I used Ross | Carreiro | Brown CPAs for tax preparation and advisory services. In June 2025 I paid $1,933.59 in person to close my account before relocating out of state and was explicitly told my balance was paid in FULL. Two months later, I was contacted and told I owed more money. The balance then changed multiple times -- first I was told $800. Then, AFTER a "50% discount," I was told the amount owed was $1,193! There was no clear or coherent explanation. Invoices issued months later included "Income Tax Return" charges despite my prior payment and being told the account was closed, making the billing appear retroactive and inconsistent. Communication was slow and unreliable despite repeated follow-ups. I was told the head CPA, George, would get back to me about my billing dispute once he was back from vacation. Two months went by before I reached out again and heard anything. I made a reasonable, good-faith offer to resolve the matter if a final invoice confirming no remaining balance was issued. That never happened. Instead, billing continued, including yet another invoice sent in January 2026. Their billing practices are confusing, delayed, and poorly managed. I would avoid them, but if you don't, I strongly caution you to scrutinize invoices carefully and not assume that being told an account is "paid in full" actually ends billing. Document everything. This was not a good experience - on top of their already exorbitant fees. read more

What??? Bizzare people and business! Booked a consultation with this company. Such crazy systems, and totally unprofessional presentation. I booked a $395.00 meeting with them, i filled out a very detailed form with my SS number, home address, and all personal details. I spent an hour preparing for the meeting. At first they wanted me to use zoom, which i did. On the video I asked if there was a more secure option as this consultation was very personal, private information about my business and finances. They had no secure options so i suggested a phone call. Then when they got on the phone, it was all very strange. They forgot to send me the correct engagement letter, then demanded I sign it while on the phone ( 3 pages) when I asked for time to reveiw the document, was told its standard, just sign! When I inquired if there was time for me to review, then have the meeting was told he didn't have time and they hung up on me! I don't understand these 5 star reveiws, except to say they are all about 5 years old. read more

George and his team are fast, efficient, and knowledgeable. His office even filed an extension for us without us having to ask specifically. This helped us avoid a late filing penalty, and I appreciate that as a busy business owner. They even offered to send a staff member to SLO to get my signature on a return that needed to be filed that day. Who does that anymore? I am super picky about my accountant, so I will continue this post after I have seen the bill, but so far George Ross and his team have my respect! George Ross is a great accountant and his office is on top of it. Several times I have had tax filings that could have been late, but his office is on top of it to file extensions if I need them. My corporation tax return is always really tricky, but he and his team get it done quickly and efficiently... And on time. read more
