After waiting in a long line at the Ala Moana Ross, The sales associate 972575 was so rude. Looked like she was having a bad day and started to take it out on me. She had asked me a question and I replied excuse me? She yelled at me and asked if I need a bag? Then as I was going to start bagging my items, I asked if she rang it up yet and she again yelled, can't you see I didn't remove the tag? (Theft Detector) well it was facing on the other side (a purse I bought). She took so long ringing up batteries that I purchased, finally giving me a total...I'm like I already paid!! My most therapeutic happy place! Absolutely love this Ross Dress for Less location in Kahala Mall, located on the upper deck as this super easily parking is accessible right off the H1 Freeway exit onto Waialae Ave and I never have issues finding parking here. The selections they have here have saved me on countless occasions as I always have second thoughts on wardroom issues, last minute gifting ideas or just the munchies I've found so many great items that many can't believe it and thought it's a search it's totally worth it! Problems are my wandering eyeballs that spot the random items not on the list lol! I do walk away with not just great deal but something you don't find here on the islands, my craft chair is my absolute favorite find and it was at the best price I could find. I'm still in search for some items and am so thankful for the constant flow of inventory though that makes it a challenge to find it and what a rush! Thank you! read more

This ROSS is my favorite because there is usually lots of parking and the store is very organized and clean. There is almost no excuse not to refresh your home, palate or self! The prices and quality overall are very acceptable. They basically have a little of everything except fresh produce and prepared foods. I love their imported food/candy items the best. This Ross is so convenient since there's always free parking so love the location. I came for a last minute craft item which unfortunately their stock was so very diminished I couldn't find anything. But did find their kitchen wares well stocked with stockpots. Unfortunately, things were very jumbled and unusual zip ties on many pots...two pots, lids inseparable and no sales associates to help separate. I struggled to put 2 large 5 gallon pots into my cart, since i only needed 1. So i did leave happily with a great purchase! read more

This Ross seems much nicer than others. There always seems to be a good selection of merchandise and the shelves well stocked. You can comfortably shop without salespeople bothering you. The prices are the best and you can find the most random things. I found a showerhead unit that was $70 cheaper than a similar one i had bought at Lowe's. And I like the Ross one better. Parking and location is very convenient I can never walk by a Ross without going in because you never know what you might find! read more

They put so many security tags on you can't disconnect the tops and bottoms of two piece bathing suits so you can try them on. I have been to this Ross location before but never got a chance to review it. I like this location. I didn't really buy anything but hubby found me a dress on clearance and bought my daughter two dresses on clearance as well. Hubby was looking for shirts to wear in the mainland for our trip in a couple of weeks. The inside was clean and organized. Items were easy to find. However the racks seem so close together that it's hard to walk around and move around in the store. Had to dock off a star for that but when we stood in line, the line went fairly quickly. They had 4 registers open. Checking out was easy and quick. Parking was available up front. We were lucky in finding a spot. Not too bad but if parking is full, there's plenty of parking in the back. When Ross first opened their flagship store in Keeamoku Street for me parking was the factor I didn't shop there until they opened their second shop at Ward (closed years ago). I always find what I'm looking for. They're conveniently located and hours of operation closes late comparison to other stores. My favorite shops are at Kahala and Pearlridge Mall. Although I find that the stationary sector great in inventory prices are very affordable too. Ross offers senior discount day on Tuesday at 10%. read more

Shopping for bargains at Kahala Mall, Honolulu... The Kahala area of Honolulu is not known for low prices. That's why it seems rather odd to have a Ross at Kahala Mall. However, Ross is my favorite store at this enclosed air conditioned mall...except for the Sanrio store where I visit Hello Kitty! I usually get good deals at Ross. There are name brands such as Nike, Michael Kors, Clarks, and Calvin Klein. I especially like to shop when bonus Hawaiian Airlines miles are given. This time, I was doing a price comparison of caps. The first NFL game will be played on 8-17-19 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. I wanted to wear an LA Rams cap and I found one! It looked better than the one I purchased at a well known sports shop and the price was lower! Yay! I also found t-shirts for my lunch buddy, Dear Daniel. He's a fan of the opponent. Haha! I also found some Golden State Warriors shirts and 49ers shirts for my friend, Roz! I'll be back for more bargains! read more

Bring back Barnes and Noble! This Ross is almost as a disaster as the Nimitz one! This Ross is located in Kahala Mall on the second level, up the ramp on Waialae after Hunakai. There's a lot of parking, but can be quite busy on the weekends. It's just like any other Ross. The differences is the staff, management, and customer service are one of the worst. I've been here several times already. The security guard either says nothing, or a really forced "welcome" to every customer that walks in. Every time I encounter a worker here, they just glance at you, or not bother you at all. No one has ever offered help. The worst and most frustrating part is the checkout. There's always only ONE cashier, and the line gets very, very long. Yet, when it's over 12 people back, no one calls to get another cashier up front. I really don't understand why this Ross NEVER opens up another register when it's busy. Is there no other qualified cashier? The manager can't do that? It's utterly ridiculous. Everyone else waiting in line near me shared the same sentiment. The staff are all trained to be robots and just regurgitate what they were taught to say without sincerity or emotion. The only positive for this Ross is they have a good selection of clothes and other items, even though everywhere is a big mess. Overall, you just need to develop your patience for a good deal on the things you need. read more

Going to a Ross Dress for Less is a crap shoot, as part of the fun about going to a Ross Dress for Less is the pure pleasure of hunting for a great deal!! I like coming to this particular Ross Dress for Less store located inside of the Kahala Mall Shopping Center, as the store is situated on the top floor of the mall where there is ample parking, and easy access to this store! Some of the random items I like to pick up from Ross is automotive & gadget items, items for my doggie, shoes, & pants. The other day while I was working in the mall, I decided to pop into this Ross store on my lunch break to see if I could find a great deal on something. Sure enough, I found myself finding a great deal on a thermos/flask. If you folks had read an earlier review of mine, I had dropped my Hydro Flask & broke my cap recently (darn it!), but lucky for me I was able to find a replacement cap for $13.60 from a kiosk store at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Pisssssssssst! Check this out gang! You're not gonna believe this deal I got at the Ross Dress for Less the other day ...........while walking around the store, I found this 34 oz. Coleman thermos/flask for just $9.99. Can we say DEALAGES Yo????? But as good as that deal was..........there's more to it gang! Check this out! When I went to the check out counter to pay for my thermos/flask, it just so happens I came to Ross Dress for Less on a Tuesday. What's so special about Tuesday's????? Well, it senior dealages day every Tuesday at Ross, and if you're 55 years old or older, you can get a 10% discount!! Yay for DEALAGES!!! So as I went to pay for my thermos/flask, and guess what??? The nice girl who rung me up ended up giving me the senior discount, so my flask was $8.99!!!! That's an unbelievable deal........especially since I'm not a senior yet (I have a few more years to go! I normally don't write reviews for retail becuase it's just me shopping so what's there to review? But I have to say, customer service from the manager on shift - I think his name was Daven? Was fabulous! He is extremely humble, unassuming, but always there for his staff and super patient. One staff, older woman, was practicallly yellling at him and he carefully maneuvered that situation when dealing with my refund - which for some reason didn't show up on the register. That kind of help for us older local folks is unseen with the younger workers nowadays, so kudos to him! This location is clean and fully stocked - found Hoka shoes at amazing prices wow great value! Daven's service was stellar - I would have bought him a drink at Starbucks to reward him. Would recommend this location to anyone of my friends and family! read more

We've been coming here for awhile but havent had the time to review this place till now. I love that they have the handicap stalls right in front of the store. PARKING: Don't worry about parking here because its everywhere & its at the mall. LOCATION: So don't get me wrong this location is the best place to come for great clearance items. My friend found nike shoes that were regular price $40-50 but it was lowered to ONLY $14.99. We also found pants for .49 cents & other heels for $4.99. The sad part is that i never realized how the clothes ailes were like 1foot apart. Im in a wheelchair & how am i suppose to go through the ailes. Mostly for tje womens & kids clothes are the areas i mostly go to but can't & it makes me so frustrated. I think this location also has elderly people come here & how would they go through with a walker you know? So please ross make all ailes accessible for everyone & anyone. I also know its the holidays but common. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Terrible..its like you ask them a question & its like they dont want to help even know its your job. I went to this Kahala Ross yesterday to purchase a storage chest I had seen previously. My husband did not come with me and I was trying to figure out how to move it, and get it out to the car. I approached an employee, Tau, who happened to be the Manager on Duty as well. The store was very busy and she immediately offered to help me. She was wearing a dress and heels. She helped me carry the item to the front of the store. I stood in line and when I was called up, she helped bring it up to the cashier. We then moved it to the side and I went out to prep my car. I came back in and she helped me carry it out to my car and put it in the back seat. Her assistance was very much appreciated and she did this all with a smile while also intermittently answering questions from other customers. I have always had good experiences at this store and will definitely continue to frequent them. I thank Tau for her graciousness and kindness in helping with me with my purchase. They should let you use the bathroom! How are we going to let nature take its course if there's no private or public bathroom available? I've had to leave the store and go home due to not having facilities. And they say it's out of order, waiting for maintenance when they need to change the toilet paper. I wish Ross general operations would read these posts. Otherwise it's cleaner and nicer than other Rosses but the selection of dresses especially is low. read more

I had a few hours to shop while I was in vacation and needed to go to another store in the mall, so I stopped here. I was immediately greeted by an employee (same with every other guest). They have large or small carts plus baskets. Should've used a small cart because most of the aisles were so packed that the large cart barely fit through. No way would two carts fit. Items were messy with some things on the floor or in the wrong section for size, etc. The employee at the fitting room was militant about slowly checking eight or less items went in at a time. The dressing rooms were spacious and had good lighting and mirrors. They had nice bathrooms too. There were snacks and toiletries near the checkout area. I bought a reusable bag for my purchases. Ross Dress for Less is a nice way of getting your clothing needs from name brands, but you don't want to spend a fortune doing so. I try to shop at Walmart as much as I can, but you know that this Ross location is closer to me than Walmart near the Ala Moana shopping center. Time and travel is a real thing. I came to know this Ross Dress for Less store a less than a few years ago when they acquired the space left by Barnes & Nobel Booksellers on the rooftop parking next to the consolidated theaters. It's basically the first thing you'd notice when you choose the parking here, next to Whole Foods and all of the shops adjacent to the theaters - just on the rooftop. This Ross Dress for Less location boasts a large floor space, which is significant, but not large enough like a Macy's or a Sears, but just enough to sell their merchandise. The store is relatively clean and the sales staff is there to help, if you need it. It was nice when I walked in on a brisk Wednesday evening. While you may say Ross Dress for Less can be a step up from a Thrift shop, I do what I can to save money on daily necessities to travel more. I ended up browsing the store for about 45 minutes before deciding to try on some pants I wanted to purchase for work. In the end, I bought a couple of pairs and I was glad that the prices here were pretty good and the quality of the products sold here was as good as the ones in department stores. Just cheaper. It helps to shop around for the best deals, even when it is not at Walmart, although they have a nice name brand recognition. Ross Dress for Less is also a recognized leader in the clothing industry. I am glad that they are in the Kahala Mall shopping complex, just so I don't need to travel so far to find good clothing. My experience here took about 1 1/2 hours in total, with 15 minutes to try on the clothing and 15 minutes to pay and leave the store with my purchase. The overall experience here at this Ross Dress for Less was quite nice, casual, typical, and good for the wallet. While it isn't name brand stuff, it is affordable for anyone and everyone who's budget conscious these days. Clothes can be extraordinarily expensive, but when you look at the right places - like Ross Dress for Less - you can find a bargain and hidden gems where you can least expect it. For me though, I ended up with 2 work pans for about $30, which is pretty good actually. Right fit and right price, which is basically what I am looking for. The store itself was simple to navigate. The selection was decent, although you can't really complain when you're getting a decent deal here. While you could say that it can be an downgrade from major department stores, I see it as an alternative. Although it's in the Kahala area, you'd be surprised at all the savings you'll be getting - check them out! Save money and live better is the name of the game when you are here at Ross Dress for Less. Not sure about the air conditioning, as I didn't feel it. Not sure about the public wifi either, but that wasn't important at the time. This Ross Dress for Less is located at the Kahala Mall shopping center, where Whole Foods and Starbucks s downstairs and the American Savings Bank is directly beneath it on the first floor. It's address is 4211 Waialae Avenue and there's plenty of parking for people to park. Just make sure you know where you park though. Best bet would be to come during non peak hours to get the best spots. If you are like me, bus routes 1, 1L, 14, 22, 23, and 24 comes though the area and stops along the mall's main roads of Kilauea, Pahoa, and Waialae Avenues. Ross Dress for Less accepts major credit cards, which is always a good thing, as well as cash. For the most part though, shopping here is pretty cool. Selection is kind of limited, but if you have a sense of style and a limited budget, consider coming here to see what they have. Who knows, your next best fashion choice might be found here! At least that's what I've found when I was here. I prefer this Ross over the one on Seaside in Waikiki- that store is so packed it feels like a store version of a hoarder! The Ross in Kahala has a lot of stuff, and they are dangerously close to running out of white space and following in Seaside's footsteps, but I can still make my way around without pumping into people at every turn. They have lots of houseware items, both decorative and utilitarian, all at great price points. I bought a stainless steel tea kettle the other day for just $12. Even the furniture section has great finds. While I had no room for it, I stare at a gold mid-century mod table lamp for quite some time before finally doing a catch and release. The clothing area is my weakness. Since I'm always in the water, I stock up on TYR bathing suits whenever I see them. For $19.99 they are a steal. Jumpsuits are all the rage and I have bought several. A sophisticated Tommy Hifinger in platinum silver with white polka dots gets lots of compliments. In the Juniors area, I stock up on wide legs summer pants in all sorts of fun boho patterns. And maxi dresses, don't even get me started! Ross is one of those stores you go to even if you don't need anything. You walk in with the intent of doing a quick 5 minute walk-through and then an hour passes and you leave with bags of bargains that you just could not pass up. This particular Ross has lots of parking (free) and is close to Whole Foods, Macy's and Long's making it easy to do all of my errands on one trip. read more

KAAI has got to be the absolute worst sales associate I have ever encountered. She is RUDE. She is ABRUPT. She treats customers like they're lesser human beings. She handled my return tonight. I had my receipt and the returns folded nicely - better than how she gave them to me last night when I bought them and she was the cashier. No greeting. No smile. Tossing around the clothes like it's rags. Then she tell me "just take your receipt" which was she threw at me. As the return receipt comes out of the machine, she rudely says "go just take it". Too lazy to remove it from the machine and give it to me herself. I mean, really. And she has this incredibly bad practice of calling the next customer "next on 1" (referring to the register number) before she completes the transaction in front of her. Last night a customer didn't even have time to put away their change and grab their items before she's calling the next person like cattle to the slaughter. And it defies logic that the management there doesn't know just how terrible KAAI is as an employee. They must see it happening. But the whole vibe of the store makes customers feel like they're a bunch of lowlifes who are PRESUMED to be thieves and not customers. And don't say "well, it's hard to find people now". I'd rather wait longer and pay more to get at least the minimum amount of respect as a customer. read more

I love Ross and it is a hit or miss for items. Sometimes they have it, sometimes they don't. Rule of thumb....you see it and are wishy washy....get it because it won't be there the next time you go! This Ross is maintained better than others and the parking is good BUT the aisles are very squishy! They are very narrow and maintaining distance is done by waiting or going in the next aisle and looking over. When they re-opened after it was allowed the aisles were really wide and you weren't "grazing " the clothes as you walk the aisle. BUT the 3 stars isn't for the aisles it's for the enforcement of mask wearing. You walk in with your mask on, everyone does BUT I couldn't help notice that as soon a people were out of sight the mask gets pulled down either below the chin or under the nose!!!! Really? There was 1 or 2 employees walking the floor and I saw one see but said nothing! I get that masks are not comfortable but it's just some thing we have to do for everyone's safety! Needless to say, I got what I needed and got the heck out of there ASAP! I'll probably return at sometime but I'll check out another Ross and see what it's like. For now, I'll stay away from the Kahala location. Love Ross but don't care for the behavior of others. My purchase was small so no loss for Ross. read more

As much as I miss Barnes and Noble, I am so ecstatic that it was replaced by a Ross. The Kahala Ross isn't my favorite one but it is within my top five. They have a lot of the stuff I'm looking for and a plethora of it, so I'm happy with that. It is frustrating though because it's messy and disorganized, so it's hard to find things. The sizes are also all mixed up. It's also a little smaller than the other Ross', so it's a bit confusing and congested. I really like the staff. They're all very friendly, fast, efficient, and always available to help you. read more

At first I was bitter about this store even being here. Barnes & Nobel, the best book store in the city, was closing and I was sad. C'est la vie, I do like Ross. I never thought I'd like this one so much. While not the largest, it does for some reason have a better and more varied selection. The staff here is also friendly, from the security guards to the cashiers. Ross is on the roof of Kahala Mall. They have parking right outside, the ramp entrance is just off of Waialae under the highway. Parking can get a little busy here on the weekend, so plan accordingly. It's a well lit and organized store, kept clean and well stocked. Prices are typical for locations. I'm happy to have found lots of toys for my furry companion here, as well as home good, toys, and other things I don't need. read more

I would give them a 0 if I could! Not the store, but the WORKERS are just horrid. My son, whose only 2, decided to unbuckle from the stroller and dig out (and hid). I was calling out for him, couldn't find him. I asked the manager for help, no help. I asked the people stocking the shelves if they can help, they said they'd let me know if they see him pass by. The guy at the front don't refused to lock the front doors because "people can't get in and out". Um THATS THE POINT DUMBAZZ! Their location is right by the highway so if he had ran out, he'd end up getting run over. I am just appalled by how heartless their workers were. Do they not have a code red? The Kahala Ross had their Grand Opening on 10/10, so I took a drive by, expecting to have a hard time finding parking. I scored great parking right away, so I took a quick trip inside. The store is very well stocked, tons of variety, and quite neat, considering the weekend's heavy traffic. While there were quite a few other shoppers at 11 am, the store was pleasantly quiet--no screaming babies (all it takes is one!). It was a peaceful Sunday morning browsing experience. There was a lot to see, but for the most part, everyone was polite & trying not to get in anyone else's way. I picked up a couple of items and got in line with about 20 people ahead of me. iPhone in hand, I braced myself for a long wait, but surprise! I waited less than 5 minutes. When I complimented the cashier on how fast the mine moved, he said "We're doing our best." Great job, Kahala Ross! I'll be back! read more
