The only downside was that I was chastised for having my phone to my ear. You can do that if you're listening to voicemail, which I was. You're not allowed to talk on the phone. I have mixed feelings about that, but I know a lot of really rude people when it comes to phone call etiquette, so I get it. I only needed a copy of my card and it was pretty straightforward. I'm hoping I won't need to come in again anytime soon. But if I do, I should know what to expect. They don't really go above and beyond, but they get things done.

Or you can go inside and one of the two employees can assist you with your basic postal needs. Either way, there's no wait or line of any sort, so you'll be in and out quick. I live a half mile around the corner from this location, so it's very convenient for me! They don't have everything (I didn't see any packaging materials or extra services -- but maybe I just didn't notice them), but it's nice when you're in a hurry and want to avoid the larger post offices, especially around the holidays.

I found the building to be clean, bright, and modern. Our friend was sworn in, then the meeting recessed to celebrate with cake and coffee. Talking with staff and trustees was pleasant as everyone seemed very friendly and excited to do the work of governing. I called 911 & Schaumburg Police Dept sent out a squad to help by sitting behind me and keeping a car from hitting me while we waited for a tow truck. They waited behind me until the tow truck had my car loaded on the flat bed truck and we were on our way. For all the shit you hear about the police most of them are there to serve & protect and do a great job. There are always going to be a few bad apples but probably 98% do there job. As it turns out this woman coincidentally has a family member in a body shop that they have to get the work done there. We paid out of pocket to keep our insurance rates down. $1000 later we settled the claim Smells like a scam to me. It keeps me from having to spend money on book/DVD/music entertainment and cluttering up my shelves with things I'll only use once or twice. Plus, the smell of books within a beautiful brick building really does something for me (man, if only my husband and I could have a romp in the stacks). So, a library that gives you a free book when you sign up for a card? SWEET! When I signed up for a card a few days after I moved here, I received a copy of "Rocket Boys" (the book that inspired 'October Sky') along with a brochure highlighting all the library events in October (and man, there's a ton of them!). This may be the first library where I've actually paid attention to the free events they offer. And they gave me a book I'd actually be interested in reading at some point. Major props for that. Roselle's library is a bit on the small side, with a smaller selection than I'm used to, but at least they have the basics -- books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, whatnot -- and a nice youth section upstairs. All the people that work here are very personable and made me feel right at home. This is the perfect library for a sweet little town.
