Prescriptions were prescribed with instructions of instructions of what we may need to do next if the condition doesn't start to improve. I feel like they get a bad rap because it's awful to have to go to an urgent care with your vet because the way is always long and it's always much more expensive than the vet. It's just like going to urgent care instead of your doctor. People get mad about the weight but they are doing the best they can with dozens of walk-ins with all kinds of different situations. People get frustrated because nobody thinks that they're going to have to spend the day at an urgent care for their animal. People don't like paying more but that's life. I feel like these negative reviews don't consider that without these people, you would have nowhere to take your sick or injure dog in the middle of the night or on a Sunday in an emergency. The staff is lovely and the doctors are great. It sucks to have to wait so long but that's the nature of the business. All Things Considered they're dealing with stressed out people with sick and injured animals all day long and everybody wants help right now. You just have to wait your turn. Every time I've been here I've gotten superb care for my animals. I had a very sick cat that I had to take in at 9:00 at night on a Tuesday night to be put to sleep and they were so kind and sympathetic. They let me spend time in a room with my animal before and after even though they had 50 people waiting to be seen. I think they are lovely people that work here and I highly recommend this place for your animal emergencies.

Also they put my baby in a nice zippered canvas bag which made it so much easier to bring her home and bury her. And they even made a foot print of her in a clay round. Honestly if they hadn't been so caring, would have brushed it off as just a marketing gesture. However I found it very comforting. I will use them again in an emergency and highly recommend them.

I am very pleased with the way my dog is treated with them. I started going to this vet office before Dr. Terry retired, who I thought was an amazing vet. Dr. Maureen has done a really great job in taking over the practice. My pup saw her a lot before Terry left, and now we've seen more of Dr. Michelle. They do what my pup needs and are very pet oriented. I've never felt uncomfortable or off when they take my pup back for tests. I noticed a negative review in regard to wait time, however, the wait time is typically MUCH less wait time than my own health appointments, but there are occasions where it's right on time. Perhaps because they are so thorough appointments take more sometimes. I don't mind a little wait if I know I'm getting quality service at a fair price. I think the same reviewer complained about price too, but it's half what I'd pay in NVa with everything else being commensurate. Also, I boarded my dog here one time and he seemed happy when I picked him up. Good sign. (I hate boarding my "loneliness therapy dog.")

Dr. Lisa is a gentle soul with him ( and probably every animal ) and wants to do everything in her power to make him comfortable. I started taking my dog there in September of 2025. She needed a toe amputated because of a mast…read morecell tumor that was growing on it. One of the doctors removed it and then told me she was good and the cancer hadn't spread to the foot (no follow up for checking on that either). Months later in early 2026, I noticed her back leg (same one she had the toe amputated) was swelling. Took her in and Dr. Lo looked at it (no ultrasound was mentioned) and said it was from an old knee injury and gave her an anti-inflammatory. She never had a knee injury but I trusted him. Swelling went down but was coming back off and on. My husband took her for her routine exam in May 2026 and saw Dr. Vandrey. He felt a lump on her abdomen that we thought was a fatty tissue lump. He looked at her notes from her last visit with Dr. Lo and nothing was mentioned. Vandrey said he asked Dr. Lo about it and he said he didn't notice it. Well in May it was the size of a cantaloupe. Dr. Vandrey did xrays/ultrasounds and come to find out my poor Lucy had cancer all over: lungs, near her bladder, back leg (where the tumor started) and spleen where the huge mass was attached. My sweet dog went downhill fast and we had to put her to sleep on June 6, 2026 at a friend's vet practice near us (Warren Cty Vet is an hour away for us). I called Warren County Vet Clinic and told them what happened and to let Dr. Vandrey know. If they did, he didn't call or email to check in or offer any condolences. I want to know why the first vet that removed her mass didn't do an ultra sound to look for any spreading. I want to know why Dr. Lo was so casual about her swollen back leg and didn't offer to do an ultra sound. I want to know why Dr. Lo didn't notice her abdomen mass during his very brief exam and gave me a made up story that the swelling on her leg was an old knee injury that never existed. I truly believe my Lucy would still be here with us if these vets had done what they should have in the very beginning, she was only 10. Do not recommend and will never go back once we get another dog.
