First time to this location. There is parking. The surrounding area is a little rough. It's a weird location at the beginning of Nimitz next to a huge pet store. The interior is large and clean. I feel like on this trip the shelves were stocked and if the other stores didn't have the items this location will have what you are looking for. Holiday decorations, fun gifts, festive clothes, home goods, small furnishings galore. Prices do appear a little higher than other stores and not sure why. But it's is Ross so items are still a value. Service is just okay. There was no line. Staff a little less friendly but that's okay. Definitely a place to check out to shop. Oh and we were asked several times outside the store by random people if we could spare them some cash. read more

This Ross gave me the heebiejeebies. The vibes here are really bad, I feel like I was on edge the whole time and I had to leave within five minutes of arriving. There are a bunch of homeless people outside and a few of the customers inside made me uneasy. Didn't feel like I could shop in peace. Not to mention all these aisles are complete chaos. read more

It's the search that I do love... Yes I've been to this Nimitz Hwy location too many times many have been unchecked as I rely on this location as it's so easily accessible with lots of free parking to dashing looking for items mostly out of desperation and hope but it is what it is and leave many times disappointed...in myself as I'm the typical last moment ideas. Depending on the specific items you look for it is usually the lucky find well even if I'm there for something else I find some other items I didn't think I needed lol...yes need! This super spacious location does seem to sell items fast as some shelves are empty at times but on the flip side I do find items I rarely find in other stores and this is a great option depending on the location you're at and this one is closer to my work so it's a retail therapy session as well along with the friendly staff I do love this Ross. Welcome to Ross dress for less store on Nimitz highway located in downtown honolulu area. It's located next to Pet smart in the same building and parking lot area (it ain't hard to find)? Parking - Lots of parking aka ample parking in a private lot (just make sure you lock your doors and don't leave any valuables in the car that people can see (FYI there is an Homeless/family shelter across the Al street fR. Ross also there homeless encampments along the sidewalk near the entrance and exit of the parking lot (so just a little sketchy I'd say) but it's good to have a HEADS up when checking out ROSS ok Nimitz Highway. Rather be safe then sorry. I myself barely come to this Ross just cause of the location. This Ross location the size of the store is not the biggest compared to other Ross stores I'd say. Also when I last checked it out the shelves was not as stocked up. But for sure there always gonna be treasures at Ross so it's good to check (cheee) FYI - Christmas holiday decorations is already stocked up at this Ross dress for less and its only October (ahha) Service * the staff here at this Ross there good and helpful specially the staff that helped me at checkout line, she was very kind and nice when I was paying for my items. I'm rarely at this Ross, but I was nicely surprised at how clean and well stocked the store was. If you're looking for a suitcase, this is the place to be. They had a whole wall full of them. I've never seen so many suitcases at any of the other Ross stores. I walked in and the security lady greeted me. I looked around the store and they had all the usuals: clothes, shoes, bags, house furnishings, perfumes, etc. On the way out she thanked me for coming. She was greeting and thanking everyone that came to the store. Maybe this store is well stocked because not too many people come here. I'll probably come to this location more often. read more

I LOVE shopping at this Ross store! Yes, there are many homeless encampment outside BUT that doesn't deter me from coming here, just be aware of them and keep your distance. I've been in this particular Ross Dress for Less location just a handful of times. I think the only reason why I kinda avoid this particular location is due to the environment- (the area is kinda "sketchy" if you know what I mean). Yesterday, while I was in the area, I decided to pop in real quick to look for a particular item. Unfortunately I did not find what I was looking for, but while walking around the store & doing a quick observation, I noticed that this store was rather neat & organized. The staff here also was proactive in security, and whenever the staff saw something "sketchy", I hear the staff on the PA saying - to "rotate the security cameras" Lol! By far one of the bigger Ross Dress for Less stores in town (Ross took over the old K-Mart store location), and there is lots of free parking. I wouldn't recommend you come here at night for safety, but during the daytime it appears it ain't so bad. I mean, that one is good, but my husband and I were surprised at this Ross and it's been a secret joke/meeting area in the friend group for a while now because we just love finding reasons to come here LOL First off, yes it's surrounded by homeless, but somehow the homeless aren't inside. Don't let the homeless on the outside scare you from the treasure hunt inside. IMO: This Ross does a better job of keeping homeless people out that the one on Keeamoku. Second, the parking lot is HUGE, but never full because rarely anyone comes here. It's almost too easy to get a front row parking spot. Also, maybe because there's significantly less foot traffic than. most Ross's on island, that might be the reason why they have more to offer? I've found more of what I need here than any other Ross. I know, I know, how can a Ross be this good? Honestly, I still can't answer that. But please let this review be a post-it note in your mind to one day come and check it out and see for yourself. read more

I usually don't shop at this ross because it is near a rehab center and there are a lot of vagrants hanging around the area, but since I was in the atea with a friend, I had to return an item and I was greeted enthusiastically at the door. A 3 star only because alhough it was organized and clean, I found that it was a smaller store with not many items or selections, and that whole complex does NOT have a bathroom. Especially since cvs right next door closed. Luckily I didn't have to urgently go and drove to Lowes about half a block away for one. Service was ok, but there was no return person so I had to wait awhile until the purchasing cashier's line ended before the cashier could walk over to help me on the returns side. She was nice and helpful. Lots of parking, but I don't think I'd park there at night alone. read more

Their is lots of parking considering they share the parking lot with two additional stores, aisles and aisles of great bargains. Bathroom was clean and I was able to get help right away. Decided to go to one of my favorite clothing store. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward in buying some new clothes because of this Covid19 my clothes is getting a little tight lol. This Ross store is located on Nimitz Hwy right next door to Longs Drug. I thought it would be a little slower store compared to the other busier Ross's. But to my surprise 2 things I only can speculate. 1 - That they didn't receive their container 2- That once Ross opened up everything got sold. I came here with hubby and got a few things. Hubby got two out of our three puppies some cute clothes. I picked up a couple of items I needed. I find so many cool items in this store. Prices are reasonable and affordable. I love the clothing section and the beauty section of the store. Lots to choose from. Aisles were clean but line was kind of long. They opened up another register which made the line go a little faster. Not too bad. Plenty of parking up front and around the store. As the case with all Ross locations, it's hit or miss based on the inventory and what you are seeking. Since I don't live on the island, I'm typically searching for bathing suits, casual clothing and maxi dresses. Over the years I've made many purchases and some at deals that are stellar, even for Ross! They seem to have a lot more clearance items and I've walked away with a maxi dress for under $5, which is basically free! Dressing rooms are clean. Service is fine. read more

This is the newest and possibly the most spacious and cleanest Ross on Oahu... Located on Nimitz Highway, Ross occupies the space where K-Mart used to be. The aisles are wide and the shelves aren't cluttered! The parking is free and wasn't crowded in the late afternoon on a week day. I read other reviews about the restroom situation. Fortunately, I didn't need the facilities. However, they still didn't have any shopping bags. Luckily, I had one in my purse (good training from mainland experiences). Service was friendly and adequate. There was a line of seven customers and only one cashier. The manager paged for someone to come to their register. She eventually got there and the purchases flowed smoothly. Wishing the best for this new business that just opened last month. I look forward to shopping here again because of the convenience and low prices! read more

Ever since I became a senior citizen, I love coming to this Ross on Tuesday's. An added 10 percent off of every purchase, I love it! The only reason for knocking off a star is that this Ross' doesn't have a restroom. So be prepared, if you need to use a restroom, do so before shopping here. The staff is pretty friendly here, always saying "hello" to you. Not to many shoppers like to come to this location for many reasons, however, they have security, so don't worry. Great parking, great selection of kitchen items. Lots of staff to assist. Not liking the people who use merchandise to "hang out"'and wait for people shopping. Products are not for unpaid practical use, people!!! I do wonder how long the store will remain here, due to IHS being located right across the street. I've heard there have been multiple problems with the homeless within the first few days. It's sad. It's great that another department store has replaced Kmart in the area. LIVID! This store doesn't allow customers to use the bathroom (probably due to the folks who abuse the privilege of free public restroom use), so customers have to go elsewhere to relieve themselves..... like, ON MY CAR TIRE!!!! Like a dog!!!! A kid w an older lady allows her child to piss on my tires while leaning on my car and doesn't even blink an eye. How gross! Then they walked back into Ross like nothing even happened. This makes me so upset. Ross should at least allow children to use the restroom!!! Or maybe the security for that center should do their job. My flip-flops (or walking sandals) broke and I was in the Nimitz area so I decided to check this Ross out as it's very new. I was somewhat alarmed at the low rating on Yelp but I had an emergency so I easily found parking in this huge lot and walked over to the men's shoe section. Located in the former K-Mart space in Iwilei which is just next door to Longs, this Ross is HUGE. So spacious and well-lit I was impressed of the transformation of the previous tenant of K-Mart. I was very pleased with the large selection in the Men's shoe section and ended up buying more than my pair of flip flops that I so desperately needed. To my slight dissatisfaction I didn't see any chairs or stools nearby for you to sit down while trying on shoes. When it was time to pay there was a line but it moved faster than anticipated. At the register the clerk first apologized as they were currently all out of bags and that I would have to walk out carrying my own merchandise, which was not an issue as I only had 3 items. I paid via credit card and I walked out a happy consumer. During my approximate 30 minutes at this Ross the staff were cordial to me. I was greeted on several occasions and was asked if everything was okay when I was pondering in the shoe section. Many hours later the curiosity got the best of me and wondered why such low-ratings. There are numerous reviews of the NO PUBLIC RESTROOM situation and for me it makes sense why they don't provide one for consumers. With the homeless issue and IHS just across the street, having a public restroom is just welcoming problems for Ross to come across. It wouldn't be right to discriminate those "questionable" consumers who may use the restroom for illegal activity. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why some businesses enforce this no public restroom policy. To be frank, if this Ross did have a public restroom I wouldn't use it with such seedy people lurking in the neighborhood. I could see myself driving to nearby Zippy's to buy something and ask the staff to use their restroom if I had an emergency. If I could give this ROSS no stars I WOULD! Came here today to check out the new store, and in hopes of looking for a birthday present for someone and clothes for my kids. Half way through shopping my son needed to use the bathroom, so I decide to take him to where the fitting rooms are and i politely ask the women who works there if they have a bathroom. She says NO. So I tell my son it's okay, try to hold it. Well a few minutes later he can't hold it, my mom takes him next door to longs. No bathroom either, she comes back and asks another worker if my son can use the bathroom and the woman says yes! So as they walk to the back she tells my mom She needs to talk to someone and leaves them. As this is happening I walk to my mom and a Lady from Loss Prevention walks up to us, (mind you there are lots of people around us). The lady then decides to YELL at us and say "LET ME MAKE MYSELF CLEAR WE DONT HAVE A PUBLIC BATHROOM HERE, WE HAD TO CALL THE COPS 3 TIMES LAST WEEK BECAUSE THERE WERE PEOPLE IN THE BATHROOM DOING DRUGS! OUR STORE IS ONLY 7 DAYS OLD, AND SO THERE ARE OTHER STORES THAT DO NOT HAVE PUBLIC RESTROOMS EITHER. Everyone was looking at us, so we just decided to take our stuff and get to the register and pay... I mean seriously how much trouble can a 7 year old cause? Of course new store = Long line. Nah no worries because the employees rather talk story to each other real loud while ringing customers up. Anyway end of rant, I will not come back to this location. Service needs to improve. I bought a bunch of hair clips that forgot to pack in my bag. I didn't notice it until a day later when I unpacked my shopping bag and notice it wasn't in there. I called the store and told them the issue. They said bring the receipt and I said I threw it away. The store staff I spoke to said they need the receipt in order to credit. Even if you are not a regular Ross Shopper new stores are fun to satisfy curiousity and you may just happen to see something for yourself or someone you know. The right side of the store is full of items snd well stocked while the middle to right of the business had space for more money saving items. Hopefully more active wear, picture frames, luggage and house goods will be filling the shelves. My husband and I found $57 worth of items after the Tuesday Club discount was applied. Even found the cutest footstool which will match wonderfully with my couch and rug at home. I think I might hesitate to shop there by myself at night but in mid day it was well lit, welcoming and very clean. It is close to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz. If you are expecting something new, or a different experience because it's a new Ross, you will be incredibly disappointed. This Ross is located where K-Mart use to be in Iwilei, and shares the lot with Longs and Petsmart. There is a parking lot, but it can fill up depending when you go. There's absolutely nothing different about this Ross than any other Ross. Everything looks the same, the items are the same, the smell is the same, and the mess is the same. Actually, there is one difference, there's NO clearance section anywhere. Not yet anyway. The staff members here are very friendly and attentive. Every single employee that I passed by welcomed me and asked if I needed help. I never get that at other Ross's, but will this be a norm for this Ross? We'll see. Overall, there's no point to go out of your way to come to this Ross. Everything is the same. The plus side is the parking and it's next to Longs. The downside is the abundance of homeless individuals surrounding this area, so it can feel sketchy and a little unsafe, but that was always the feeling in this area.
