I came here when I was in Columbus for a military event at the National Infantry Museum. I was so excited, as I had heard great things about Rose's. This place has great, authentic Jamaican food. The service was awesome. We were greeted when we walked in, and the young lady was very patient with us while we decided what to order. We ordered beef patties, Jerk chicken (bone-in), and oxtail. We had jerk rice and mac & cheese as the sides. Others in our party got some plantains and Caribbean cabbage with her boneless curry chicken. Everything was so good and fresh. The wait was not long. The chicken and oxtails were seasoned so well. We got large orders, and there was so much food. The meats were juicy, and the flavor was abundant. We go to Columbus every year for a weekend event, and I will make sure to visit Rose's every time. read more

So glad I finally made it to Rose's! Saw it on an episode of True South, and it was worth the trip! Had the boneless jerk chicken, peas & rice, collards, and Caribbean mac. Ordered a chicken patty as well. For $13, it was a bag full of food. Jerk chicken was tender and juicy, with a great flavor (plus an afterburn of heat). I haven't had a huge share of Caribbean food in my life. Some when on Caribbean cruises or in the Miami area. Jeremy had heard on base that Rose's was THE one to try in Columbus. It's in a strip mall just a few blocks from the fort. Service was polite and friendly. Offering to help describe any menu items. The oxtail plate was rich, but the meat very fatty. The curry chicken plate had tender meat that fell of the bone. Both dishes needed salt. In fact, even the sides needed some salt. Sweet potatoes were delicious. The cabbage ok. We're in town, from California. My son and his gf, recommended this place. It's a literal hole in the wall, and it's amazing! The food was hot as in the temperature, it was so good! I wanted to pick up that oxtail and wanted to suck on it, but I kept my composure. It was empty when we walked in, around noon, but as soon as we ordered and sat, there was a line. The service was friendly and prompt. I had oxtail, with jerk fried rice, and plantains, my hubby had jerk pork, jerk rice, and plantains, same as our friend, and my son had the pasta. Fire. Pretty much everything was on point. I ordered a jerk patty sandwich for the first time ever... and mannn I've been sleep. I always order them separate. But together.. whoa. Nevertheless. The patty has amazing flavor, the crust was soft, warm, and flaky. The coco bread was light, fluffy, and overall was perfect. I also ordered the greens as well. They were cooked perfectly as well. Not as much flavor as I'm accustomed to but still good. They were firm but tender. They also let me sample the jerk chicken which was cooked perfectly and seasoned to a t. It was just a bit spicy for my pallet. However, if you can handle it, it's definitely worth a try. 5/5 They deserve all of their good ratings, and the customer service was great as well. I have never been spoken to in the manner in which the owner spoke to me about a refund for the food that didn't agree with my family it made us sick to our stomachs the owner says her doctor told her it takes 24hrs for food poisoning to show up and for us to take it to court and all that was so unnecessary and called for and very embarrassing with other customers in the restaurant the customer being right has no place in her business as I asked her kindly to lower her attitude cause I didn't have one with her she told me to get my doctors and lawyer see her in court with hers pretty much what she told me to do and then I left words that I'm not proud of two wrongs don't make it right however be aware of the private owned businesses you go to cause they govern by their own merit and $79 of my money went town the toilet ( literally ) and figuratively I hate to do this to a black owned business however we as black owned businesses have to do better by the customers also #NeverAgain #BadBusiness read more

Great Caribbean food in a strip center location, near Ft Benning. In fact, the menu posted has a sign that says "We close at xx, or until the last soldier is fed". The food is terrific, if you love Caribbean flavor. Jerk Chicken and Pork seem the most popular, but there are also ribs, curries and other things to sample. For the sides, don't miss the yams, as they are sublime. My son loved the Mac n cheese, but neither he nor I are big into collards, but it looked like a tasty option. Each meal is made from scratch, so it does take a long time, one of the drawbacks of getting good food. Service is very friendly and you will feel at home in no time. I was in the ER in Columbus I didn't have anything to eat that day I called this wonderful, amazing restaurant. Spoke to the daughter (please forgive me I forgot her name) of the owner. When I say OUTSTANDING SERVICE. I truly mean it. I visited this wonderful establishment in November 2022 for the first time & I knew I was coming back to GA in December and I kept my word to eat from Rose's again. When I called the restaurant I put in my order & paid. Even though they were closing soon, my food was delivered by the daughter to me in the ER. I didn't eat here but listen to why. I stopped in excited to get some Caribbean food. There was a young lady at the register playing with her hair using her talons. She wasn't warm and inviting, literally just looked at us as we walked in. We didn't hear nor smell any cooking in the background. The only food we saw was a baking sheet with some "jerk" wings that looked like they had been sitting there. We picked up menus to check it out anyway and asked her if they had everything on the menu. NOPE! Half of the menu they didn't even have. Completely turned off from eating there after all this.
