Ross in La Verne is decent, but it really depends on when you go. There have been times when I've found some great deals on name-brand clothes, home goods, or even random gems, and that's what keeps me coming back. But other times, the store feels disorganized, and the shelves look like they've been through a Black Friday sale--items scattered, things in the wrong sections, and inventory that looks like it hasn't been restocked in a while. The customer service is average--some employees are friendly, while others seem like they're just getting through their shift. Great place for great prices on all sorts of things you need-dresses, socks, household items, workout clothes, PJs, spices, work clothes, floor mat, gift items, painting supplies-you name it, they may actually have it. It can be hit or miss but the next time you need something, come here first! My current purchase was winter boot socks. 6 pairs for $6! I keep asking if this Ross is closing down because their shelves are practically empty. The clothes are still the same and still jammed in and i have a serious hanger war when trying to remove it from the ringers. I think if they got rid of some of the clothes that have been hanging there since the store opened it might make life easier for customers. The merchandise is starting to look a lot like DD's. Clothing from the 80s and 90s. However, customer service is excellent and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I'm not sure if it was because of the season or what not but the store was somewhat empty. They didn't have much choices. Shoe racks only 50% filled. Racks kinda empty. I saw Christmas stuff still on shelves and they were still marked pretty high even with their clearance stickers. Target, Walgreens, and mother alike stores have their Christmas stuff marked off at 90% right now since it's the third week of January. Must of been the time I went but no one was in line. This Ross should be turned into a Nordstrom rack, tjmaxx or home goods. Every time I go there I get the same girl at the register, she is rude unfriendly and has RBF. She was rude to the customer ahead of me, because the lady asked her for a bag. The lady said can I have a bag, it's raining and the girl rolled her eyes. She needs to be fired. I didn't get her name all I know is she was relearning a blue flannel today. This store always looks empty and most of the clothes are polyester. They always call the next person up to the register when you are still there. You don't even have time to put your money or card away and they don't even tell you to grab your receipt. I have spoken with different managers at the La Verne location for over 4 years to get in more stock. They said their hands are tied and corporate decides on what they get. I even wrote Cheyenne Mc Cullough, Customer Service (800) 335-1115 on 9/20/18. She responded by e-mail and just mentioned she'd forward my concerns to corporate. Of course, corporate never responded back to me. This is the "worst" Ross in about 40 miles in L.A./Orange County California for NOT having stock and I've been to over 20 stores. Ross opened new stores in Upland and moved the Montclair store down 2 stores in 2019, and those 2 stores are always fully stocked. The La Verne store is so empty, it looks like it's ready to close. When Ross has holiday items, they sell right away. Why corporate REFUSES to stock this store like all the other stores, is beyond me. Don't they want to make a profit and serve their customers? Corporate doesn't care about the La Verne store. I just go there to return things rather to buy, and they lose hundreds of dollars every year just from me. My favorite store is where I use to live is in Pasadena on Foothill Boulevard off the 210 Freeway. Even when they're low on inventory, which I think they get the best stuff, they always are full stocked. And I complimented the manager on their high inventory and great selection. So I'd like to know from Corporate at Ross, why they neglect ONLY this store so badly in not providing enough stock? I keep getting they're a low volume store. Of course they are, because they have LOW VOLUME in their store. Their shelves are below 30% all the time. Stock up La Verne Corporate HQ! A customer can't buy something when you DON'T have it and the other Ross stores do!!!!! I have shopped at Ross for years. I would venture to say the majority of my clothing and housing accessories are from there. I still shop at Ross and stop anytime I see one in a new area. It is very disheartening to live in La Verne and our store is really quite pitiful. The clothing racks have shrunk to almost nothing and if you are shopping for plus size don't even go. Even the seasonal sections are almost non-existent. I recently went to the store in Covina and in Upland and came away with a trunk full of items. I then went to Laverne and walked out with nothing. I was shopping for a skirt for my daughters recital. I entered the store and ran into a petite woman with brunette hair speaking with security. As I entered she did NOT greet nor acknowledge me. I walked to the jewelry counter and as I viewed items she just looked at me but made a point to acknowledge the two patrons that entered AFTER me. She then circled over to the counter never asking me if I needed assistance but just to "look" at me. I looked at her and smiled. She walked away back to security and again acknowledged others coming in. I am so disgusted with her treatment and if she is management she needs to be demoted if not fired. I have visited this Ross store many times, but this has been the worst of my experiences. I kindly asked for assistance in finding a rain slicker/coat while two employees were chatting about life at home. The one named Brittany vaguely recognized my question as I seemed to be a burden, then she sent me to a broad sign of women's and I was therefore on my own to help myself to my desired purchase. After finding nothing and feeling abandoned by the employee I was leaving the store. However I saw this Brittany cashing drawers and directing other employees... WOW! This is a terrible customer service representative let alone some sort of leader!. P.S. if I could give zero stars I would!!! This is poor, poor service. For the most part people here are really nice they greet you when you come in and such but I can't say the same for Julia . Not only has this associate double scanned my items before (around the holidays) when I went to return an item she had me take my items with me to the car just to grab my credit card to credit me back. I am a resident of Laverne California. There is a Ross for less with in 2 minutes from my home. The Ross in Laverne California is the most pathetic Ross I've ever been to. The inventory is always low. When the store first open it was great but now I never find anything that I like or want in the store. I went there today and the inventory was so low I thought the store was closing for good. It's a shame that I have to go to a Ross in other areas furthest from my home to find what I need. I love Ross, especially since there prices are great for kids that are always growing.....but please update your hours online it says online google you are open till 11 o'clock so I wasted my gas and came here and you're not open. Both Azusa and San dimas are open though, I just looked online and I called....hmmm sounds like the people in charge at this Ross need to get there hours straight, come on guys you're better than that. A big retail space, plenty of staff. A recipe for a booming business. This Ross, however, is hands-down the most poorly stocked, poorly staffed big business in La Verne, possibly anywhere. There's nothing there. Three things per shelf do not a full shelf make! Empty, open floor space, empty shelves, damaged merchandise, rude, unhelpful employees. At least the place is clean. I honestly cannot agree with the other reviews of this store. Yes it is a typical Ross where you have to hunt through everything to find what you want, but with that said, it certainly is a very nice Ross. Everything is organized neatly; no shoes all over the floor or tangled hangers in the racks like at other Ross stores. This store has a bigger selection to look through. I really don't even want to give this store one star, but I have to in order to write the review. They don't have a big selection of clothing. The store is not very well organized, and most of the clothes were larger sizes. I just wanted a simple sweatshirt, and I couldn't find one. The belts were cheaply made, and even the "new" arrivals were not so new. It's a confusing hodge podge of mismatched clothing. It was too time consuming to look through everything. And the store employees definitely did not want to help anyone. They all seemed to run and hide in the fitting room area if I tried to ask them anything. read more

I frequent many Ross stores. A lot of the items are the same but one will have better selection then another. This one is kind of in the middle. Now the customer service is another story. The clerks are very abrupt, at least when they aren't talking to each other, not courteous at all. I'm not sure what goes on at the management level, but they all seem bitter. I have experienced bad customer service in the past but I have to say this one takes the cake. I walked in last night to return 2 items in this store. There were 2 lines one was for customer service/returns and the 2nd one was for customers to pay. I went to the appropriate line where no one was standing the female cashier looks up at me and says "I am going to help them because they have been waiting a long time" I look and say is this the correct line for returns she says "yea",. There is another cashier already ringing up people and there were probably 3 people in line. In my head I am thinking its fine I am not in a rush but I didn't like her tone and there was no need for the rolling of the eyes. So this is the kicker she finishes with the last person in line to pay and looks at me and tells me "youre going to have to wait, she will help you" she pointed to the other cashier. This blew me away, here she put me on hold to assist the other cashier brought the customers to the customer service register to pay knowing that I have a return she's going to have me wait and walk away. So why is it that she felt it was okay for me to wait? My sister was with me who was angry at the lack of customer service and by the time we got up to the cashier associate#159503 did her best to ignore us as well offered NO apology. The only thing that came out of her mouth was that the girl that walked away from me was her boss. I have been in other Ross stores and they have for the most part have always been customer service oriented. I am not sure if the fact that I am Hispanic annoyed the girl but I will definitely never ever shop at this store again. If there was a negative "0" I could give them I would. Both girls were aware that I felt they lacked customer service and neither one offered an apology. I seriously hope that this yelp review is shared with the two girls and that they are forced to have to go through customer service classes and that they actually realize as a consumer I can spend my money at any store and my money is what helps pay for their paycheck and if they continue to provide this kind of poor service to individuals they will see less revenue which could force less employees to be scheduled.
