As a former associate for Ross (not this one in particular) but one that was very busy because of the area it was in, which meant sometimes it'd be packed and other times it'd be bare. Even though there was a lot of traffic at the Ross I worked at, and I worked at night, for the most part, in the day time, the Ross I worked at was well put together and wasn't as messy as this one. Granted, there wasn't much on the racks for clothes and such, it was still a huge mess. Especially, the clearance sections and the home good isles. I noticed it didn't seem like they had a lot of workers out in the day time neither hence why it was probably messy as well but either way. More workers started showing up once the line got super long, they had everyone "man," the registers. Again, I've been told that business' in this area isn't always the best due to the area being impoverished. I guess, that could be the case and I find that a little infuriating because I feel that it's very stereotypical. The lines are long and the service isn't always the greatest but it's retail and for me, that's expected (a wait, sometimes bad service). I have experienced better but maybe I was here on a bad day. This Ross is not that bad. They have cute stuff most of the times. But the merchandise are way to crowded together. They need to organize more often. I understand most customers don't care and just throw stuff around which irritates me a lot! But staff should be able to clean sometimes.... This store do get a lot of customers and like any other discount stores, it's always a hit or miss. I noticed, some cashiers do have bad attitudes, bad customer service. It's like, they really hate their jobs, but have no choice because it pays the bills. Sometimes you just have to smile even though you hate your job, it'll make you feel better. And customers will be friendlier too and happy. And the store will have better ratings and maybe have more customers in the future. Rude employees, I understand lines are long on weekends, and there is a separate line for returns, but at least have a cashier specific for returns, so we don't have to wait on everyone to finish their purchases before we get helped, when we were there first. I waited about 20 minutes for the whole purchase line to go through then when I finally thought it was my turn, the cashier just yells "next" not "next return" or "next purchase". So the next purchase just charges to the cashier when she just got there. I was so annoyed and ended up just wasting my time and leaving because I never got called. Worst place ever. They have some stupid 29 day return policy. I've never heard of this and I have been shopping at Ross in Houston for years. I went to return 2 shirts totaling $22 and was informed I was over the 29 day period by 4 days and could not get my money back. I was issued some in store paper card to spend. I did have my receipt. When I spend my money I expect to get good service. I did not want to shop again. I wanted my money back that I used to pay for my items. It's just a BS way to keep you money in their pocket. OMG, everything in this Ross is so smashed together. It is too much. It really makes me not want to shop. There is not enough space to look with out bumping into everyone and thing urrgh. They do have a lot of stuff though I can give them that. On a brightert note there lines are so long and looking at the line before shopping makes you not want to shop, but they move that line very fast, so that is always good. If you haven't been to a Ross you will either love or hate it. I hated Ross for over 15 years but had a change of heart when I was coaxed into going before Thanksgiving. So the first thing you need to know is that Ross had great deals on clothing, housewares and more. They have a little bit of everything except major appliances and electronics. Second thing to know is about Ross is that it is almost always packed. It is doggy dog in there. Every man for himself kinda deal. Third thing to know is that you have these ridiculous shopping carts with some sort of antenna on it. I haven't figured out what it is for. Fourth thing is that there are racks and racks of clothes to sort through. I've not been that adventurous but I have seen how serious people get. Ross is a gem when it comes to finding holiday items. I'm a horrible shopper and do it at the last minute. Ross has had all decorative items to please my fancy for the holidays at a reasonable price. My rating is in comparison to other bargain stores, not stores like Nordstrom. I found this store and it's staff to be extremely welcoming. I normally go to the Ross in Harker Heights .. always clean , friendly service etc. But the Ross in Killeen put a bad taste in my mouth .. My boyfriend and I walked in and I went straight to the purses I seen a DKNY pack I wanted but notice they were locked . My boyfriend asked the lady up for ( guard) if we can get someone to get the pack. She said there"s a button tight there. We were like( that's rude ) but the lady right next to her at the register was the one to get the pack.. wow... then the lady said well are you done shopping ? We just walked in. This Ross store is no different than all the other Ross stores I've been to in the past. You can find some awesome deals if you have the patience to look through all the clutter. There are a lot of people shopping when I come here whether it's on the weekday or weekend. Expect to wait in line for a few minutes if not more. Ross is the messy, unorganized twin of any major retail store! If you have OCD it might freak you out a bit... ok I lie, it will traumatize you! I like Ross for its dress selection but the size discrepancy is ridiculous and the lines are horrible. Also trying to get through isles with people who don't think that they are standing in the middle of the row or their kids are swinging on the racks is fairly irritating. The fitting rooms are fairly dirty, I wish that they would sweep and mop back there more. Prices are really good but I tend to buy a lot while I am there so I do not have to go back. They do not let you keep the hangers either. I am not sure what else to say about it. read more

This Ross is EXTREMELY busy nearly all the time. They have like 3 times as much merchandise as the Ross in Temple or Waco and 10 times the number of customers. With that much merchandise and as many messy shoppers as there are in the store I'm actually surprised it looks as good as it does (who do you think makes the mess? it's not the employees). The lines at the registers are long but they keep them moving pretty well. If you want to save the money you have to be willing to put up with some mess and some waiting time. read more
