I stopped in for a burger and a Guinness. Both were very good. The burger was cooked to my liking and juicy and hot. The crew was enjoying vulgarities that would make a sailor blush. Having heard many of these words before I was able to persevere. Rosie's is purported to be an Irish pub and I guess it fits the bill but it is quite dark inside and has that sour beer odor. 5-22-23 9:30/10:30pm This place was in walking distance from our hotel and we wanted a drink. It's a Monday night and ever place is dead including this place. Personally it was a quaint local bar. Hubby ordered Gin and Tonics and I got a couple of Blue Moons. I could imagine if you are a local it would be fun. However since we aren't from here it wasn't. The beers are cold and prices are low. My friend and I stopped in for a quick drink before yoga and had a good experience. The sports pub was pretty empty except for a small group on the other end of the bar. Our waitress was attentive and made solid small talk. I enjoyed my canned cider. It was unique which I appreciated. I hate when restaurants only offer what everybody else offers, which I can buy at Publix or Walmart. The pub is located in a fairly sizable shopping center, with an excellent Thai restaurant right next-door, a grocery store, a yoga studio, Wet Willies, a Mexican restaurant, a running store, and so much more. read more

One poor bartender when it's a Marines' birthday in a marine training town. It could have been a total disaster but this bar pulled it off with karaoke flair. He was so sweet that he double checked that the fryers were still on and brought me out not one but two corn dogs! He also made me a random sweet drink when my first three requests fell flat. The karaoke ambiance was friendly and pretty diverse from classic country to modern rock. They even let us put in a few show tunes early on before it picked up. If you like to sing, though, get there early. Once there's a crowd, you can't get back on the stage until everyone else has gone. It's an almost unbearable wait if all you want to do is sing and dance. Next time I'm in Beaufort I will be back! read more

The food was fine when we finally got it... I understand that wait times are longer now days but an hour for a burger and fries! The waitress did her best but was the only one there. Then the manager/owner came over and asked how everything was and we said good but we sure had to wait a long time. He informed us it was because they had a large table come in before us and WHAT DID WE EXPECT? Sorry would have been fine. But his SURLY ATTITUDE lost him two future customers. We tried Rosie O'Grady's for something different and were pleasantly surprised! The staff was spot on.. place was run like a well oiled machine. It had a neighborhood bar friendly feel w good eats. We tried the wings, fries and conch fritters. They normally serve a conch fritter w the fish n chips but we asked for an order of them. They look deceiving in the picture.. wow, so good!! Their fish & chips were delicious! Their batter was light and crispy, and fish tasted fresh. Their yum yum sauce is amazing, and portions are generous. My husband got the Reuben, and lets just say it was too good to grab a photo of for this review. Our waiter was kind, and welcomed us to town. The bar has a small-town feel, with lots of interesting decor. It was a bit dark, but that might be your cup of tea? My husband says it's exactly how an Irish Pub should be. He says the cherry on top would be if they played old Irish music, but they played Tyler Childers (his favorite artists) so we were pretty satisfied. This has to be the nastiest restaurant/bar I've ever been in. We stopped by after a quick Google search for nearby places to eat, sounded ok online. Once to sat down and orders two beers both my wife and I went to the restroom(s). After seeing how filthy the restroom(s) where we started to look around the establishment only to be further alarmed to see dirty tables, sticky floor, glasses with old lipstick stains on them. This is def a locals bar. You can tell that if you've ever been into any bar in America. But the service for us tourists was good and friendly enough to go back. First night just drinks. Nothing fancy here beers and liquor. Your basics. No drink menu or special cocktails. Beer was cold. Liquor was not watered down. Bartender was friendly and service was typically friendly. Second night beer and food. We got 12 wings. Bowl of gumbo. And fried mushrooms. Wings were cooked on point crisp and juicy. Had Jamaican jerk and orange wasabi. Jerk was delicious. Orange wasabi was ehhh good. Gumbo was so good I could've had two bowl. Fried mushroom breading was crunchy just right and mushrooms were not at all slimy or mushy. Food was very good. I read the reviews. I headed the warnings. Perhaps I was infiltrated by the pool aficionados, but I enjoyed my time here. There are some positives and negatives. Lets start with the positives: Cheap beer- I walked in and sat at the bar. I began consuming the glorious beverage known to us Americans as beer. Quick history: Beer is one of the oldest beverages humans have produced, dating back to at least the fifth millennium BC. The people of yore thought the beer was manna from heaven because it spontaneously fermented and became an alcoholic, delicious, wonderful beverage that has changed the landscape human history. Little did these simpletons know that there was a scientific process to producing great beer. My digression has lead to the inability of Rosie O Grady (could one be more stereotypical? Perhaps Patrick O'Hanahan was taken?) to produce anything close to a British or English beer. Guinness you say? Tapped out. Bass? Sure, in the bottle, but so does Buffalo Wild Wings. Boddingtons in that beautiful golden hued can? Not a chance. I suppose this is still a positive because its cheap. Decent food: I had a Reuben sandwich and it was quite tasty. Perhaps the fast I put myself through, or the 4 beers I downed prior, or the camaraderie and competition that is associated with a heated game of billiards, got me where I need to be, but I enjoyed the place. My sandwich was tasty and the frozen fries hit the spot. My sandwich had some cold meat in it, but I was not perturbed or thrown astray. Negatives: I tried a draft beer and it was awful. It was very apparent that the draft lines have not been cleaned since the ancient Egyptians first discovered this wonderful elixir. I had one draft beer and tapped out, on to the bottled beer. My sandwich, supposed to be warm, had some cold spots in it. Cold meat in a hot sandwich is not appealing. I ate the damn thing because I was four minutes away from Damien or Exorcist territory, but I wasn't happy with the food. Not necessarily a negative, but everyone in this place was a barfly. I was the only outsider, so I was like the red haired white guy walking into First Emmanuel AME: lets just say I was out of place. I was able to mingle with the natives and procure some games of pool (BTW, I was paired with some nimrod who was already drunk at 6pm, so I carried the "team" to two wins). I think everyone in the place was already drunk so fodder they became. Anyhoo, if you like the bar atmosphere, which I do, this isn't a bad place. If you are looking for refined, or even sanitary conditions, slide on past. read more

Went the day after Christmas while visiting my sister's family. We left the house hoping to have some authentic low-country cuisine. After finding absolutely nothing open we chose to eat here over the chain places. We had a 2 year old and a newborn in tow and my 2 yo nephew proceed to trip and begin to cry. The bartender/owner asked if she could give him m&ms and opened the pool table so he could push the balls around while we waited. (Found out she's a fellow Philly area native) We weren't so sure what to expect food wise but everything was very good. My burger was a tad overcooked but the toppings were great(Samuel l chili burger), my mom got excellent fish and chips and the pastrami Reuben was solid. Realistically the food is probably 3.5-4 stars but the overall experience definitely merits the 5 star review. Also had lots of TVs and great bar games. If I lived in the area this would definitely be my local sports bar. read more

AVOID! This place was recommended to us by the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn. Service upon arrival was slow. When we walked in we saw only one person working behind the bar. We made ourselves to the only clean table we saw, which we still asked to be cleaned once the bartender/waitress came our way. The place is FILTHY. I took a restroom break and walked around a bit while waiting for our food and major areas of the pub were disgusting (including the reeking restrooms). I had fish and chips and my wife had a corned beef sandwich. They were fine. The only thing Irish about this place is the name. We were staying at the Hampton Inn a couple blocks away so we walked over after dinner for a few drinks. We stopped at a high top table (1 of 3 tables in the entire place by the way) and my wife went to the restroom. When she came out we had still not been acknowledged by the staff. It was obvious the two bartenders, who were leaning on their elbows on the bar, were not going to ask for our order so she went to the bar and ordered. There was 9 people in the entire place and two bartenders. This should have been a clue for us. The drinks were ok but nothing special. Small plastic cups but prices were relevant. We decided we would finish the first drink and find a better spot. HOWEVER, within a few minutes the REAL entertainment started - karaoke. Holy crap, it was like watching a train wreck. We couldn't stop watching. It wasn't worth hanging out but it was entertaining nonetheless. Not only are the burgers great - but owners (husband/wife team) and their staff are wonderful as well! We've been there on two different occasions now - (thanks to the review we read in the local paper) and have been impressed both times! Place is nothing fancy - but that often times is where you find some of the best food! We encourage you to check it out! Owners are hands on and work hard - and make you feel very welcome and at home. Trivia game you can play at the bar is allot of fun as well!
