Triage into the medical side was somewhat better. The nursing assistants, Emergency department techs were more engaged. I did not see a Registered Nurse. Everyone was efficient, getting the job done with minimal fuss. The doctor saw me after a 15 minute wait. For an emergency department that is record fast time. He was cheerful, competent, helpful and was willing to have a converstion rather than dictate orders. We cooperatively agreed on a care plan. (It helped that I have a Master's degree in Public Health). My total time for the visit was 90 minutes. I honestly thought i was premenopausal. Her medical assistant was amazing. She however was rude, condescending and had already predetermined that I was fine. Referred my to the Psychiatric department instead. The pain was all in my mind. Embarrassed, humiliated and questioning my REAL pain at that point, I left. I ended up going to a Doctor at Sutter (referral from friend) since my imaginary pain isn't going away. After a biopsy, it was confirmed that I had a infection, something antibiotics fixed. NO more pain, exhaustion and my other female complaints were gone as well. Funny how a infection in your body affects everything but with proper medical attention and antibiotics can be fixed. Had Dr. Sundberg actually done her job or referring me to someone who could; Kaiser would've figured that out. However it took thousands of dollars outside of Kaiser to fix my medical problem. After finding this out, I was mad so I filed a complaint asking for my money back. Angelica in the claims department gave me my co pay back "as a courtesy" not because of the abusive treatment I received from the doctor. In addition, she lied to cover herself about the actual visit. Seriously? Who does that?
