When they arrived for the install, we asked them to pull their box truck up to our front lawn, where there was plenty of room and access to the kitchen. Despite being explicitly asked to pull their truck to our front door and not the backyard, they attempted to drive up to our back door, took our short steel linked fence out of the ground, damaging a raised garden bed, (as well as leaving ruts in our yard) in the process. They also drove- then idled- their box truck, full of marble countertops, directly over our septic tank. We documented everything with photos, Ring videos, and written communications to discuss with Granite Guys management. After the installers left, we also discovered that one of the two sink installations in the kitchen was prominently off-center (photo attached). After we reached out to Granite Guys, the owner of the company came out to look at the damage. He acknowledged that his staff made a serious mistake with the install, then looked me in the eye and shook my hand as he promised that they would return to perform our spring cleanup as compensation and to resolve the issue. I accepted and emailed the administrator that he had agreed to perform a spring cleanup and I would reach out again then. The administrator responded and confirmed they took responsibility for the issues in the yard. On March 28th I emailed them again and asked them to come for the spring cleanup. For the next five weeks, I received very little communication from them. After unanswered emails, they responded on the morning of May 4th that they would be coming later that same day. Two guys showed up in a pickup truck, got out, took pictures of the lawn area my husband had already repaired, rang the Ring doorbell at the garage door exactly once, and then left. I emailed Granite Guys once again asking why they had left without taking care of the yard, and have not heard back. I have been attempting, unsuccessfully, to resolve this privately and patiently with Granite Guys. Though my husband was able to repair our yard, the flaw in our $7,000 countertops is permanent. Granite Guys Inc. cannot be trusted and should be avoided at all costs.

In true summer-in-New England fashion, the timeline of the project needed to be adjusted to work around heavy rainfall. As part of the standard Cooks work list they stripped off 2 + layers, applied plywood sheathing, winter guard underlayment on top of roofing underlayment, installed ridge vent & soffit air vents. The crew was responsive and respectful of my requests, clean up was great not a single nail found afterwards.

Yes - Cook told that he would need to do a new roof NOT because the roof was bad, but because we had a problem with not enough venting and soffit vents, etc. That is why we had moisture trapped in the attic. Cook explained that if the roof was less than 5 years old, then he could just do all the venting, but the only way he could guarantee all of his work ( on a 20 year old existing roof ) was to replace the roof AND do proper venting. We are so glad we did, as none of the other roofers mentioned anything about venting being the real problem. When we bought our house less than a year ago, our kitchen was... well, it was special. No other…read moreway to put it. Our refrigerator wasn't in the kitchen but rather in the hallway leading down to the basement. We had no hood over the stove. We had about 4 feet of countertop, this massive empty space in the middle of the room, plaster and lathe walls, and a ceiling fan in the middle of the kitchen. Hence, the need for a serious makeover. To save costs, we agreed to do the work ourselves. Mike and his partner Dean were great. We met with Mike multiple times to think about different ways to rearrange the kitchen. We love the final layout. The cabinets arrived as promised. When the materials arrived, Dean met the truck and checked to make sure everything we needed was delivered as ordered. As we were installing cabinets ourselves, we were able to call Mike and Dean and get quick answer to our questions. Mike was also very accessible via e-mail. Prices were also very reasonable, so that is a plus. :-)

I've worked with Corey Ferschke for 10+ years and he is my go-to contractor for roofing and gutter…read moreissues. When I bought my house in 2010, I had another contractor replace my roofing system. It gave me nothing but issues. Corey came out about a half dozen times over the years to patch the roof. He inspected my attic and determined the last contractor didn't flash the chimney correctly which led to leaks. He helped me when there was ice buildup on a bay window roof. He fixed it all. When it was time for a new roof and gutter system, Corey's quote was competitive with other roofers, so it was an obvious choice going with him. He's easy to email or text and I've referred him multiple times to friends. I love that he's a Rhode Islander and stands by his work.

They were quick to come out and were very kind in assessing the work and offered a fair quote. I liked how they itemized everything and felt they were reputable and trustworthy. I called Corey Ferschhke and we discussed details of scheduling and set the date for work to be done. Two weeks from today. We took the time off work to be available and make sure the work went smoothly. We informed our real estate agent the work was planned and she can move forward with plans. 3 days prior to work, we started to become nervous. We hadn't heard from them for confirmation or anything for 11 days. We decided to call and confirm. -Left a voicemail, no reply. -Next day, 2 days before work start, call, no reply. Text message, no reply. -Called 1 day before work start, a woman answered and told me someone would call back. No one called back. -On the day of start, I knew Ferschke Construction burned us. We had not heard from them for 2 weeks and work was supposed to start early tomorrow morning. That night, at 8:20, less than 12 hours from work time, we get a text message from a random number saying they won't be able to come as planned tomorrow but Monday the'll do the work....uh...what? I work Monday. The first thought in my mind was how much money we had just lost by trusting Ferschke Construction. Money we couldn't afford to lose. Of course we got some hollow text message apology, but does that make up for the lost wages, waste of 2 weeks, and disrespect? Insulting. This was particularly upsetting because initially they seemed like normal, honest people. As homeowners, you develop acute sense of who not to trust and who to stay far away from.
