The eye doctor does a good job, but the pre exam screening is performed by the same staff that do everything else. Not sure of their credentials in screening because nothing is posted. I ordered contacts over a month ago and still don't have them. Yes, it was just as the holidays were starting, but now it's almost the end of January. I dropped in 2 weeks ago to inquire about them and was told they will be in in a couple of days and they will call. my instinct is telling me they were never ordered. I phoned them today which is 11 days later and am told that they are a special order and will take longer And they will text when they are in. I have never waited this long ever and asked for my contact prescription. Was told they will call me back about it. I already paid and will be demanding a refund for the order and going elsewhere for contacts from now on. read more

OMG! I wish I would have looked at these reviews before taking my two daughters there 2 years ago. I let this part slide without voicing my frustration but today I had another issue that I am furious about! First, I cannot believe that a business could be so unprofessional and rude in front of us talking in Spanish so we could not understand them but my daughter might be blonde and blue eyed but she has a school background in Spanish and she told me for sure they were talking about us! Like I said, I let this go. Anyway, we got the new prescriptions from the eye doctor end of May 2019 and decided to call 800-contacts (who are great in customer service!) instead of paying an additional $800+ to Rosin up and beyond my insurance since they have an uncharge to EVERYTHING!!! Unfortunately, today I was informed by 800-contacts they were out of one of my daughters prescriptions so they said they would reach out to the eye doctor to see if my daughter could get a few to last her until they came in. They said NO to them so I decided to call myself and it turns out that Rosin's assistant manager Karina and Manager Judy refused to help my daughter since we don't "buy" through them and that she would have to come in and pay for another eye doctor visit!!!! UNBELIEVABLE! We only needed ONE eye's prescription or to change the brand so she could see! So for "7 contacts" they lost my business! What happened to customer service and helping someone out in need. I WILL NEVER go back to Rosin Eye Care again...any of their locations!! read more

The worst customer service you will ever experience! Go anywhere else! Doctors are great but the rest of the staff is a joke. Tried for almost 2 months to order contacts left message after message. Finally someone answers the phone by saying Hello. Completely unprofessional. Explain how long I have been calling no apology no concern but I need a manager to place order. Big shocker no call back. Couple more weeks of calls same unprofessional rep answers, this time she can take my order. It was 10/18. 10 days later no contacts no call. I Physically go to office on Orchard to sit while 3 people act like they are looking for contacts that were clearly never ordered. I finally ask which one of you is going to tell me they were never ordered. The manager Nancy tells me she will "reorder" them now and will call me. Again no call no contacts. 11/24 I call again actually someone answers again with just hello. She tells me the contacts are of stock and will be in at end of December! No call no email I have to track them down. I had enough and explained all that has gone on. No apology no concern. Said they would refund me and that they sent an email. Big surprise no email. Note - even tho Yelp shows the Galena location closed, (which is true), they have moved to 1460 N Orchard Rd - just south of I88. We are relatively new in town, and had our eyes checked at the old location in 2016. Was an OK experience despite the place being tired and run-down. Earlier this week, I received a phone call from their corporate wanting to schedule appointments for my wife and myself. Impressive. We were able to get appointments in before December 31. Very pleased. Today, TWO days later, I received a voice mail stating since they were unable to confirm our appointments, they were cancelling our appointments. WHAT??? This place is horrible. The people are rude. Not once did they tell me they moved location. Office small, hot. Limited seating. Nothing to read or watch. Appt was at 545. We were there at 500. Seen at 615. Rushed through out at 650. The prices are inflated, they have no sample lens to show you. Office chick took off her glasses to show her lens. Only reason I came back. Insurance pays eye exam that I'm sure isn't done correctly. Neither prescription changed on kids. Mine changes every year. Kids exams were $145$. She didn't dilate eyes. Do not come here. Glasses from last year took almost 2 weeks to arrive. America's best. They have lens samples, a variety of glasses and the prices are great. The store informed me I was covered by VSP insurance for my eye care and glasses from a company I stopped working for eight years ago. I told them that I am no longer covered by the VSP insurance because I am not paying the premiums because I am no longer with the company that offered me the insurance. Natalie, who I spoke with on the phone, said I should go ahead and have my eye exam and buy my eye glasses using the VSP insurance which I no longer am covered by. I explained that this would be fraud. Natalie's response was basically, "so." A few days later a different employee called me and tried to push Rosin's Eye Care services on me. I explained the fraud situation and the employee didn't seem to understand the concept of fraud. On an unrelated note, the store is closed on Wednesdays. read more

Buyer beware! This is the worst customer service I've received in a long time. I scheduled my appointment with rosin Eyecare in Aurora over a week ago. When I scheduled my appointment I went over my insurance and my price match intentions and I was told everything lined up and they scheduled my appointment. I get in today and I filled out all the paperwork and I show them my price match and they deny me. I request to speak with a manager and told they do not have a manager that they are out on maternity leave. So I have them call another store in Naperville and speak with that manager. That manager tells me if price is my concern to go online and that the lowest they can match is $28 a box not the $15.78 they had told me a week earlier. I then request to have her boss contact me because I want to know who's responsible for scheduling my appointment and not being honest with me about what they could price match. Their Director of Professional Services, Nicholas Chiaramonti O.D., calls me and proceeds to tell me to take my business elsewhere, they cannot price match, and that if I don't leave the establishment he will call the police. They lied to me on purpose to get me into the office and then when I get upset and request an explanation and request them to honor their word they threatened me! Please be careful when you consider Rosin Eyecare and know they are not honest! read more

I just moved to Illinois and got new insurance. Had to call and find someplace that accepted mine. They were extremely helpful and easy to schedule with. The service was good. I didn't have to wait long at all once I arrived for my appointment and everyone was friendly. Doctor was very thorough. They got my daughter and I both taken care of in a timely manner. When I told them that I order my glasses online, they remained friendly and not pushy like a lot of places when they realize they aren't going to get your money. read more

I have been very patient during COVID but for the past 6 months or more I have been increasingly frustrated with this location. They NEVER answer the phone, say they're closed when they are supposed to be open, inconsistently return phone calls and orders take weeks longer than they claim. The last time I was in the office and sitting in the waiting room there were 2 employees at the desk and the phone rang on at least 3 separate occasions and neither answered the phone. I have been sitting outside in my car and called as they request, watching the receptionist not answering the phone and have had to stand at the door and call while looking in for them to answer. I have ordered replacement contacts and it took a month and a half and 4 phone calls that resulted in them having to reorder them each time and now I've been waiting 3 weeks for my full order of contacts when they said it would be 1 and not surprisingly I can't get ahold of the office. I will say that once in the office, I have no issues with the staff or their professionalism, however I cannot stress enough how frustrating every other aspect of this location has been. read more

We had to get glasses for my 3 year old and the staff was very nice to us. The only thing I had an issue with was they told me to just come in. There was no appointment. So when we came in we sat for about 20-25 minutes before we were seen. I should also add that we just had to get the glasses from here. I'm not sure if the staff has all turned over since the last review or if people are just angry about their lives but I had a great experience in the one in Glen Ellyn and we needed a last minute appointment to finally get my wife in for an eye exam. The staff was friendly and they happily put up with my preschooler romping around the store and even let her try on glasses. I was there to get my replacement glasses and i was a total indecisive pain in the butt about choosing new frames since they didnt make my frames anymore and the staff was patient with me and I had 3 people helping me find a pair that worked. read more

Despite the abundance of communication that I initiated regarding insurance, coverage, billing, etc, the staff at Rosin failed to accurately convey the appropriate information. The day after a 3 way phone conversation with Rosin employee Karina, my insurance company, and myself, my husband and I show up for our appointments to find out to our surprise that Rosin will not "bill insurance". Regardless of our 100% coverage confirmed by Karina, we were told at check in that we would need to pay out of pocket all expenses. The receptionists only other comment was "well Karina was supposed to call you". I immediately cancelled both appointments and we will not return! I went to the Rosin in West Aurora after the store where I had my exam told me she was unable to tell me how much of my exam, lenses, frames would be covered by my insurance. I walked in to Rosin with my prescription and insurance card and it took her 5 minutes to get that information. Told me the exact amount allowed. She showed me frames that would enable me to stay within that range. Found some (with her help - actually all the girls who didn't have customers were helping). Got the order written up. She told me when they would be ready. They called a day or two earlier than promised. Glasses are great. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. I ordered two pairs of glasses that cost me out of pocket $650 even after insurance coverage. The frames were the same style, different colors. Within a week the screws would come loose on the lenses and the lenses would fall out while I was wearing the glasses! Needless to say the lenses got scratched. I paid for the scratch resistance insurance so I took them in. They replaced one lens. By this time the second pair I had been wearing while the first pair was being repaired had also done the same thing. At first I was told they would let me choose new frames since these were defective. Then they changed their mind and said they would put screw lock on the screws. Leave the second pair to be fixed, pick up the first and in less than a day it happens again. I bring that pair in again and ask to speak to a manager. Not available. The associates go speak to her but she won't come out and speak with me. Bottom line... they are over priced, give terrible service and don't stand behind their product. I finally just left the glasses the last time and never bothered to pick them up. Went back to Costco and got two pairs of glasses with the same quality lenses and coatings for $479 before any insurance reimbursement. read more

This was a provider recommended by my insurance. unprofessional office staff, especially in the way that they dress. One of the girls looked like she just got in from a night of partying, all sparkles and hot pink bra showing. That aside, very pushy sales pitch on their service package. The doctor was nice and seemed competent, but used some kind of numbing drops in my eyes before giving me contacts to try. Well, they felt great, but my eyes were numb! Turned out they were the most uncomfortable contacts I've ever worn. Had to come back in for another appointment to have them switched. I had to wait 30 mins for the doctor. I never got a call telling me the contacts were in. When I called about this the girl on the phone argued with me saying she had called. Turns out she had called about the original contacts, not the replacements. Just unprofessional all around, won't go back. read more

First this place is super expensive. for contacts 1800 contacts is only $64 per box compare to $79 per box at Rosin. Such a rip off. Also this place is misleading and dishonest the staff told me I was covered with my insurance but three months later got a bill from them saying I wasn't covered. WOW why did you tell me I was covered back then?!! When I decided to return some contacts because they were overpriced. The manger was rude and wouldn't even give me the return receipt. I have VSP insurance and this store was listed as taking my plan. I have purchased glasses from them in the past, and have had numerous problems. They tell you 7 to 10 days to get your glasses. I have yet to get my glasses in that time frame. The last time it was a month and the staff blamed VSP. I contacted VSP only for them to tell me that the store never submitted my glasses. The store blamed bookkeeping---stated I over paid. What that has to do with it; I have no idea. Recently, I needed new glasses. It has been several years since I went there, so I thought I would try again. Placed an order for new glasses (only gave the 50% as VSP directed) and again, do not have my glasses in the time frame given. I questioned the young lady and all she could tell me is that they are not expecting my glasses until possibly later this week. Not satisfactory. Do not give a time frame you cannot honor. I am sure the delay is because even though I placed my order 10 business days ago, my frames were not shipped until days later so they can consolidate. Again, do not give a time frame you cannot honor.
