Their maintenance of the property is outstanding! Not only are the lawns cut regularly, but today the maintenance crew were gathering up leaves with a leaf blower. Now, keep in mind, between the 3 buildings the property is well over the length of a football field and just as much wide. So we're talking thousands of leaves here. The time and effort put in to this shows just how much Witman Properties cares! The rent is really reasonable and the heating system (baseboard) is phenomenal! I have been in other homes and apartments with other heating systems and I have to say this is the best system I've seen and it has zone controls for each room! The people running this company are fantastic! When I first got here, the lights in the hallway of my building were out, so I put in a maintenance request thinking, oh, it'll be a while before they do anything. Uhhh...No! Those lights was fixed the next day. Witman properties sent put an electrician to fix whatever issue those lights had. And speaking of lights, the property is well lit all the way around all the buildings. Which is a nice thing when I walk my dog. Yes, they allow dogs and cats. I asked them their hourly rate and they said they quote by the job; not the hour. Once they were there, they told my husband it would cost more and we agreed to pay the increase. Then, I had to have them come back as they missed a number of places in the kitchen and left crumbs, etc. I then asked for a quote for regular cleaning. Again, I was told it was by the job and they had different prices for once or twice a month. I asked for a usual cleaning (bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming and washing floors) and we agreed on the price. When the cleaner arrived, she said, "what do you want me to do?" I said, "clean the house as per your proposal." She still did not seem to be clear on what I was looking for, so I volunteered to walk the house with her. She informed me that the price included a maximum of five hours (so there is an hourly rate?). I said, okay, when you're at about 4 1/2 let me know, and I'll prioritize what's left. Someone dropped by, so they left without even speaking to me. Then, I received a bill that was higher than the quote (again). I called and asked about it, and was informed that it had been six weeks since their quote and they start their timers the minute they walk in the door. They "didn't even charge me for the walkthrough." I believe everyone deserves to earn a living, but this is ridiculous. You can't quote one price and then charge more every time you come to someone's house. It's bait and switch. They saw the house before they cleaned it. The job they did the second time seemed okay, but why are you asking me what I want done if I already had a proposal? It's bait and switch and I want to warn others about their business practices.
