I would give zero stars if this was an option. When you walk in the store, you are "greeted" by a man in some kind of tactile vest that has LOSS PREVENTION on the back in big yellow letters. There's also a sign that says WE CHECK RECEIPTS. I go about my shopping and the stock is sparse to me, compared to other discount stores. The toy shelves are messy, as always. Not much in home goods. What they do have are annoying buzzing alarms going off at the front and the back of the store. I went to pay for my two items. The register is practically next to the other guy in a tactile vest, but he has to check my receipt. When I approached him, he spoke in I guess French because s'il vous plait is one of the few phrases I know in French and he ended with that. EIther they don't trust their employees or they don't trust their shoppers, but either way, not a pleasant experience or one I will repeat. TJ Maxx and Marshalls both have better stock and don't make their customers feel like criminals. read more

Hidden Ross, this location is off of Westview in the Target Plaza, on the edge of Coral Springs/Parkland. The customer service is really good, and friendly. They greet you from entrance to exit with a smile. Need help finding something, this is not Walmart they will help and let you know if they have it or not, they got you. This place is very well lit, a variety of things to buy to say the least and pretty well organized, I mean have you been to Ross? Okay so you get it. Lol They always have something that you'll end up not coming in for but the deals are so darn good you cannot possibly leave without it, trust me. Lines move fairly quickly, and no hassle if you have an issue, at least I haven't had one and I've been coming here for years. I go to the front and asked loss prevention tall skinny black guy he goes and points to the cashier barely says a word. I make my way to the cashier which she immediately goes I DONT KNOW. I said how does anyone not know? she gave me attitude on it and said she is not merch team. I said how does anyone in here not know, do they not work there? Unpleasant Customer Service Experience at Ross Store in Margate, FL during my visit to this store in the evening on 02/01/2024. I recently had a disheartening encounter at the Ross store in Margate, FL, where the customer service left much to be desired. The cashier's demeanor was shockingly rude, displaying a lack of professionalism that tarnished the overall shopping experience. Not only did they skip the order of the line, causing confusion and frustration among customers, but their unprofessional disposition further aggravated the situation. This unfortunate experience has certainly left a lasting impression, and it's disheartening to see such a lapse in customer service at a reputable establishment like Ross. Suggestion to store location manager and or other levels of leadership. Came to this Ross, on New Year's Day, with my granddaughter.. the store didn't have a great selection of items that I was looking for, so I was kind of disappointed but the items that I did find and purchased were marked down, so that was a plus... it was sad to see that someone was shoplifting inside of the store, and the prevention guy was kind of afraid to step in, so as I am at the register, I'm assuming it was a manager who was ringing up my items, was talking to the prevention guy and kind of putting him down in front of me and then as I'm walking out of the store, another prevention guy is checking bags and receipts, and as he gets my receipt, he proceeds to tell me in front of my four year-old grandchild, how beautiful we were and how he would take care of me, and as I walked out of the store I can hear him say goddamn so I'm assuming he was looking at my behind as I was walking through the door...many would probably take it as a compliment, but I took that as the upmost disrespect because how are you doing all of that in front of a minor and how professional are you? I will probably not return to this location and just stick to the one that I'm normally used to going to.. this had to be the most ghetto Ross I've been in in a long time lol read more

As a customer I should not be asked/ told to remove my clothes from the hangers , I'm spending my money and I'm not getting a discount so why should I be asked to do their job. The checkout process is slow because the cashier is not at the register but talking to the security guard. The selection is not good either. read more

The store is on Atlantic Avenue in Margate. It's always busy. It's always messy and it always has issues with checking out. There never seems to be enough help. I think the staff is overworked and that's why they're not that friendly. read more

I brought my mom here because she requested that I do so. This store is so filthy and the clothing looks worse than goodwill. The shoes look like they have been worn and I went into the ladies room which had a worse odor than the Zoo in August. Haven't been in a Ross in awhile so this may be a bit unfair... but as Ross stores go this one wasn't the best. It was just okay. There wasn't that much stock. And most things seemed a bit tired. Nothing very exciting or really new. And the clearance was a bit pathetic. They must have been having some recent theft problems, too, as I don't remember this many security people throughout the store. There seemed to be more officers than shoppers. They always had the door staff greeting you on entry, but.., Not that I mind these people, but I wondered whether it was still safe to shop here. As it turned out, I didn't find any near what I was looking for... I wouldn't go here out of my way, but since I was nearby it made sense to stop in. Now I know. read more

My daughter was looking to purchasing some holiday dresses and everyone at school told me to come here because they had really low prices. Normally I can't stand picking through the racks here but in the interest of saving moving I was willing to give it a go. I ended bringing quite a few dresses for my daughter to try on and I had to agree to put them back out to keep the sales associate at the dressing room off my back. She kept asking me how many dresses my daughter planned on trying on. I felt like saying every freaking one you have if she feels like it but instead I just offered to put back the ones we weren't taking and she seemed to be satisfied with that. Apparently they get shop lifted a lot so I had to show every dress I took in and took out to the camera. If it had been just me I would have said forget this but it was supposed to be a nice Christmas shopping experience for my daughter so I just kept my mouth shut. In the end my daughter ended up choosing 6 or 7 dresses. On the positive side some were only $10. We also ended up with two classic Calvin Klein dresses that were so sophisticated on her I hardly recognized her. When she put the the black Calvin Klein on she grew up in an instant. I checked the price tag and it was $140. I was about to tell her I couldn't afford it but when I found a second tag farther down showing the price was $40. That is when I began to feel a little better about shopping here. Before we left we went to the shoe department which was a complete disaster. There wasn't even a place to sit and try on shoes. In the end my daughter ended up with a wardrobe of dresses for the retail price of the one Calvin Klein dress. Would I shop here again? Yes because you save money but don't expect anything in the way of customer service. The way they act you are burdening them by shopping here. read more

I will try to be as nice as possible here, but this store is not clean. I like shopping at most other Ross stores, but this one....never again. The one positive about this location is that they open at nine, which is great for morning people like myself. I arrived at the store at exactly nine o'clock and the manager was just unlocking the door. She sarcastically says "don't worry, its a holiday & I am here". The lady standing next to me just looks at me and we both realize that this person obviously didn't want to come to work today. We just shrugged our shoulders and walked into the store. The store is a mess. Clothes hanging inside out on the hangers, shirts mixed in with pants and a lot of clothes just thrown in anywhere, regardless of the size. I had time to kill since Marshalls didn't open until ten. It shouldn't be that hard since Ross is a large store and I was eager to check out their "home" department. I decided to try on two shirts. I approached the fitting room area and it was obvious I was holding two shirts. The attendant asked me to hang them on the bar so she can count them. I'm thinking, this is her job so I wont say anything. After I hang my shirts on the bar she says out loud "one, two" as she counted my items. Really??? All this counting out loud silliness for two items??? I was given a number (2) and was told I could now enter the fitting room. This is where things got ugly. The fitting room area stunk like urine. I am not exaggerating or being dramatic, I am serious. I started gagging and exited as fast as possible. I went to hand the attendant my shirts and she instructed me to place them back on the bar. Even though she was standing right next to it. Whatever, I left my shirts on the bar and handed her back my plastic number. She didn't ask why I didn't try them on but I made sure she knew how bad the fitting rooms smelled. For some reason she didn't seem surprised and she didn't seem to care either. Even though I originally wanted to check out the "home section", I decided against it. I felt gross from just being in such a dirty & smelly store. I opted to sit in my car and wait for Marshalls to open. I found Marshalls to be a hell of a lot cleaner and the salespeople were much friendlier too. I will stop here because I will do a separate review for Marshalls when I have time. I still wanted to go to Ross so I headed over to the location on Glades Road in Boca. What a difference from the Margate store. You just cant compare the two locations. It was worth the drive and I didn't have to stop myself from gagging when I tried on my clothes. I like Ross because there's a lot to see and they do carry some good brands of shoes and snickers, also their home decor area has a lot of cute accessories. I always like to come in if I'm in the area to see what they have. However, this place is messy, lines are long and they always seem understaffed. Would this stop me from coming back? no, but is it the best store I've ever been to? Not in a million years. But if I'm looking for a pair of running shoes for my boys, or hubby, or cheap trendy shirts, then this is where I check first. read more

Yes, the place is a jumble of things. Shoe dept. has wrong sizes in wrong places. I think customers do that, hoping that if the shoes are overlooked and don't sell, the price will come down. I looked for shoes in every size and found 5 pairs. 4 sandals and 1 shoes all one the wrong shelves. I got some dynamite deals and it was worth the hunt. Some shoes do look like they've been worn a lot...like maybe staff wears them and puts them back? I dunno. I really think they deserve 3 1/2 stars. I like to shop here. read more

The store is extremely dirty and disorganized. But on top of that, the staff is extremely rude. There was a young man working there who had the nerve to tell Me to take my basket off the counter as I unloaded my item. I have never encountered such ghastly rude behavior in my life. The manager who I complained to told him to behave and he continued to mouth off. Eventually the manager had to take over. She said they often have rude customers so normally he isn't that bad. I truly doubt it based on his behavior. I will be calling and complaining to another manager who may be higher up. read more

This is the typical Ross when you go expect long lines and hit or miss clothing. Usually this is the case but to my thrill of enjoyment I was able to find exactly what I went there for. The store was surprisingly well stocked . Also I waited in line for 3 minutes (rare) Nothing special about this place but it does yield hidden jewels if you look hard enough .This wasn't a bad exp but my expectations are at minimal because of the place we are talking about . On, 19 March 2013, on or around 1200hrs I visit the store #0782 Ross Dress for Less located in Margate, Florida. My shopping experience was less than desired. In fact I was faced with a rude, aggressive and perhaps racist employee call "Ann". I was evaluating a blouse and after deciding to no elect this item, this employee frenziedly yells at me a mandate that I place the item on the hanger and rack, I was in the process to do that action, she makes me very scared. Others customers seen this kind of behavior, work out of the store after being shocked from this kind of behavior from one of the Ross employees. Additionally, after this incident, I continue with my shopping and decided to not let somebody with a bad day ruin mine. In the dressing room I encountered the same employee. This time, when I finish trying eight items, she (Ms. Ann) was busy taking care other costumers and in the store phone. I proceed to place all eight items in my basket and return the tag number "8" to her. Once more time she was aggressive toward me with her tone of voice and attitude. At the Cashier, I told the register employee that I have a very bad and humiliated experience and ask to speak with the supervisor of Ms. Ann. The Cashier did not know this employee's supervisor and direct me to the board with the regional manager Ms."Regional Manager" (954-xxx-xx11) and the Store manager Mr."Store Manager"(954-xxx-xx2697). I left the store crying because the abuse I received. At my house I had a nervous break-down, I lock myself in my room until I was able to communicate the incident to my husband. (Husband ) I called to the store to talk to the store manager Mr. "Store Manager", to ask how he can have an employee that can intimidate, use aggressive behavior and attitude toward customers. Mr. "Store Manager"was aware of a customer that was not placing their clothes back to the respective hangers and attention was given to that customer that is the policy of the store that have the customer to hang clothing items "correctly". (Remember with talking about the customer). I request to see him within an hour to return the items bought in that store and address the lack of customer service. He states that he has a meeting within an hour and perhaps his assistant can help me. I mention to him that I will contact the regional manager Ms. "Regional Manager", and address this accident. I called Mrs "Regional Manager" and quickly on her voice mail, address the incident and left my phone number, asking to please contact me. At the Store, I meet with Mr."Store Manager"briefly, I introduce myself, extend my hand as proper courtesy and I encounter apprehensive and indifferent. He states that the employee already left for the day, but he can no understand because that employee only receives accolade from her services. He quickly and indifferent adds that was not reason why my wife left the store upset (crying). I mention that he can validate either one of the statement by looking the security cameras and we can look at them together. He said is not permissible for customer to view the security footage. I do understand that policy, and do not speak and the security camera any longer. Although following that the store manager disappeared from my sight, perhaps went to validate using the method I just point out to him. At any given moment, I or my wife received and apology, sympathy, or close the conversation with the store manager. He just "play-down" the incident. I want to address a lack of customer service, sensibilities training, the store Ross Dress for Less #0782 have to employees and managers. p.s. (( I reserved the proper names of the managers for respect to the position)) and perhaps legal action in the future. read more

I usually find cute clothes but you really have to dig through the racks sometimes. Not too much further down in Marshalls which doesn't have the best selection yet it's much nicer and cleaner. Ross in general is not kept as nice as the other stores but I feel like I find something 9 times out of 10 when I shop here. There are times when the line can be long but I have experienced worse. read more

So, you see I gave it 2 stars! Please be advised that is being nice. I love the deals and the specialty soaps, but hate the hassle of going to this location. No matter what type of day it is, I am always subject to a line that is out of this world. The staff is horrible, well maybe with the exception of 2 associates.
