follow up with phone calls to your home after visits, lab work, and to check on the status of the patient. read more

After 20 years of taking my pets here, I will never return. Having my wife and son turned away because they were "booked up" while I sat in my son's car comforting my dying dog and being told to bring my suffering girl back in 2 hours was the most traumatic experience of my adult life, and I have been an RN for 20 years. The decision made by the office staff to turn us away was one of the most heartless and inhumane actions I've ever witnessed. I am completely disgusted by the lack of empathy shown to us and our dying dog. it was utterly disturbing. I guess that if Dr. DiVerna or Dr. Carillo had been consulted that they would never have allowed us to be turned away in our time of need. The fact remains, that the office staff made the decision without consulting whomever was in the office and it caused our darling girl extra suffering as we tried to pass the time before our "appointment" to ease her pain. We ultimately found another vet who was also "booked up" but yet still took the time to help us end our poor girl's painful suffering. read more

We love this vet! Everyone in the office is so sweet and they always have a smile on their face. Price is high- my dog has been having swollen back legs off and on and every time we go they run labs and it's always really expensive and the tests show nothing. I know vets are expensive but it's definitely one of the highest priced vets I have ever been to. Dog still has swollen back legs.... I'm hoping we can figure it out before I run out of money. I brought my cats to this hospital for over 20 years. I had not planned to write a review but when I came online and read Andrea's review about Bella I felt the need to speak out, something which I probably should have done at the time. In September of 2012 my beloved cat Angelina was also given Convenia at this practice for an undiagnosed problem, (keep in mind Convenia is only approved for abscesses and skin infections), after which she had a severe anemic reaction. I did blood work prior to the injection and there was no sign of Anemia. 5 days after the injection she was SEVERELY anemic at which point, Dr. Carillo, her regular doctor for many years, told me in tears that she thought Angie was dying and she didn't know why. I told her I thought Convenia had done something to her- she didn't agree. Angie became extremely lethargic, dopey and developed a high fever after the shot. Ten days later she passed. The hospital where I brought Angie that day told me when I called them that night that they were considering Convenia as a cause of the anemic reaction. It was determined in a necropsy at Cornell Hospital, which I did against Dr. Carillo's advice, that Angie had a non FeLV related cancer(she may also have had FeLV- that was never confirmed with the appropriate test) as well as Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Cornell felt that long term illness was the cause of the anemia and said they had never heard of Convenia causing anemic reactions. I however researched extensively and found that there have been numerous anemic reactions in cats who received Convenia, most of whom passed away unfortunately, even after several blood transfusions. In the report to Cornell, something which was required for me to be able to do a necropsy there, Dr. Carillo and others made false and hurtful statements about me refusing treatments in the past for Angie and not bringing her in. This was untrue, I always discussed every treatment with her and she agreed with me. Angie was a feral kitten and after our oldest cat's death she became terrified of the dvm so I tried not to bring her in unless absolutely necessary. I don't know what they thought they were going to achieve by attempting to malign me in that manner- I wrote a long reply about that report to Cornell explaining all of this. I was also charged an exorbitant amount of money for the report, which was also delayed, meanwhile I was waiting to ship Angie for the necropsy. I had discussed Convenia with Dr. Carillo when she first suggested it for Angie one month prior- I didn't think it was a good idea because it stays in the system too long. Another doctor gave her the injection without mentioning terrible side effects. I don't know what I was thinking when I allowed her to give Angie Convenia, I will always regret that decision. I discussed it with Dr. Carillo afterwards- I told her she shouldn't use this drug anymore. She said: what drug am I going to use? My reply was: use any of the safe antibiotics which can be stopped if there is a reaction. I left the practice and I'm still searching for DVM who isn't in denial about this drug. . A tech at my current dvm told me in hushed tones she had injected her kitten with Convenia and he was having symptoms of ataxia- he recovered, this was never reported. Obviously Dr C didn't listen to me and I'm very sorry I didn't write a review and for Bella's death. Convenia has killed many cats and dogs- do your research online as well as about any other drugs you're not familiar with. Convenience isn't worth risking the life of your beloved cat or dog. Have your DVM write NO CONVENIA in red ink in the charts and discuss this with any emergency or other caregivers. Report any reactions to the FDA and to Zoetis and do a necropsy if a death occurs so that this drug can be removed from the market. RIP Bella and RIP my darling Angelina, light of my life. Convenia Reactions: FOREIGN MARKET EXPERIENCE: The following adverse events were reported voluntarily during post-approval use of the product in dogs and cats in foreign markets: death, tremors/ataxia, seizures, anaphylaxis, acute pulmonary edema, facial edema, injection site reactions (alopecia, scabs, necrosis, and erythema), hemolytic anemia, salivation, pruritus, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea "High doses of Cefovecin sodium (Convenia) can cause nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, hepatitis, changes in the blood leukogram and thrombocytopenia." *This is from Pfizer or another drug promoter's own literature- unfortunately for some cats and dogs this happens with one NORMAL dose. Occasionally, cephalosporins and NSAIDs have been associated with myelotoxicity, thereby creating a toxic neutropenia4. Other hematological reactions seen with cephalosporins include neutropenia, anemia, hypoprothrombinemia, thrombocytopenia, prolonged prothrombin time (PT) and partial thromboplastin time (PTT), platelet dysfunction and transient increases in serum aminotransferases. read more
