This place was out of this world. We are visiting from Philadelphia and wanted to check the restaurant out and we were blown away. The food was so good. The cocktails were even better. Care was put into every single item served to us and we were so thrilled to visit. Great spot

Bluffton just got itself a secret worth spilling -- this speakeasy is the real treat. From the moment you slip inside, it feels like you've ducked into your own little hideaway. The music hums at that perfect "I can still hear you" level, the lighting is moody without trying too hard, and the whole place has that wink‑wink charm. The cheeky small plates? Total scene‑stealers. Fun, clever, snackable -- the kind of bites you keep reaching for even while you're mid‑story. The bar is shaking up colorful twists on the classics, each one tasting like the bartender knew exactly what you needed before you did. Staff is bright, quick, and genuinely into what they're doing, which makes the whole experience feel even more alive. For a spot that's only been open a few weeks, it's already carved out a bold little detour from the Bluffton norm. We loved the speakeasy side of things, and now we're counting down until we can sit down for a full dinner in the restaurant next.

Beautiful building. Very nicely appointed. Parking is very limited. We had good service. But food was pricey and limited selection. Drinks were good. But the noise in the dining room was EXTREMELY LOUD! Could not hardly hold a conversation. Food was ok but it was a little disappointing. Will probably give it a second chance before I take it off the list.

Atmosphere. A $600 bill for 6 people should get you a feeling of satisfaction. The noise level was awful. Never going back

You can spend $300 on a dress or everything on the menu including a generous tip and dessert! Food you CANNOT REPLICATE OR ATTEMPT TO MAKE AT HOME. A favorite feature of mine. And service that is worth a Gold star for bringing it to the next level. We love eating upstairs but downstairs is just as nice! I'm hoping they will always be here because this is our favorite! Best chicken I have ever had... to this day. And I NEVER order chicken because it's usually dry, not at The Farm. We also LOVE THEIR MOCKTAILS! Best way to feats and have the best experience in Bluffton!

We only had drinks at Calhoun, but they did make me a GREAT spicy margarita. It was one of the best I've had. Huge thanks to the hostess who made it happen for me. She was great!

A little background: The inside usually smells awful, they need to fix the kitchen vent hoods but don't so they leave all doors open. The hostess is usually pretty curt and dismissive. Simple well liquor cocktails are priced the same as specialty. The food is disappointing to varying degrees every time. The prime rib is clearly (admittedly high quality) roast beef lunch meat. Fried chicken sandwich was dry and burned. Shrimp and grits were obviously instant grits with a bunch of kraft cheddar. Usually three strikes and you're out. But... On my last visit: a friend's band was playing and bestie wanted to go so one last shot. I ordered the whipped goat cheese and pepper jelly bc I figured it didn't need any cooking so it would be fine, and it was! But I asked for baguette instead of a corn waffle and got the latter. When I reminded her that I asked for a baguette I got an eye roll, heavy sigh, and didn't see her again until about 30 minutes later when she silently and without eye contact dropped the check on her way to another table without even breaking stride. I was going to order another drink for the end of the set! But whatever, all for the best. Thank goodness I had cash so I didn't have to wait another hour for her to run my card. Never again. Too many great options close by...where the same local bands also play.

From the moment we walked in, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The hostess graciously worked us in, even though they were not expecting us. When I asked if we could move outside because we had an infant with us and didn't want to disturb other diners, the manager couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. He moved our table without hesitation and made us feel like it was a pleasure--not an inconvenience. Our server, Andreas, was absolutely exceptional. His attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care elevated an already wonderful meal. By the time we left, we felt like family. The food was incredible from start to finish, but the baked ricotta appetizer deserves a special mention--I would come back just for that! Thank you to Andreas and the entire team at Joelle for your outstanding hospitality! Experiences like this are rare, and you have earned customers for life.

We reserved a table inside but it was very noisy so we asked our server if we could move outside instead. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. For an appetizer we got the burrata - nothing special but good. I wish there had been a couple more pieces of bread with it. For my main I got the orecchiette tre porcellini and was warned beforehand that it had a slight spice to it. It definitely did have a little kick but nothing I couldn't handle. Very tasty. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great. I enjoyed my first time here and would definitely consider coming back. Someone near us got a pizza that looked amazing so I'd like to try one of those next. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 doesn't even have anything to do with the restaurant itself. Once before entering the building and multiple times while we were inside, we received stares from numerous different customers. They were all admittedly uppity-looking. It felt like we had eyes on us the whole time. One woman even did a full 180 turn at the bar to glance at us (I could see the bar area from outside when the sun started going down). I'm not sure if this restaurant is frequented more by locals who aren't used to seeing outside people; I live an hour outside Bluffton. But that just kind of dampened the entire experience and made it a bit uncomfortable. We weren't doing or wearing anything to draw attention. And that may very well have been a one-off situation but still something to note.

The place captures old Southern charm with a modern artistic twist, featuring colorful paintings, minerals, and artwork. However, the music that evening didn't really match the Southern motif or aesthetics. Our waitress was courteous and helpful, answering our questions. Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, it took a while to get our order, partly because the waitress was alone, and the manager--who barely acknowledged us and was mostly on her phone--was present. When the food finally arrived, the portions were generous. I had fried fish, though I couldn't tell if it was catfish. It came with French fries, a hush puppy tasting like fried dough, coleslaw that seemed to have sat out too long and was small in portion, and fried okra with little seasoning, tasting more of flour than cornmeal breading. This was disappointing, though it might reflect "Low Country" cooking. Overall, the restaurant seemed to emphasize branding and decor over authentic history. The best South Carolina cuisine I found was near Saint Helena Island, close to some historic sites, where the food was noticeably better and the vibe felt genuine, especially in spots rich with landmarks.
