The beds in the Rose and Lilac Rooms are Tempur-Pedic and make for a good sleep if you have a bad back. We had an elderly relative along and he used Helen's Room which is the ADA room in the Carriage House - it was perfect for him and all went well. The breakfast is just fantastic. Buzz, our host, was a great host and made sure we were happy. There is nothing like breakfast in the dining room with the fireplace making warmth and enjoying freshly prepared breakfast. No conventional hotel can match this. Buzz also recommended some restaurants and we were most pleased with his recommendation. We really enjoyed Market Street Inn and will return in the future. If you are looking for a great Bed & Breakfast, look no further - this is it. It is worth a special trip if you are traveling on the interstates and looking for the feel of home while on the road. I am very happy I chose this family run resort for my weekend fishing jaunt. Rich (a Vietnam era…read morenavy vet) and his wife Mary run this resort with help from their 4 young adult children. The rooms are a nice size, clean, and the beds are comfortable. There is plenty of space for your car and boat/trailer. There is a connivence/bait store on site with everything from fresh donuts and coffee, to fishing gear, to breakfast cereal, to feisty minnows. Rich is very knowledgable about fishing and boating on Lake Shelbyville. Rich and Mary are also quick with recommendations on local restaurants. Although I recommend the biscuits and gravy or omelettes prepared by Rich every morning. The resort is just a couple hundred yards from the lake. I had a great stay here and will definitely be back.
