I always love a good bargain and a good deal. I hadn't been to this location in quite some time. I stopped by today after work and the store was fairly organized and well stocked. I found some things! It wasn't super busy so I was in and out. The service was good with a very friendly cashier. The parking lot however is a bit hectic and crazy I've noticed a lot of the other Ross locations that I visited, the dress sections are weird now where they have some low, some high and it's very annoying but this location doesn't do that and I'm grateful read more

Customer Service depends on who's on shift. One day, customer service is great, another day, they're not letting in my elderly mom because she has an iced coffee during a time of unusually hot weather. There's also no peace of mind to be had while shopping considering the constant blaring reminders to keep the store tidy. I admit their seasonal items are rare and well-priced however, just not worth the varying customer service and ambience. read more

This store needs a makeover. Either that or a more efficient manager to get this place in shape. There are items on the floor everywhere. Stock in the pet department is extremely scarce compared to TJ Maxx. Same goes for the food department which consists of two shelves about six feet long. Same goes for the beauty supplies. Hardly any brand names. There was only one item I was considering buying but the line to purchase was a huge deterrent. I will sick with TJ Maxx and Home Goods. I'm not a fan of Marshall, but Marshall's makes this place look like Cinderella pre-ball transformation. read more

It's a decent ROSS, I've seen worser locations. You can find some deals like any discount store. A lot of clothing is disorganized. Some might be in clearance that isnt marked down. Rolling racks are always blocking aisles, which is annoying. Fitting room for the most part is clean. Shoe department, i say avoid. Its an accident waiting to happen. Customers try on shoes and leave them on the floor. Smh. Like people act as if this place offers maid services. Employees are non existent on the sales floor. Any questions you may have take it to the registers. The lines are long on the weekends. I say try going during the week. Good luck if you come here on a Saturday. read more

Came on an early Sunday morning to beat the crowds. Clothes were just all over the place. There were a lot of clothes to choose from, just Sizes were mixed in all together. Made it a bit difficult to find the things I was truly looking for. There was a store cleaner who was sweeping the floors and it was a big pike of trash mess. I did find a few pieces that I was looking for. Fitting room was closed. Free parking lot out-front. read more

Pack your patience! I write this review as I stand in a long a sugah sugah line that began at the back of the store. Ross is great for finding items at greatly discounted prices. This location is no exception, you have to be prepared to seek and understand you will find. Like most Ross', this locale is not in the best condition, things are all over the place, but if you go to the general vicinity you should (stresses should) find what you're looking for. I was able to find what I was looking for and was pleased. The staff, specifically a hard of hearing gent went out of his way to help, which I thoroughly appreciated. I did not appreciate seeing two staff members chatting it up personal issues while I was standing in the line and my hair was graying. No worries though, I know what to expect and I'm sure I'll return in my search to acquire a great deal. read more

I went to the Ross store in Greenbelt Md on 10-28-2022. I had several Dresses Inwanted to try on aT the dresses. The Dressing room was closed. We asked about it and the manager was no help. Eeek! This store deserves a special badge on their yelp page - worst Ross store of all time. I love Ross - don't get me wrong. Obsessed, in fact. So naturally, when I saw this location, I made a beeline for it. The layout is different from any Ross store I've been in - doesn't much make sense, to be honest. Men's shoes when you walk in?? Uh - no. Women's shoes should be within eyesight. #duh The shoe section - oh god. Don't pay any attention to the size signs. In the aisle that supposedly contains size 5, you will find sizes 7 & 10. In the section for size 9 1/2, you will find size 5 & slippers. In the hair & makeup section - I had to move multiple "reshop" carts out of the way to reach something I wanted to buy. Oh, don't let me forget about the wallets. I've been looking for a new wallet - while searching through their selection, I naturally tried to line them up in a more visually pleasing fashion - & in a way that people could actually SEE the wallets. A security guard came & hovered over me. I guess he thought I was acting suspicious. Apparently he hadn't ever seen someone DO THEIR JOB before. #burn Now - did the utter disarray, disorganization & general messiness of this store keep me from loading up a cart?? Of course not. Found a great purse, a cute pair of flats, a pair of lucky brand moccasins, 2 sunglasses cases, a winter coat, & hair clips, despite the atmosphere. Damn you, Ross. Would get 1 star, but I was able to convince the clerk (despite her every attempt to not understand the english language) to give me 10% off the purse I found because the zipper pull had broken off. read more

This has got to be the Ross store that is owned by the Paris Hilton of the family. This is seriously one of the disorganized stores of all the Ross stores I've been to (which isn't all that many granted). I was second in line the other day, and there was a customer at each of the two registers. Fine. Half an hour later, I was in the same spot, and the line now reached half way back the store. And we didn't move. Some people don't use shopping carts at that store, and some do. There were 7 carts in line behind me, and at least 15 people. I think everyone there has the name tag "Honey Badger" because they just don't give a **** about customer service. read more

I am writing on behalf of my wife who doesn't speak much English, to complain about a return that went wrong at a Ross store on Greenbelt Road, in Greenbelt, MD. My wife tried to return a DKNY handbag, which she bought in a different shop, at about 6:40 pm in the Ross store in Greenbelt on Sep 19. A shop assistant there carelessly charged that item instead of making a refund, and then put the item in a large plastic bag together with other items that my wife was buying from the store. The shop assistant also threw the original receipt of the handbag away (my wife attached that receipt to the handbag when she was trying to make the return.) Because my wife was distracted at that time for some reason, she did not follow the shop assistant's actions and did not noticed his mistake. Only when she got home, did she find out that the handbag was not returned, it was placed back in the big plastic shopping bag together with other new items, and it was charged, not refunded. On Sep. 20, at about 6:30 pm, I accompanied my wife to the store to complain and ask them to correct their mistake. Both the shop assistant and the store manager refused to listen to our narrative. They asked for the original receipt which we no longer had as it was thrown away by their mistake. As we did not have the receipt, we asked them to check the security cameras to see that my wife brought the handbag in from outside, and it was not an item in the store that she was buying. They did make an attempt to check the tape. But they only checked the portion that showed the transaction at the counter, which did not show the whole story. I repeated asked them to check the tape from the point when my wife entered the shop at the entrance door, but they refused. So, I asked them to check their inventory to see that they did not have that kind of handbag before my wife brought it to the shop. They also refused. As you can see, their mistake made my wife unable to return the bag, and worse, she was charged once more for that bag, and the original receipt was lost too. I and writing to ask the management of higher level to conduct an inspection to verify our story and then correct the mistake by refunding us for the wrong transaction. The Ross at Greenway Plaza is the perfect storm of retail nightmares. Interestingly enough, most of the what makes this store particularly horrible is the clientele that visit here. You'll be guaranteed to find a parent with a screaming child and/or one that allows their child to rip open toys and leave them scattered over the floor. I guess the kids get hyper from all the chocolate that they steal from the store, always leaving at least half a box left for somebody else. Though I can't always blame the kids, the parents do their fair share of leaving the store a mess and opening sealed boxes/packages. The employees there look and act tired... always. And I don't blame them. So don't expect a smile and a friendly hello here, because its not Nordstrom and just look around at the people they have to deal with. Also, if you ever come across a pair of pants that doesn't have a price tag... it's very possible someone switched out their pants and that you're holding some else's pair of dirty pants. I went into the Ross to look around at 9am on a Saturday. I start to find things that I wanted to buy I didn't see any hand baskets so I picked up one of the store stopping bags and put my things in it and continued to shop. The lady from the The register started to say excuse me excuse me ma'am excuse me and I didn't know she was talking to me they were a couple other ladies over near where I was so then the young lady "says is she acting like she don't hear me" so I take it the manager comes over and says I'm sorry mam but that is not a carrying (shopping) bag, I replied "thank you that is all she had to say" and went to pay for the things that they thought I was Stealing. The whole time Loss and prevention was standing there , chatting it up with the young lady at the register and could politely say a thing. I could go into more detail about this this store but I keep that to myself, I can tell you this, I would not shop at this raggedy, good store any more. read more

This location in Greenbelt is the worst. No customer service skills. Today @ 5ish I came into the store where there was only one cashier and the line was wrapped around the store. The store was disorganized and shelves needed to be stocked. I asked the manager, Juanita (mgr on duty) was there any other cashiers. She told me NO. I said I guess I need to go to another location. Her reply, "I guess you should". So instead of her trying to apologize for the lack of help, she was glad for me not to come back, which I will not. There are other Ross stores in the area that I can patronize. I think Ross needs to send Juanita to mgr training class again. After reading the other reviews I am wishing I had seen them before I went to the store. Everything they described was what I saw in the store. RUN!!! read more

There is a system for shopping at Ross. First pick a gender. Second take your cart to the closest aisle. Third travel to your approximate size of clothing. Fourth pick out items you like. Don't even bother pulling it out if you do not recognize the brand name. Fifth check out the shoes underwear and accessories. Go to rear of building and try on items they will only allow you to take six in the dressing room. Lastly, leave all but one item there as you will find you will only find one thing you like, then proceed to the checkout line. I know it is long as crap, but it moves surprisingly quickly. Now luxuriate on how much you saved on your shell top adidas by going to Ross as opposed to paying 50 bucks more at footlocker. read more

I like coming here, yes I like Ross and this is my preferred Ross. You can always find nice things here by not being lazy to search. Prices are always fair but you need to involve a little effort to find your treasure. If you are lazy and you don't feel like putting that minimal curiosity at work then you might not appreciate your Ross shopping experience. If you don't mind digging around then this may be your store because their not very organized. You will have to search and dig but they always have something you may be interested in. And yes, the employees don't have a huge smile on their faces. And if you come early when they are stocking the shelves, you will get pushed out the way so they can put the merchandise on the shelves. 0 stars if I could!! Some places deserve 0, so idk why Yelp does not allow leaving a 0!! Anyhow, I was in there today on a Sunday morning. I wanted to make a return and shop around. I shop for myself and my 2 teens. Every trip, I spend $100-$150 easy, getting clothes for work, and the hoodies and sweats that teens like. I had to return a hoody that was too big for my son. As soon as I walked in, instead of a "Good Morning" or a "Welcome to Ross," the lady yelled out, "Ma'm, food and drinks are not allowed in Ross." I said, that's not a problem, bc all I'm doing is returning." I walked over to the line to make my return, and that was that. I will agree with other reviewers though, this shop is always a mess, sizes are never where they should be. Shoe section--looks like a tsunami passed through. Also security needs work-idk if he's following me because he thinks I'm going to steal?? But if that's the case they need to learn to be more inconspicuous! Quite laughable actually. Ross, you have no $100 or $1000 merchandise in the tore. When I shop in Saks or Bloomies, having a cup WITH a lid is NEVER an issue, bc they know I am spending $$$! No foo--sure, I understand and agree, but a closed cup, sitting in my cart? Well, I guess I should say thank you, bc I left after my return and did not spend my usual $150 on clothes I don't need! So thanks Ross for keeping me on budget! The Ross at Greenway Plaza Shopping Center has become a regular destination for me when I need any sort of clothes or just want to browse around for miscellaneous accessories. Obviously this is no high-end store so if you want to find what you're looking for.. you have to do just that.. look for it - it won't come to you. You may or may not find exactly what you're looking for, but from my experience, I have been pleased with alternative items that the store has to offer. As for the people that shop here - I believe some exaggerate this quite much. I've noticed the customers are very diverse and to themselves. It gets a bit busy as times, but that just shows that the store is kicking very well and keeps the people coming. The customer service is a bit dull, but I tend to sway away from having to depend to much on employees in these kind of department stores because you really can't expect much help sometimes. My mindset is that of when I am in a thrift store. It's all about your vigilance in finding those right things. Overall, I am pleased with the selection. In fact, this is the first Ross I have ever been to, and am glad to have one nearby. read more

this is the worst ross store i have ever been in my life and I will never buy anything from this store again. The greenbelt md manager not even deserve to be a cashier is been hired by the company amazing!!!! How come a manager charge you twice with one merchandise and when you ask her to correct it she is telling the customer that first she have to go at the back and see the camera first. What?? can't you see the number on the receipt with the same price. I have been holding 1 year old baby and she makes me stand over 15 minutes. She came with 2 security and trying to cover their mistake. Never apolized or anything. This store is the worst disorganized store, very unprofessional employees and don't no how to handle their customer. If they hate their job they can quit, but they have no right to disrespect anyone. The company has to watch their employees steeling stuff because they are the one who send their families to steal it for them not the customer.
