We have always had excellent service from Rose Hill Veterinary Practice. The staff has always been pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Our animals love them! We have had to go there in mostly good circumstances, occasionally with sad situations where there was no more that could be done for an animal. I have been using Rosehill Vet since we moved to this area. I had heard bad things about a Dr.Cole there. I use Dr. Jones and have had nothing but great experiences with him. He even put some procedures together to avoid having to give anesthesia twice. He took the time to explain things, give alternatives and the differences in price/effect of each. Highly recommend Dr. Jones. I only wish they offered emergency services. Do not go to MedVet in Manassas... it's awful. read more

One of the most heartless vets. My goat, Quinn, was suffering from a urinary blockage. I called Rose Hill first thing for an emergency farm call. Long story short; Dr Massey got here after 2pm. He mentioned that he stopped and helped a lady change a flat tire on the way. Very noble. However, when I got the bill, there was the charge for the "emergency". I refused to pay it since Dr Massey didn't treat it as an emergency and Quinn suffered greatly. I got a letter back from Dr Massey telling me what a horrible human being I was and he could not service me any longer. Fine. You suck anyway. Vets in this area are way overloaded with patients and cannot give the care that each client deserves. Rose Hill is not the only one. Shenandoah Animal Clinic and Warren County Vet are just as bad. read more

I called to make an appointment for euthanasia. The receptionist told me she could not give me a quote for the procedure over the phone but that the cost would be somewhere between $58 and $100. I got to the vet and was taken to a room. The receptionist came to the room and told me the price would be $100.38 for the procedure and asked me for payment. The vet had not even spoke to me or seen the dog. I was not willing to pay for services not rendered. I did share I would pay at time of service when I asked for the appointment. Apparently, Rose Hill does not ask for payment when an animal is being "put down" at the time of service. Knowing this, I did ask to pay before leaving the office. I did not expect the receptionist to ask for the payment before even getting to see the vet. The receptionist's words to me, "Well, the amount is in the realm of the amount I told you". The lady showed no sympathy. I was there with our family dog of 16 years. Anyone else would not even been asked to pay for this type of visit as per Rose Hill policy. I offered to pay after the appointment. I was floored that the vet did not even offer to see my dog and discuss payment himself. Or at the least acknowledge we were there and why. The staff at Rose Hill have proven more than once they are the most heartless people ever. The front office ladies are very condescending and short spoken with people. read more

Our horrible experience (Round Two with Rose Hill Vet Practice) I received the "legal/cover Rose Hill most insincere call from Dr Hausler" this morning. I received no response to my email and text to you. And then Dr Hausler saying you passed on certain/some specific info and to call me. I asked him if you were going to contact me and or respond he said "I can't speak for him" Hmm, you asked him to call me and you passed on "parts" of my correspondence to you. I think he was speaking for you in some ways. Anyway I'm sure he contacted you in some way right after our call (probably for cover/legal reasons) it sure wasn't sincere care for our babies. That's for sure. Just before moving forward with (clearly as you've read in our corespondents to you) Our hurt/upset and insulted feelings and sharing them with others. And sharing this experience with as many others as possible may save their goats and or them from having the same bad experiences that we had with you all. I want to let you know directly and clearly: What I wrote you and what I will be sharing with others is specifically from our personal experience and or phone conversations and are 100% facts and truth. It is also only about the Rose Hill vets and or employees that we had dealings with. It is not in any way about Rose Hill across the board. Or about anyone that we had no dealings with. We also cleared this and everything we will be sharing with our law office. And as you seemed on our 26 minute phone call and explained that Dr Hausler is. Do whatever it takes to fix it/things and get it right. If you want to send your best goat specialist (which we heard you have a vet or two or actual have goats too) and they will do a thorough physical exam no matter what it takes and trying to find out exactly what is wrong with our Beautiful soul Far. And at no charge to us making up for a vet not even giving him any physical exam at all in any way and then giving his diagnosis "he probably ate a bad weed" and then apologizing and offering to give us a $20 credit. Not only insulting but shows what he truly thinks of someone's babies (goats) No communication from Rose Hill vets since this. Doctor Kevin Jones been seeing my sweet doggy JayLee for many years before I even adopted her Rescue Team HART took her always to Rose Hill. After I adapted her in 2019 I been seeing the same doctor Jones and he performed surgery after my girl been diagnosed with soft tissues sarcoma. I also took my kitties to this practice for regular checkups and dental surgery. After we moved from Rappahannock to Fairfax I been driving to Rose Hill because I don't like to change a veterinarian. Last year JayLee went to Hope Center ER and stayed almost 5 days.She had a very bad side effects from chemo pills. I called Rose Hill and sent email to Doctor Kevin Jones.He NEVER BOTHER TO RESPONSE OR CALL BACK AND ASK HOW IS JAYLEE IS DOING OR IF SHE NEED ANYTHING!!!!! Great My wife and I had a minor emergency with our aging Jack Russell Rosie this week. Called Rose Hill and they got us in right away. We saw Dr. Kevin Jones. he was extremely professional and did a thorough examination of Rosie and pin pointed the cause of the problem in a timely fashion. He ordered lab work to back up his diagnosis . He went over in detail the results and formulated a treatment a plan with options depending on future lab results. I dealt with many veterinarians in my past professional life and must say Dr. Jones is a true professional. read more

I've been a customer here for a while now and I've had countless interactions with this clinic. This review is not in any way placing blame on the actual vets, but someone needs to start hiring better receptionists. I have only dealt with the large animal part, and every single time I have called them, (even with an emergency--with which they barely helped at all and made us feel like it was no big deal, actually snapped at me, and didn't rush to alert a vet to come until it was too late; which is not necessarily to say that it was their fault, horses sometimes aren't going to survive anyway), they are rude, unhelpful, snippy, and they take FOREVER to actually assist you in any way. Now I can understand if you have a busy office and that may be why anytime I have ever called they immediately put me on hold for several minutes. Sure, that makes sense. But to be downright cold and to not want to make the customer feel helped or welcome to even call, like it's the very LAST thing on your agenda to be kind, is ridiculous. Rose Hill, do better. This is just pathetic. And in any case, people need to learn to be NICE. Politeness and quality customer service are luxuries long forgotten. read more

Our Horrible experience with Rose Hill. We are only writing this so others do not have to go through what we did, and their babies (goats) won't have to suffer. We called to make appointment due to our goat (Far)having an unknown issue and we explained how he is moving stiff/slowly almost like slow motion. Also for everyone (3 goats and a mini horse)to get their annual checkups and vaccines. Dr. Hausler came out on Friday. Chuck was there. He met them at the gate and let them in. In initial conversation Chuck explained Far's problem and showed them what vaccines were needed/due at end of May. Chuck asked the vet if he could look at Far first and then the other goats then the vaccines. Dr Hausler said sure. Dr Hausler also said "I want them off grain as of yesterday" Far was in a stall and not moving/walking around. The vets looked at his eyes and listened to his heart and stomach. NO PHYSICAL TOUCHING OF FAR AT ALL. You can clearly see he has a major physical issue and he wasn't even walking just standing and sitting. "That doesn't seem like a physical exam even on a healthy living being" Dr Hauslers diagnoses was "he may have eaten a bad weed or something and or been hit by his brother" --------------------------- Since Dr. Hausler did not give Far a physical exam at all. He said "he looks good a little overweight" Far was still having issues so Georgia contacted the clinic and told Amy the situation. She said she'd tell Dr H and have him call Chuck. He didn't call. You can look at his and or our phone logs. Georgia followed up with Amy yet again and requested the owner of the practice to call Chuck. Amy said he was on a farm call but she'd have him call Chuck. No call. Georgia finally got a call from Dr. H who said he tried calling Chuck but couldn't reach him. Mr Massie (the owner) told him to call Chuck. Georgia told him that we didn't think he gave Far a thorough exam and Far was still having issues. Dr H stated that he agreed he could've given Far a more thorough exam. He agreed that he didn't give Far a complete physical exam as he needed. He apologized. He said he could come back out. I told him that's fine but we should not have to pay him again since he agrees that he didn't do his job and give Far a thorough exam the first time (even though that was the main reason for the visit) and he said he'd come out and "finish" the exam and give us a "credit." On Thursday 26th I reached back out to Amy to find out why no one had called Chuck but the office was closed. I called anyway and got the answering service and asked them to have the Dr call Chuck. I then received a text from Dr H and I texted him back and told him to call Chuck ASAP - he said he had called "multiple" times but no answer and that maybe the staff gave him the wrong number. Vet called after admitting did not do a complete physical/exam on a clearly Sick goat. All I asked was to come and complete physical exam that did not do on our goat far. Thinking why should there be any charge for coming to finish something that wasn't completely done the first time. He Then talked about giving us a $20 credit and something about us being in zone 4 or 5 which would cover 1/2 of a farm visit. He also acted like he was doing us a big favor with this $20 credit. (Slightly delusional in my opinion) And That was insulting! "Just come back and complete the physical exam on Far which was the reason for the call out to begin with" Mr Massie, I appreciated you finally calling me, and our 26 minute conversation. And I understand that you were "totally defending" your vet on how type a he is and sometimes goes even further then needed to be massively thorough. Well I think even you can see this wasn't that way in our vet visit with him. Since he clearly and admittedly did not complete and/or give Far a complete physical exam, why should we and or would we pay AGAIN for the exam to be completed (meaning a actual hands on physical exam on a goat in which we originally called about) as it should've been when he was here?? So since he did not physically exam Far at all and he wasn't getting any better we had to call our original vet to come out which cost us another $350. I know what you said on the phone about your vet going above and beyond and will do anything to make things right or better for the animals but in reality he did this then offered a $20 credit for coming back out but another full visit charge. I know it was our first time with you all but Is this really how your business works? P.S No concern care about our goats health at all after this. Unbelievable.
