I just ate at Miles To Go for the first time. I will absolutely be coming back. As soon as you walk in, you just feel invited. I was met by who I believe to be the manager or owner, Donna. She was so sweet, & gave me the menu for the day, as it changes daily. I got turkey with gravy, green beans, mac & cheese, a roll, & German chocolate cake. The food is o.k. but you get 1 meat and 2 vegetables on a standard plate. I have had it several times with friends but I would rather go to a place under new management that is a Buffett & delicious and only costs $10.50, drinks are $3 more. It was all extremely nasty but new folks bought it and they cleaned the place up and the food is spectacular. Country Road Buffett on Airport Thruway, in the strip mall across from the old K-Mart. The ladies behind the cafeteria-style serving line just slop the food down on your styrofoam plate. Utensils are plastic. First and foremost the energy from Ms. Donna completely takes over this place. She is the warmest and friendliest person I have ever ran into in Columbus food and beverage. She greets you with a smile and she's constantly checking on all customers, helping the elderly, grabbing things for those dining in, and refilling drinks or getting lids/to go boxes for customers leaving. The food could have been awful and I would still want to eat here with the energy she gives off. However, the food is delicious! I absolutely loved the fish on Friday and the spicy chicken tenders are fantastic. They have a lot of great side options and desserts as well. The fact that they do drive thru as well is absolutely wonderful especially for families with young kids. I have been a fan of another local southern home style cooking restaurant for many years in Columbus and wish I would have found this option a long time ago. Miles to go is a must!! There are very few restaurants nowadays, that truly provide comfort. Thankfully for the people in living in Columbus, Georgia, this is one of those places. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food is always good and it brings real comfort to me every time I eat it. It's like the food when you go over to your grandma's house and she whips up a family dinner. Every time I come in get my food and eat I'm flooded with those memories of those time. It's good, no nonsense, southern cooking. I have been to both locations. The food quality is consistent between both. The service from the staff is always welcoming like they know you and like this is a small town family restaurant where you went to school with the owners kids. If you're ever in the area. Vacation Day #12 -- spending a quiet day with Granny & Pop before tomorrow's last day vacation adventure, but before we headed out, Pop wanted to take us to lunch at a delicious, Southern-food restaurant. Just pulling into the parking lot was a challenge because it was THAT busy! They offer both drive-through (online & in-person orders) AND sit-down dine-in services. We choose to dine-in...Walking in, you are promptly greeted by a Southern "howdy ya'll", you grab a tray and approach the hot bar to place your selections. They offer a different daily selection of meats, vegetables, and desserts that are sure to please most...but, NOT vegans! Hubby happily had a vegetable plate while I was delighted by their carnivore options. The seating area is small, probably only seating a maximum of 60, but we were able to get a table of 4 with no wait. Be aware that open hours are short, so plan your visit. The food...the service...the ambiance is just over-the-top and we wish we were in town longer to experience all their menu options AND locations. My husband and I either eat in or take home several times a week. The food is hot and delicious country home style items to choose from. The portions are filling. The sweet tea is good too! I have ordered from this place 3 times now. Officially a strike out. I wanted so badly to find a great meat and 3 and had such high hopes. I have eaten in the restaurant and ordered from door dash. The restaurant is not very appealing. But I can overlook environment if the food is outstanding. It just isn't. Both times I ordered through door dash, my order was not what I ordered. Fortunately, it was still things I would consume, except for lemonade...allergy. The meatloaf is probably the worst I have ever eaten. The mashed potatoes (homemade?) are dry and even with gravy, difficult to swallow. It smells good and gives the vibe of southern home cookin'...but it missed the mark for me. read more

I am an 89 year old widowed man who lives alone. I eat out or bring my food in almost every day. I go to miles 2go 2 or 3 times a week. The service and friendly staff is great. The food is great and consistent. You would have to look a long time to find a place that is nearly as good. I am glad to rate them 100%plus on everything. So glad they opened another location closer to my home. They have a rotating menu with something different every day. They have good food, good desserts, and friendly service. Been going to Miles To Go for about 20 years. They have a location in Phenix City too and their catering arm did our rehearsal dinner. Meat and three is always good as is the banana pudding. It's a Deep South thing but if you come in, you will get it and enjoy it immensely. read more

Super impressed by this restaurant! We came on a Thursday, and they were offering turkey as one of the meat options. I basically got to enjoy a mini Thanksgiving dinner! I had turkey with mac & cheese and sweet potato souffle and cornbread. The turkey was so juicy and tender I almost thought it was ham! The two sides were delicious--not mind blowing (sorry, I have a southern momma as my comparison level), but they definitely hit the spot! The cornbread was so yummy it didnt even need butter. The food on the line either looks terrible or they're out of it. Complaining to the manager or owner gets you nowhere. Tried giving multiple chances but every time we leave we are very disappointed.
