I came in on the weekend to pick up a gift for my friend. The lady at the bar was so kind. She helped me choose a wine for my friend based off of what I told her she liked. I don't drink wine so I know nothing. Then she also let me sample their sparkling almond wine, now that was absolutely delicious!!! I got a bottle to share with my mom and husband. We liked it so much that my mom went back and got a case . The outside of the winery is beautiful with views of the Bear Valley springs and Tehachapi mountains. The inside of the winery has a cabin feel, lots of tables to sit at and a bar. There is even an outside area to sit at and enjoy the view. I will definitely come back and do a more thorough tasting with my mom. read more

Friendly pups welcome! This place is great! Nice AC on the inside and great covered patio outside with a great view! They offer really nice flights to sample. They have nice holiday events that are fun to go to. I think one of their best/most popular is the almond champagne. It's a little on the sweet side for me but it's still delicious! Their charcuterie isn't the best but they do let you bring your own if you want! You can bring any food. And they have spots you can bbq outside as well. Their service is good. The drive up was long and gravel roads. Feel like drive could have been much shorter if they were able to make an entrance right off the main road. We did a wine tasting; wines were okay. A couple were too dry for me and hard to drink. Heard a lot about the almond wine ... wish it was one on the tasting flight. That would have been a great ending on the tasting. After starting our tasting we decided to take a seat on the outdoor patio since it was a nice day; there were a lot of bugs . I think I got bit a few times. My wife said it was "National Drink Wine Day". I thought she was pulling my leg. She said, "No, it's for real." Well, we are patriots, and we should celebrate this holiday. We headed off to Tehachapi and began at Triassic Winery with a tasting. Now, I'm not a wine expert by any stretch of the imagination. I've rarely met a glass of wine I didn't like. The wineries in Tehachapi, I understand there are five now, are really developing their own reputation. They are small and the wines are at the upper end of what our pocketbook can afford. But, the wineries are fun to visit. Tehachapi is a comfortable community. The people are friendly and the weather is nice. Triassic has a covered patio and an inside tasting room. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. We picked up one of their charcuterie boxes ($18.50) that included salami, cheese, nuts, berries, and crackers. There were 5 tastings in the flight. We started with the 209 Viognier. I thought this was a very nice white and preferred it over the 2020 Viognier Oaked. We then tried the 2018 Legacy Red, their Zin, and finally a sparkling Almond. They gave us a tasting sheet with very brief descriptions of the awards a variety had won. I logged on to their website and read more detailed descriptions of the wines. My wife and I played the "Did you pick up the notes of cocoa?" or other spices game. Triassic is a nice place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. If it's not officially National Drink Wine Day, I think you can proclaim one on your own. read more

Slowwww down when getting close it's easy to miss the turn in. Very nice grounds to enjoy wine and socialize. Lots of lawn with tables all around. Covered patio with tables also. Nicely decorated tasting bar. Some snacks in a refrigerator located in the wine bar. The employees are nice and attentive. They don't offer a lot of information about the wine and background of the winery. That is always a plus for me. We tasted seven wines, some whites and reds. Definitely liked the Zinfandel the best. Anywhere we go we are always on the look out for wineries. I was pleasantly surprised to find out there are several in this Tehachapi area, just a few miles outside of the downtown area. Triassic is very welcoming with a nice wine tasting bar inside area, and big open outdoor patio and lawn space. The servers were very helpful and offered us a generous tasting of their wines. The lawn area is dog and kid friendly. Unfortunately, my palate on the day we visited was not taking well to any of the wines we tasted. The wine was drinkable, but in my humble opinion it was just okay. If you are in the area Triassic Vineyards is worth a stop to check out. read more

This place was a little more "down home" than we had anticipated but the prices were very much on par with the central coast wineries we know and love. This is a nice way of saying it's a little too expensive for what you get. We were greeted by a very friendly staff who explained the wine tasting options. We opted for the standard at $15 a person. I made a casual inquiry of their sandwich and charcuterie options and our server responded by disappearing behind the counter and returning with an armload of plastic boxes full of various pre-made sandwiches. They looked like they were made long in advance and refrigerated for a pre-planned corporate luncheon. They were no Sequoia but they were alright. The charcuterie was delicious but also came prepackaged in a cardboard box. We pulled out each item and we were surprised at what we got. It was like a magic show. Suffice to say, the presentation was lacking. The wine was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad. It was delivered to our table on a "boat" of plastic cups. I liked the Big Bang and the almond flavored sparkling wine was good too. All in all this place wasn't terrible but it would have benefitted from a little more effort in the presentation. The charcuterie and sandwiches could have been served on plates, rather than in boxes. And the wine was good enough that it deserved a glass and not a clear plastic one ounce Dixie cup. We spent $120 (including tip) for two wine tastings, two individual pours, a charcuterie box and a gas station turkey sandwich. I wouldn't avoid the place but I wouldn't bother making the trip from Bakersfield just for this either. read more

Just cheese and cracker boards that another local place makes for them to sell. We came on a Sunday afternoon. Semi busy I would say and at times, we went long lags without pours. So, we were likely there longer than we wanted to be BUT.. we were able to have our dog with us on the patio and the wine we did have was nice. Shortest, tiniest pours I have ever seen though. Half a mouthful each taste. $ The gift shop inside was cute. Restroom was spotless. Nothing by the bottle was less than $28. Buy 2 bottles, they waive 1 wine tasting flight. We came home with 2 bottles of Daily Red and would certainly keep this spot in mind for a return visit. read more

What I like most about this winery is the seating areas & beautiful view. There are a variety of places to sit: indoors in air conditioning (at bar height tables), outside on their patio with some protection from the wind, and at picnic tables on their lawn. Wine... is so-so. Sometimes they have food trucks, and that's extremely appealing. (Gotta have food if you're gonna drink much!) Also, I'm gluten-free, so I can often make a food truck work. Speaking of food... Triassic does have some food available, like a small charcuterie box. But because I can't eat gluten, it really limits what I could eat from the charcuterie box, so unfortunately I have to pass. I mentioned this problem to them, and they recommended I go grab food at Moesner's and bring it back for myself. 1) that's a pain, & 2) Moesners is a bakery that doesn't have gluten-free. Service is also so-so. It can be snobby or offputting; but there are also some sweet gals there. So it's hit or miss. read more

Almond Sparkling wine was delicious! The scenery was beautiful. The staff was warm and welcoming. We arrived and seated ourselves. We chose a comfortable seating area. We brought our own lunch. It was a lovely time. Just about when we were deciding on a second bottle or not a gentleman asked us to move. He was kind. He seemed uncomfortable asking us and explained he had reserved the area. It wasn't a problem for us until a women came up about min later and was unapologetic about moving and rushing us. And reinforced that she needed us to move. Awkward.
