I needed to get a Connect Card for use with the Roseville Transit system. When I pulled up in front of the building it was not clear where to go. After looking around inside the main building I found a sign that directed you outside by the bus stop. You must go around the right side of the building (when looking at the building) and towards the back you will find the office. I was greeted right away but there is one side for housing and one for transportation (on the left side). The staff were very helpful in getting me set up with a card and adding money. Imagine if Ron Swanson was the head of a municipal transit agency, i.e. everything is designed to either keep people from using transit at all, or at least make them *not* want to use it. That's Roseville Transit, more or less. Buses run quite a bit off-schedule, and when there's only one bus going by every hour, it's pretty crappy if it comes 10 minutes early and the next is 15 minutes late. Service ends at like 5 PM on Saturdays, and there's none on Sundays. The on-demand Arrow service is great in concept, but unusable in practice. There just aren't enough drivers/vehicles to keep up with demand over such a large area. If you can even reserve a spot at all, it'll be for 1.5+ hours from then, but has a good chance of arriving either late or early. The program either needs way more funding or to be scrapped entirely. As of now it's a waste of resources. I don't think a single driver enjoys their job, and many seem to enjoy inconveniencing passengers. The average SF Muni driver is nicer than these folks. Oh, and this is the only public transit system I've ever used where transferring from one bus line to another requires paying a second fare! Possibly the only good thing RT has going for it is that it only costs $1.50 to ride, and so $3 for a trip really isn't that exorbitant compared to anywhere else, but I'd rather the fare be $2.50 with free transfers or something. I do rely on this transit line as I am unable to drive , and unfortunately these drivers do not take the safety of the passengers at hand while operating the bus lines. For example, I have been getting followed of the bus by a certain erratic passenger who never keeps a mask on and is always trying to sit next to me and get my attention. Plus with that, I try to signal to the driver on the M route when this is happening that I am uncomfortable, but they don't care. This guy now knows what stop I get off at and I have to hide at a Starbucks nearby. It's just hard as I wish safety was a larger concern. read more

I'm really enjoying the stress free commute from Roseville to downtown Sacramento. The bus comes and picks me up from a safe lot conveniently down the street from my house and so far has always been very prompt. I head on in and take a seat and that's basically it. The bus is usually about half full so there's plenty of room to stretch. The drivers even turns off the lights so you can sleep, read, or write Yelp reviews while on the commute. It's a great way for me to catch up! On the route I take, I'm the first stop of travelers getting on and pretty much the last stop off and it takes about an hour. But with door to door service that's pretty amazing! Especially when the weather is bad (rainy or foggy). The regular cost is $32.50 (for 10 rides) or $110 (for 30 days) but with my state department's subsidy it's about 75% off! They're really trying to encourage other ways to commute into downtown because as most of you know, there is no parking! Definitely can't complain about that! That's cheaper than paying per day in a lot or feeding the meter every 2 hours! The only thing you need to do is show your Roseville city bill at the Roseville transit office so they have proof you're a resident and they will take you're pic and make you a pass. You can either purchase your ticket at that office or your place of employment if they offer it. For me with all the traveling I do, I think I've found my perfect solution to the parking problem downtown, especially when I'm only in town half of the month. I have yet to take the bus home, which I heard is a little more crowded but I'll have to try it one of these days. read more

I don't care what people say about riding public transportation. It is different in Roseville. Maybe it is because the new bus designs look so cool. The Local service is good... and the Commuter service to downtown Sacto is AWE-some. It's like a huge limo taking you and a bunch of strangers to work. They just need some WiFi and then Roseville Transit will be 5-stars. read more

I have lived in numerous places and experienced public transportation in all of them because I am unable to drive. And all I have to say about Roseville Transit is that it is the WORST, BY FAR. I have been living in this town for 2 weeks and have yet to have 1 positive experience on the bus. The drivers are rude (80% of them) and if you ask them a question they'll do all they can to make you feel stupid and like you should already know. They must have changed all their route times, cause their arrival and departure times differ from Google maps all by over 10 minutes. Also, right now there is construction going on at the transfer point to the next county is just not therr (and when I inquired with the driver, not only did he know nothing, neither did his supervisor). They are always late by atleast 5 mins, and won't allow drinks on their buses ( so if you just bought something to drink while you were waiting for the bus you're just out that $5. Last but not least they don't run until 6 in the morning and stop running sunglasses at 5 at night during the week during the weekend it's even worse and they don't even run at all on Sundays just because their drivers seem to have God complexes does it mean they deserve a day of rest. Basically if you're reading this I recommend you do what I'm going to do and that's spend twice as much money bye buying an Uber gift card and using that to go everywhere instead of giving the money to this agency that treats its Riders like crap. read more

Compared to Placer County Bus Roseville Transit drivers are some very mean and insensitive set of people. They will kick you off for a penny short. $1.50 it seems is a big deal to them. They don't care whether you have an infant or newborn or crippled etc, they are very unfriendly and rude. For some reason they all look very odd. Nothing friendly about them at all. They act like they own the business and always want to make extra rules of their own. If I could help it, I would not ride Roseville busses at all. read more

Roseville transit sucks swamp water. The buses run every half hour(they should run every 15 minutes), and not at all on Sunday. How abysmal! And needing a transit ambassador to teach you how to use the transit system????? Are you fucking kidding me? It's a bad system if you NEED a transit ambassador to show you the ropes!! It takes forever to get anywhere, and you're SOOL if you want to do something on the weekend. And why no transfer system when you pay your fare? It's one way fare or a day pass, or a monthly pass only. This makes no sense to me. Shame on you Roseville for putting this "system" together and into place. AND shame on you, the CITIZENS of Roseville for putting up with it. read more

This job is trash. Only apply here if you are desperate for a check, other than. That dont get comfortable as your position here is only secured if you are not behind the wheel. There is no room for advancement, seniority ran and there only ten good routes that allow you to work 8 full hours and go home. This place is so stressful I'm surprised no one has walk in and blew the place up. They dont want you there they will make sure theyll do anything to get rid of you. Job treats you like crap. No work life balance low pay at 15.00 an hour and you are a class b driver think they're missing a few more dollars. Supervisor bend over backward for complaints but did nothing for the driver. Everytime you turn around a new rule was implemented another headache. So many people quit here within the time I work here its ridiculous now I see why read more

Drivers are always pretty mean, i usually dont let that get to me because maybe theyre just having a bad day but today i took the placer bus from sierra college and the placer bus driver knew i needed to get on the roseville one next and when they know, they usually communicate that theres a person who needs a specific bus when theyre running a few minutes behind schedule.
