I went here with high hopes, I had a lot of stuff to sell, and a lot of it was really good quality from Zara, vintage puma, Jordon's, gym shark. I was just looking to sell at a cheap price and not that concerned about how much money they wanted to offer. I gave them a suitcase to go through and they texted me 20 minutes later saying they wanted one Zara top, one gym, shark top, and my Jordans for $30 and didn't want anything else. It just seemed as if they didn't actually look through the clothes. I sold them the Zara top and the gym shark top for 7$ and took my Jordans back. I told them, there's more gym shark and more Zara if that's what you guys are looking for & want to look through the suitcase again. the woman ringing me up (very nice and sweet) said I'm not the person who went through this, but if there's anything I want to donate, I can put it in this box. I went ahead and put several clothing items in their donation bin. I don't know it kinda seems like they weren't really interested in buying. It was a little confusing to see things that were higher quality and better just left alone and not wanted to be purchased. There appraisal selling clothing makes no sense. They say they price 70% below retail, which would be fine, if they followed that. I brought in a Versace shirt, retailed for &129,99, mind you it still had the tags on it, they offered me $10.00. The average they give per item is $5-$10. I have been coming here regularly for about 6 months, was recommended by a friend. I've have added quite a few amazing pieces to my wardrobe. The prices are reasonable, some things slightly overpriced for used... but you can also find some gems for cheap, especially when there's a sale. Staff is friendly, dressing rooms are nice, selection is good. The only suggestion I have is to PLEASE get a new soundtrack or update whatever you're using for a music feed. Every time I go in, the song "Anxiety" is playing so loud and I always hear it more than once per visit. I don't know how the employees haven't gone insane already. I mentioned to my friend how the music in there makes me feel anxious and she immediately said, "Omg the anxiety song!" Everybody is sick of that song. Please get some new music! read more

Best thrift store in South Florida for designer items! You can also find nice, gently used clothing and footwear for as little as five dollars or even less when they have sales. This service is impeccable and you can sign up for updates, which is nice because you find out before the general public does when they are having a special. They also buy clothing and give you a decent rate for what you bring in. I almost didn't want to write a review because this place is a gem and I don't want people to find out about it! If you're into second hand shopping to grab a bargain on a gently used brand item check this place out. There is a wide selection of brand names such as Anthro, Frame, Mother, Ted Baker, J Crew, Lululemon, and even some higher end brands like Gucci, LV, and Ferragamo. The store needs better organization and some cleaning but well worth a visit if second hand shopping is your thing. Prices are decent especially if you find items that are discounted off the marked prices. The staff are friendly although could be better trained to assist. read more

Took only 45 minutes, which was super fast. It took me two hours to go through my own clothes to take there lol. This place is okay. I'd been here when they originally opened and had high hopes of selling some of my brand name clothes. At that time, they only took one of my designer dresses. After many years, we returned as my husband had some expensive leather shoes he was hoping to sell -- instead of just donating them to Goodwill or the like. They didn't bother to even look at his shoes as they said they had more than enough shoes in stock. The same with my shoes -- some brand new and designer, as well. As for my clothes -- all labeled and in good condition -- they claimed they weren't in good condition and were not interested in them. They did purchase for $7 one Ralph Lauren dress that was new and still had the tags on them. The prices that they charge to buy stuff in the store is, of course, way more than you are paid for the things you are selling. We understand that, but I felt most things were overpriced. In any case, we won't be returning. But now we know that our first impressions were again validated. read more

I had a great first experience with Uptown Cheapskate. I first called to see if they accepted small kids clothes (they don't) but the lady on the phone was very kind. I brought my several bags of clothes and accessories to their shop at opening on a Sunday. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helped me understand their process. This was especially appreciated because I had not sold clothes since college (several years ago...) and the process was slightly different. I dropped my bags off and headed out to do errands. They called me about an hour later and told me my items were ready. I sold 27 items for about $85 dollars. You have to understand they are trying to buy items they can resell for the largest profit. So you are looking at like $3-4 dollars an item on average. I knew this and expected this. At that point, my mentality is usually, "anything is better than me just taking them to Goodwill and getting nothing". If you are looking for Poshmark prices then consigning is not you best option. I had a few Lily Pulitzer items that they wanted, priced and we agreed that I would be better served to sell them elsewhere for more money. They were not stingy or annoyed by this at all. I really appreciated their patience and understanding with my higher-priced items. You learn so much on your first go. Now that I have sold to them, I know better what inventory they seek, their client base. They will also donate any unbought items for you so it saves you a stop to the donation center! I will be back next time I closet clean. read more

Don't waste your time trying to sell any of your clothes here, the name says it all, they're absolute cheapskates. They have false advertising on social media that claims they'll give you cash for your items but they end up denying you for "inventory" purposes even when they don't have anything in the store like what you bring. Not to mention the overwhelming smell in the store when you walk in, you can be there for 5 minutes and still walk out smelling like it. This is a great store and it's a wonderful place to save money and get the best quality brands designer brands too and because I wear an extra extra large size they often have things at reduced rates there because not everybody wears those sizes. Never realized that uptown cheapskate was franchised or even outside of the west coast, so I was extremely surprised to find it here. I just moved here a few months ago and was excited to be able to go to another location. This location was clean and well organized. Staff is friendly and they have such a stacked collection of designer items. I've never seen so many in an Uptown Cheapskate location before. I've worked in retail for years and have worked in second hand retail dealing with pricing and authenticating items. It did seem that their pricing was very high for used items that have been out of season for years. Some items were barely priced lower than the item being new and at full price. The rest of the store had pretty decent pricing and it was easy to find multiple pieces to try on. Their men's section is also one of the best I've seen. Plenty of options. My boyfriend and I made some purchases and will be going back in the future. Not sure how prices would be for selling to them, but my experience with past locations and the other reviews from this location make me assume they don't take many items and will not give you much money for them. If you are just looking to donate anyways, then might as well see what you can get. read more

Called about bringing items in for consignment & was told to text photos. My issue is that the person never had the courtesy to respond back at all. I was in the estate biz so I recognize that dealers are busy, may not want certain items or may not want / need anything during slow summer months in FL. I have a great variety of things from antique, mcm, contemporary designer clothing, signed fine crystal & decorative items. I'm downsizing so my 99yr young Mom can move in. I'm not desperate & I'm not greedy. I know what the market brings down here. I just as soon give my things away to friends or donate than chasing people with slacker business practices. It takes one minute or less to have the courtesy to text or call back. A simple no thank you, we really can't use would have been acceptable. Complete waste of time. I took 7 brand new pairs of Sam Edelman heels, and other top designer shoes (because their website stated shoes were an "in demand" item, a dress over $200 with the tags still on and they refused all of my shoes because they weren't in good condition. THEY HAD NEVER BEEN WORN. They offered $10 for the dress. I told them I would pass and donate it to Goodwill as opposed to being insulted with a $10 offer.
