I would have to say that I am so very grateful for the treatment and outstanding warm customer service from this facility. I am helping my daughter (with the help of 3 other families) plan a 2021 prom and the Rose Garden Estates donated the estate at a discounted rate due to the covid-19 pandemic's effects. They have been there every step of the way and they are truly a sweet spirit in the community. I read a review regarding this event from another patron. She said that the venue was unprofessional and rude, however I have to rebut. The other review has been slanted and twisted. Yes, the venue was open and we walked in uninvited but it was an an error on our parts. The manager was upset because of safety concerns as they had the place under construction at the time doing upgrades and out of fear for our safety they asked us politely not to enter without an employee with us. As a mom, I am so proud of my daughter and our community for coming together on this and making 2021 prom a reality for our struggling teens. The other family who left a review had differences in opinion with us and removed themselves from this planning process after refusing to disclose an open and honest transparent view of finances on behalf of the 2021 prom planning process and this is why I believe they have tried to sabotage our children of Tehachapi. I want to stress again that we are so very grateful for the venue and all of it's staff and what they are sacrificing for the children this year and even in the face of critics who would want to see someone fail when they dont get their way. Our wedding at the Rose Garden Estate was beautiful (end of June, 2015). The road to the wedding, though, was rocky. Paul and Lorie, anything I say is only to help your business while also helping future brides and grooms. My husband and I signed the contract for the venue knowing that we would most likely be paying for port-a-potties and that the venue wouldn't have a kitchen/prep area. HOWEVER, we were VERY pleased to see that the bathrooms and prep area were built and ready to be used by our wedding date! So that was a big plus! Further, Paul was kind enough to wake up and make myself and all of my bridesmaids breakfast before the big day. Meeting Paul and Lorie was exciting; their can-do, small business-owner vibe that they created was alluring to my husband and I. However, as the months progressed, I found myself getting a little frustrated. It seemed as though there were hidden fees that I had not known about (which may be my own fault for being a 'first-time bride' as Paul put it). Furthermore, things that were promised would be done by my wedding were not, such as the flooring (and my wedding party and parents were the ones who swept the concrete floors the day before the wedding because they were pretty slippery with dust). It seemed that the wedding day went by smoothly, but I found out some interesting things when I returned from my honeymoon. Firstly, the day after the wedding some of my family returned to pick up the rest of the decorations and EVERYTHING outside was blown over, including our hand-made arch! A statue outside had fallen over (by the wind) and Paul said that a couple of my guests had knocked over one of his statues outside, when the security guards I had were standing in front of that statue the entire night, and Paul never claimed to have seen someone push it over with his eyes. (By the way, I'm not sure if we will get our security deposit check back because of this or not, I have yet to be contacted by the venue owners). Secondly, I was very disappointed to be told that Paul was very adamant about kicking my bridesmaids out of the bed and breakfast house the night of the wedding at 9:30pm. This was upsetting for two reasons: first, my wedding ended at 10pm, which means that the last 30 minutes the girls were packing and loading cars in a rush instead of enjoying the wedding; second, my husband and I had paid almost $400 to rent the bed and breakfast house the night of the wedding, so it really should not have mattered if they were in the house past 10p. I had previously asked Paul if we could get our money back if we were not planning on using the house that night, to which he never gave me an answer. So yeah... $400.00 out the window. Grenier- Cobos wedding the DJ was the only plus in the entire event. Recommended florist was late and started putting things together an hour before the bride walked down the isle, "bartender" was wearing a fitted HAT and jeans TO A WEDDING EVENT also had no idea how to bartend, the owners wife also wore casual clothing, the entire set up for the event was late and the flowers were wilting because the wife of the owner DID NOT turn on the air conditioners until people arrived at the venue. Over all it was a horrible venue, only saving grace was the lovely couple and the DJ. THE OWNERS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AND COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED. read more

Great venue in a beautiful location, the owners Paul and Lorie are very helpful and make things less stressful. The venue is filled with everything you will need including beautiful décor to use! This venue allows for flexibility and guests are able to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well. The food was extremely good and the amount was mind blowing. The plates were completely filled, many guests got seconds and thirds. Our refrigerator is completely filled still!! If I had to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing. I just had my wedding yesterday on April 27th, 2019 and it was FANTASTIC! The reason I initially went with this venue was for the fact that they have package deals and do all of the work for you. No set up or clean up (unless you bring your extra things). I ended up choosing the luxury package in which includes all the other vendors such as cake, food, flowers, photographer, and DJ. We were able to arrive at the venue 10am the day of and set up the little things that we needed. The property itself was quite clean and ready for use. Luke and Eric were very friendly, helpful, and truly catered to our needs. Whatever I needed or a guest needed, they were on it! I am only doing 4 stars because when I initially met with Paul (the owner I believe) we agreed on having the candles they provide for centerpieces instead of flower centerpieces. Water pitchers were in place instead. Also, we were supposed to have a breakfast made by Paul the day after the wedding, but we didnt get that either. I was under the impression that ownership may be changing and it could have been lack of communication between owner and Luke? If I had to do it all over again though, I would definitely be back to book the venue! read more

First and foremost we want to say that the Rose Garden Estate is going to be the best deal you're going to find in and around Kern County! From the first correspondence to our final farewells, Paul and Lorie were nothing short of professional and super friendly! As stressful and exhausting as planning a wedding can be, they made every effort to make sure we were well taken care of. The staff was wonderful, the catering options were excellent (so many of our guests have told us it's the best food they've had at a wedding!) and the house was gorgeous. And the breakfast Paul made the next morning was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience all around. We would highly recommend anyone looking for an out of town wedding venue to take Rose Garden Estates into consideration. We're certainly glad we did! No words can describe our experience! We have been planning our wedding for a year and just got married. It was just absolutely stunning. Paul and Lori made it so we could enjoy our day and didn't have to lift a finger! They were always just a text away and answered all of our questions honestly and quickly. Whenever you would want to see the venue, they made it happen! They had nothing but patience and were so courteous towards is and every one of our family members! We absolutely loved every minute of our wedding. The venue alone is breathtaking. You walk in and you feel welcome! The views and the environment surrounding it made every one of my guests (and me) speechless. The caterers they recommended are so amazing. The food was just to die for. Where can I even begin? I reviewed this venue before my wedding and if I could give it a better rating than 5 stars I would! The venue itself is gorgeous, affordable, and can be modified to any brides style. The owners are so helpful! I always texted or called Paul and he always answered within the hour with. There was a time when I had trouble with my hotel blocking rooms for my guests, I called them for some different hotel options ready to burst from the stress and they took care of it for me. They called the manager and cleared up the problem. To say they are helpful is an understatement, they really care about their customers. The day of my wedding Lorrie made everything easy and stress free from set up to clean up. She was sweet and my guests loved her. The next day Paul made me and my new husband these amazing French toasts served with coffee, and wow, my husband still bothers me to text him for the recipe. What I really appreciated about them was, they were honest and sweet. If they couldn't do something for us or we couldn't bring a certain type of décor or what have you, they didn't pussyfoot around the question they politely gave you the answer. This is a family owned business and they are doing a great job. If you want a beautiful wedding, great customer service, and prices that are reasonable give Lorrie and Paul a call. I was so disappointed with all of the other venues that we had looked at, and my made us check this place out, and I'm glad she did. This venue was everything I could have asked for and much, much more. Lori and Paul are the best to work with. They are so kind, considerate and accommodating. I promise, all that they offer in their wedding packages you cannot go anywhere else and get what you pay for here. Lori is so helpful, she asked us throughout the evening if there was anything we needed. She was so kind to even serve mine and my husbands dinner before guests started lining up for the most delicious wedding food I have yet to eat (and I'm not saying that just because it was my wedding) having the ability to get ready before the wedding service onsite is a huge plus. Not only the women had enough room to get ready but all the men as well. Their beautiful home is comfortable, relaxing, and so charming. At the end of the night, Lori and Paul took care of ALL the cleanup, and even had the leftover wedding food boxed up and taken to the house. It was so much fun to be able to stay the night in the bridal suite, and wake up to Paul's amazing cooking. He made us the best French toast I have ever had. I will say too, that my husband and I are foodies and can tell you where the best is, and Paul definitely earns best French toast award. TL/DR: 10/10- would NOT recommend. Don't go through the nightmare I did. Do not book your wedding here. However, I heard the Bed and Breakfast on its own is pretty nice, if you can get past the brothel-like decorations. I am not one for writing bad reviews. However, in this particular case, I am mostly concerned with warning other brides about the irresponsibility, lack of organization and overall nightmare that booking with this venue was. First of all, from the get go, there was such an air of disorganization. This venue was operating as a business, yet had no way at the location to make me a copy of the contract that was signed, or to print me a receipt when my deposit was paid for. Instead they offered to email the receipt separately... which I never got. From there on out, the nightmare persisted. When I signed the contract there were no bathrooms, and we understood from the beginning that we would have to rent our own porta-johns for the wedding day. However, the next time we went out to the venue, we saw that construction was being done. It looked as if bathrooms were getting installed after all! When I talked to Paul (the owner) he informed me that it was a requirement that he had to meet for a Health Code. Also, he wasn't sure if the bathrooms would be done by the time my wedding was set, but that we would still be able to use the venue. Ok, no big deal. We would keep an eye on that. As the months passed, it looked more and more like the bathrooms would be done on time. We even got to the point that Paul said we don't need to rent Porta-johns at all because we would for sure have bathrooms for the day of the wedding. Awesome. This is amazing news. In the mean time, dealing with the business end was a mess. The price bounced all over the place in terms of what I owed the venue. Every time I talked to Paul, it was a different number.I signed the contract for $3,500. By the time I was done, I paid $4,567.62. He added taxes, security personnel and the use of their liquor license that they did not have when I signed the contract. We weren't actually selling any alcohol at the venue, everything was being brought and given away by us. Paul's exact words were "Well, we had to pay for the liquor license, so you have to pay for part of it." To this moment, I still can't make the number we paid him over all add up to what I estimated we should have paid. It became so shady to me that I even had him write on a piece of notebook paper that we had paid him in full when I made my final payment (because of course, he still couldn't print a receipt, and I still never received an email receipt). But as bad as it already was, it got worse. Remember those bathrooms I was talking about? Yeah. Let's fast forward to Thursday, April 16th. Nine Days before my wedding. I get a call from Paul. Apparently, those bathrooms that were being built aren't going to be done in time. Ok, no big deal, we already had a contingency plan . Oh, wait... there's more. It appears that that wasn't the only construction going on in the venue hall. Now the venue hall is completely unusable due to the construction that was necessary for him to meet code. I have nowhere to put 100 guests. "But we'll rent you a tent" I didn't pay for a tent. I paid for the use of the venue. To be honest, the tent would have worked. But we asked him to cover the cost of the tent, heaters, and bathrooms (since at this point he had promised us bathrooms). We also requested $1500 to be refunded to us since we were no longer going to be able to use the venue hall that we had signed a contract for. He acted as if we were being unreasonable for even suggesting it, since he would be supplying a tent instead. I reminded him that I have spent money on all the decorations necessary for his venue hall.... decorations that would no longer work in a tent. I reminded him that I was promised the venue hall, and I paid for a venue hall, and not a tent. I reminded him that if he should have been up to code before he ever booked any weddings. I reminded him that it was not my fault that he couldn't keep his contractual obligation... but his poor planning. Immediately after leaving this meeting, I took the chance to drive to another venue. This venue doesn't open until May, and had already made their own plans for that day. However, upon hearing my story (and recognizing the story as I was the FOURTH bride to come to them this month in a panic), this venue took pity on me and booked me for my wedding NINE days before in advance. We called Paul and told him we would meet him for a refund. Full disclosure, he did refund us every penny and I was able to use that refund for my new venue and then some. read more

To Bakersfield. We also had a plane to catch that afternoon and would not have made it home and back to L.A had we left at 12. I realize you may not have liked my review but I do not appreciate you saying we stayed past the time of checkout and you guys were "nice enough" to not charge us for it and blaming the late cleaning crew or issues with your party on us. So it was not out of the kindness of your heart or that you just wanted us to be happy that you did not charge us for a late check-out, it was due to the fact that I was up at 6 am cleaning, even taking out the kitchen trash after you said the cleaning crew would do it and being out at 10 am as promised. I married my beautiful wife in June 2017 at the Rose Garden Estates. This is hands down the best wedding decision we made. Although my wife did most of the planning, the decision on the venue was heavily depended on both of us. We visited around 8 venues and this venue crushed the competition. There are tons of reasons why this place is superior however i will point out the ones that hold the most weight. The scenery is incredible, surrounded with mountains and greenery. Its a view that can be greatly appreciated in person. The price packages are beyond reasonable. You will have the hardest time comparing other venue to this one as this venue has lower prices, more options and special perks. Lastly, the reason this was worth every penny was the owners of the venue, Paul and Lori Theres a difference between a business transaction (like most venues) and a venue that provides the comfort that they will do everything in their power to ensure your special day remains a special one. They will ordain the event and pays the closest attention to detail to ensure everything goes smooth. They are responsive through text or call. They ensure everything is clean and proper. Damn, they even cook you breakfast the next day. They are great people and their service will reflect that. I had scheduled my wedding a year in advance with Paul and Lorie. We loved the property and loved them. We decided to go with the Ultimate Package, since it included everything. We had discussed with them how things would be set up and the time in which we would be coming to decorate. My family got to the venue before I did and called to tell me that no one was there and that the hall was a mess. When I arrived, the entire reception hall/barn, was still set up with the wrong chairs/tables/etc from the previous night's wedding. Not only was the reception venue not set up, but the outside ceremony was not set up, as previously discussed. It was a mess.. We had to wait for Paul and the workers to get there to start cleaning the place us and setting it up for our wedding, something that was promised would be done the night before. Instead of just being able to do our personal decorations, we had to help tear down tables, move the wrong chairs, and then set up the new ones. It completely through our entire timeline off. My family and bridesmaids, who were supposed to get ready with me, were in the reception hall decorating and still setting up during the time we were supposed to get ready, so I did not get the experience of getting ready together, nor do I have any pictures of that time with them. We all had to get ready at separate times. It threw the entire timeline off. My two Aunt's had to do their own hair, even though we paid for a profession hairstylist, simply because we were strapped for time. I had fallen in love with this place and paid thousands of dollars to have it there, and I felt and still feel completely let down and ripped off. We paid for the Ultimate Package so that we wouldn't have to worry about setting up, and for a stress free day. Needless to say, I was in tears the entire morning of my wedding. We paid for something we didn't receive, and I feel so disappointed, because I loved this place and was assured that we would be taken care of...unfortunately, we were not. read more

I am so glad that I found Paul and Lorie at the AV bridal show. They have been so amazing and so attentive to me! My wedding was perfect the whole night they were making sure everything was good that I was pleased with everything! The cost was so reasonable and the view and the barn is incredibly beautiful. They have done so many amazing things to the venue to make it so perfect. Lorie was so nice asking me if I needed anything all night and Paul was so amazing with the bar especially with my drunk guests!!! This venue is definitely a hidden gem I cannot believe how amazing this place was it took a lot of stress off of my wedding planning. The next morning Paul came to the house early in the morning after staying at the venue very late. He came and made us breakfast his food is completely amazing and he is so caring and attentive he wouldn't even sit with us at the table when I asked him to take a seat he said that he wanted us to eat our breakfast in peace! I am reviewing the wedding venue. Upon seeing the property in December 2014 we knew this is where we wanted to get married. In no way could we have ever imagined what the venue turned into within a short period of time. There were bathrooms and a kitchen prep area by the time our wedding rolled around. Small accents were added, there were wine barrels and a vintage hutch for use, which made decorating a lot easier! We had our own catering and no alcohol and about 60 people. Paul was very helpful from day 1, and as the wedding approached he was always a text or phone call away. He always had an answer and never once was I left waiting for an answer. His crew was able to get the tables and chairs arranged exactly how we wanted and our wedding could not have gone any smoother. A word of advice to those who are not aware of the Tehachapi weather - it can get windy - really windy. Our wedding was early June and it was windy almost the entire time. Being who we are the wind was just something to laugh about it messed up guests hair as well as mine, but it did not ruin our day. Just be prepared, it's just one of those things that you probably won't think about until it's too late, so use lots of hairspray! The reception however was inside and the wind proved to be a natural air conditioner. Many guests chose to stay outside they moved their chairs around and just enjoyed the scenery. I would definitely recommend just a look, once you see it nothing else can compare. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience with the Rose Garden Estate!! First of all, this place is gorgeous!! Stunning views of the valley and for my special day we had perfect weather. Much cooler than my home town. I mostly dealt with Paul. He was friendly and courteous. He always got back to me right away on any questions or concerns I had. Always making sure we were happy and comfortable, which we very much were. The whole day I was on cloud nine. One of my friends even said this was the best wedding she had ever attended in her adult life. That my smile never left my face. Which is true, I was high on the moment. I was able to enjoy my day! It was so stress free and just perfect. I couldn't have imagined a better place to have one of the most important days of my life at this venue. Thanks to Paul and Lorie. I am the mother of the bride. My daughter wedding was Sat.16 2015. As we pulled in Friday we first met Lori, and than Paul these two went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The barn for the reception was ready and just gorgeous Any thing we needed they made sure we had. My daughters wedding was amazing even with the Tehachapi winds. We pulled in on Friday the 15th and was able to stay in the Beautiful house. For the big event on Sat. Friday we set up the hall with Lori's and Paul's help and advise we made it look just as my daughter and son in-law wanted. A new love seat was brought in from Lori and Paul for my daughter and her Hubby to take pictures with family and friends. Paul cooked us an amazing breakfast with coffee and orange juice, milk for those who wanted it. Me and my husband are very pleased with how everything came together for our daughters special day. We have debated writing our review only due to the fact that Paul asked us numerous times before the wedding to write a review which is odd. Our Wedding went well we are in no way saying it did not we however were let down by the hype we read in the reviews compared to what actually happened. There was not very much contact with them through the whole process. Paul texted me maybe twice in 7ish months. No big deal but when I asked if we were suppose to have a final meeting to iron out details and let him know I was getting nervous about not having much contact he told me they were busy with appointments but we were in capable hands and he would get back to me. After a week I had to let him know that we no longer had time to come for a final meeting so if he was working on an appt I didn't need to anymore. He told me we was available anytime which was nice but we not longer had time to wait. They made major changes to the venue no notice changing the look we wanted. We had an issue with our event insurance as well. We actually got the wrong insurance and when I asked him the day before if I needed to bring anything I realized it was wrong! I called them in a panic and Paul said he wished we had said something sooner...we didn't know it was wrong until that day! He handed the phone over to Lorie who was very polite and said she didn't know what to do but some insurance is better than none. I understand that they didn't have to let the wedding to take place, which we were very grateful they did even though within hours we had purchased 2 different insurances, one being the required one, for the event. So that was nice of them. Just a recommendation for the future, would be to go over paperwork with your clients that is due by a certain time frame because accidents do happen. We arrived at 1pm like Paul said and that he would be doing the bar-tending as theirs called out. Then my sister had pulled up in her car and was smoking in her car when a staff member let them know they could not smoke not even in there car which we were not told, only that if it was outside it was to be in one area. As we are decorating the building Paul wanted the table runners and mentioned they needed lunch. I said we would put the runners on no big deal. He said it would be back in an 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. It was around 3 and we still had not seen them. Paul allowed my wedding party to move the wedding arch into position and cover it in burlap but we didn't finish. It was almost 4 when we started getting ready, everyone was rushing to finish decorating. My niece went to check around 4 and she said people were here now. Now that the supplies were there for the arch the ladder was gone. My two brother in laws asked Paul if they could use the ladder and I was told separately by both that Paul was very agitated that he had just put it away and had to get it back. So then they were told that they had to get a smaller ladder out and put it back themselves. My brother at last got the burlap up that my florist loaned me and put the ladder back. So up until this point hardly no contact with them and we were told they would help us every step of the way and that was not the case. Ceremony went great everything I hoped it would be thanks to my amazing family and all the friends who helped! As we were done and taking pictures my brother in law comes up and says that Paul really like the burlap on the arch and wants it. Unfortunately it was not mine so I had to say no. Right as we walked in Lorie presented us with plates of food which I did not get to eat until it was cold due to everyone wanting to greet us. I think they talked with us maybe 3 times during the reception but the staff, which I understand is their family came up asking questions about champagne for toasts. One of my bridesmaids came up to say hi and went back and had no more food. We had paid for the venue until 10 and at 9:33 they began pack up! My guest were confused and thought they had to pack before THEY could leave. I had everyone leave and were in cars by 10:08. The owners stayed briefly and left. We were up at 7 picking up due to the wind. There was red petals, other guests wedding papers and favors all over that we cleaned that was not ours. I took photos before and after of everything. We had a female wedding guest tell me that the bartender gave her a free drink if she would leave a positive yelp review! My sister said twice upon coming to get a drink he commented on how beautiful she was which made her feel uneasy. My CAKE lady said he commented on her looks to her husband!! Paul never did a final walk through and even said it was weird I wouldn't give him the burlap. I offered him decor including burlap rolls and he said no. My guest loved the venue but thought it was tacky to pack up early especially because we did most of the clean up. We had people that had food taken and didn't eat. When I was invited to be in a wedding in Tehachipi, I thought where? ? This place is a hidden gem, surrounded by the most beautiful landscape Tehachipi has to offer! Rose Garden Estates is beautiful, the inside of the house was perfect for us bridesmaids to get ready with a huge room and bathroom on one side of the house, and on the other side far from the bride was another two rooms and large bathroom for the men. we fit about six girls in the bathroom alone doing hair and make-up, while another seven or so got ready in the spacious room connected to it. big beautiful Windows gave us natural light while getting ready, When i finally went outside I was greeted by the owners who were working their butts of to make everything perfect. The location and position of the walk way for the ceremony was unbelievably perfect! The hills, and agricultural farming In the background was just beautiful! The hall where the reception took place was spacious, clean, and beautiful! They really made this place perfect from the restrooms in the hall, to the beautiful furnishings in the house I cannot wait to have my wedding there! read more

I booked our wedding here months ago. I was told about construction and the owners had a backup plan ready for us in case construction was not done. Lucky for us the construction was finished. We had our wedding in an absolutely fabulous barn. The building was completely finished and I am so glad. It out did any expectation that I had going in. The grounds of the Rose Garden are magnificent. They can not be beat anywhere in Kern county. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone that I know. Lorie and Paul out did themselves with this place and they helped us make this day exactly what we had dreamed of. I will be making plans to stay in the B and B for many years to come. I came across this venue about three years ago. it popped up on my feed and since the min i saw it i added the page and said this would be my venue if and when i got married. (i wasnt even engaged at the time lol) after my now husband popped the question i showed him pictures and took him out to go see it. as we walked through he said "this is it, i really like it". i was ecstatic of course. through out the course of the yr up to our wedding. it was very easy to get in contact with paul. any questions or concerns he was very quick to answer and text back rather promptly... the weekend of the wedding i was offered to go a day before to set up... unfortunately i couldnt go but it was nice of the to offer. i was able to get into the house and venue at 10 am. which gave me more than enough time to set up. everything went rather smoothly, the food was absolutely amazing!!!! (our guest still tell us how great the food was) Lorie was a sweetheart, she offered to serve our plate and was there through out the night being extremely helpful and a wonderful host.
