Terrible service fitting room women super rude ! Never going to that location again!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge fan of Ross, but this location is a little chaotic. I went to the shoe department first and gave up because the sizes were all mixed up. I refuse to go to each section in hopes of finding my size in the wrong place. I should have known that's how the rest of the store would be. Things were all over the place. If you want a day of extra searching, this location is for you. It's like a scavenger hunt. Thankfully, I was able to find a few clothing items that I liked and went to check out. The regular line was long, so I decided to try the self check out. That was a mistake that took even longer than the regular lane. I get you have to have merchandise security, but it takes forever for the guy to help each person self checking out. He is the one to take off the security tags after you purchase your items, and then he counts what you got to your receipt. If I knew that was the case, I would have just wanted in line. I love Ross, but this location is a skip for me unless they can get organized. read more

There's just a lot of useful little things you can find if you are willing to look through the store. I can always find many items for great deal. The store was partially organized and clean. There are lots of sections : men's, kids, women's, juniors, home goods, shoes, accessories, and way more. They have a very large variety of clothing. In the women's section there is a very great range of clothes for different occasions. They sell lots of name brand active wear like Nike, adidas, puma, and way more. They also sell lots of dress clothes and maternity clothes. I usually come here to buy active wear for very good price. In the men's department they sell shoes, joggers, ties, suits, etc. The store sells a lot of name brand shoes too like Nike, adidas, timberlands, etc. Also, the store sells lots of dresses for many different occasions. I don't know what to make of this chain of stores. I wonder how they stay in business. I have only been into the store a handful of times and they never seem to have what I want or need. I did get lucky once I went in and there was an original NFL Brian Urlacher jersey, No 54 for $22. Back in the day when he played for the Bears he was as bald headed as a large boiled egg. now there are billboards of Brian Urlacher (before as a large egg) & after with a full head of hair, but I digress. My cousin was in town recently on a work trip. He was visiting from overseas and wanted a shopping excursion at Ross. He had heard that I took his brother to a Ross and I guess the experience left a lasting impression of fantastic deals. So, this cuz, wanted to experience it also. Per his witness, the deals are as good as the local Home goods store. (I dunno if I'd go that far. The Home Goods store across the street has killer deals. But I may have bias because it's cleaner and shelves are stocked neatly.) But he agreed with my estimation that Ross is like treasure hunting. Nothing is in any sort of order but if you're persistent and willing, it is possible to find something worth diving through all the chaos. Cuz ended up with some luggage and some womens gear for his daughters. He also picked up a gaudy, name-branded winter coat. A jacket that was dirty white with the brand name written across the collar in bold writing. He was so jazzed about the buy that he'd forgotten his winter coat (I had lent him). He left it in the fitting room, hung behind the door. When he emerged from the store and realized how cold it was, he went running back to the fitting room to find my jacket. It wasn't there however. When asking around, employees hadn't any clue where it could be. Well, while exiting the store he noticed the jacket hung up with other clothing.??? This jacket did not have tags on it and looks like a personal belonging. It also had some amount of his cologne on it to boot. Why would they hang it up? No tags, nothing that denotes a new item for purchase. Why? Oh bother.. It's Ross. read more

This is the worst Ross ever it is a Saturday and only 2 cashiers. This is not the first time I pass by on a weekend and only 2 cashiers are on the floor with a long line. While looking for seasonal decor, I noticed a pair of cute Vince Camuto heels that were only $24.99. My joy quickly diminished when I saw that they were a size 9, and just in the wrong section. I have small feet for a tall woman, and tend to always see my size unavailable, as it is so common. Fortunately, my luck changed when I spotted a 7.5 resting among a pile of randomly sized shoes. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (times infinity) LOVE Ross. I know it gets crazy and it can be a bit disorganized, but every single time I come here I find some weird knick knack, piece of clothing, purse, hair product, lotion, shoe, perfume, snack, gift, night stand, candle or any other wack-a-doodle thing and buy it. It's a great place if you want to browse for all types of stuff. I am not a huge department store shopper because I feel overwhelmed with all the choices. This place is perfect in that they do not offer too many choices but enough if you want to spend two hours here :) The only downside and this is if you are a picky person or do not like crowds: It can sometimes be crowded and does not always have every style available in all sizes. If I could give zero stars, I would give it to this store. It is 100% completely and utterly FILTHY!! I've never been so appalled as I have been going into this store -- the entire store has product all over the floors and you literally cannot find anything... the Good Will is more organized and pleasant on any other given day. The lines are beyond slow and the staff is unresponsive. I stood in the return line for over a half hour and lost my patience....I was only the third person in line. The woman standing in front of me maintained her position with complete grace and I applaud her. I moved over to the purchase line to make my return. When the next cashier opened up and I was about to leave, the other cashier asked for the next purchaser to step over and that person literally had just walked up to the purchase line and the woman that was standing in front of me in the return line dropped her jaw in shock. At this very moment I spoke up because I completely lost patience for this store. After waiting in line for over 30 minutes, there's no excuse to claim that you are understaffed when you're not paying an ounce of attention to how long your customers have been standing in line. I walked in and was immediately disgusted. The store was ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. The women's clothing was so so disorganized and chaotic. Most of the clothes/shoes/items were thrown on the floor or on top on the racks in piles. This kind of destruction did not happen in one day. The manager should be ashamed. Oh no, don't do it, don't waste your time driving up to Niles, really just go to Marshall's on Fullerton, just east of Damen. I say this because this is where I thought I was. No joke. Same type of merchandise, same type of layout. As you walk in they had some odds and end of exercise stuff, a few yoga mats, a couple of exercise balls, and weights. Then the bulk of the place was clothing on racks, Marshall's style, then in back some housewares, furniture items, vases and then the weird food stuff. Just like Marshall's some coffee, spices, syrups, etc. I'm sorry I keep saying, "just like Marshall's" because I have to ask was this a Marshall's before and they changed the sign? This place is a shithole. After finding a few things i liked in this damn mess ,me and my mom went to the fitting room, parked our cart on the side (like a parking lot) . My mom went in first with 3 dresses, after a minute I noticed that she left one shirt behind, so I decided to hand it to her . Not so easy to do at Ross ! Girl in charge with really ugly red hair told me ,in a really rude way ,I cant go in,she must come out first and then go in AGAIN to try the shirt ,really?? ROSS is a good store, no complains of the merchandise or store itself, its the employees that make your shopping experience terrible- My husband tried 2-pairs of shoes and he wanted to test it to make sure and walk a few steps but it had a tie/ string, he kindly asked an employee if he can seperate it so he can try it, the gentleman was rude about it and so was the lady who was a LOSS PREVENTIONLADY. They mentioned it was due to it being separated if placed back on the shelf. It appeared if one they were lazy of putting a string back on it and refused to help out- so much for customer service. We get it fine but the attitude- my husband really liked the shoes and he put it on in front of them and walked around with it and pulled the shoes apart so the string broke and he walked right in front of the LPS lady and the guy that works there and the guy approached him rudely, and I said he just wants to try it for comfort he wont take it or anything. Then he had attitude about them putting it back on the shelf later on. We get in line to check out, LPS lady rudely stairs and mocks my husband, and my husband asks her "Excuse me you have a problem with me" she YELLS at him and says: I can fuckin stare at you if I wanted to, I aint scared of you. Who the fuck you think you are! -- She says this to my husband, of course he would answer and it gets nasty, I still bought the pair of shoes and hence that all employees were rude- its a terrible place to go to! Ross is usually my go-to department store when I need affordable clothing and other knick knacks. This location seems to always be busy since it is located in a high traffic plaza. This Ross is always always always messy. The toy section is out of order since parents seems to let their children use this store as a playground. They seems to always be understaffed as well. For the location, corporate should suggest having more staff members because checking out is usually the worse. If you come on a good day, there may be three people ahead of you. On a bad day, expect there to be 20 or so. Overall, I always come back to this location because I find most things affordable. read more

So I went back. We've been invited to a wedding so I thought, ok, they had a lot of dresses, I'll give them another whirl. They actually had a lot of cute ones this time and I found two. I perused a few other racks, got some other inexpensive stuff. Found some shoes to go with the dresses that were super cute, plus a nifty little clutch with attitude. Since my first visit, they've tidied up the store, though the racks themselves are still a jumbled hanger-stickie-uppie, clothes everywhere mess. Shoes -- if you find a pair you like but not in your size, be sure to check all the other sizes. That department seems to be a shelving free-for-all and I found my shoes in the 8's when they should have been elsewhere. Prices are still good to confusing, but in all, it seems some kinks have worked themselves out. Quality isn't high on the check-list here, be advised; I purchased a shirt here the first time I went and after one wash, it shrank to uselessness even though I followed the directions. Checkout lines -- ghastly long and slow. Once you get to the checkout, they are very pleasant. In the end, up a half star to 3.5 -- things worked out on this past visit, though the racks, bins and shelves still need some lovin'. read more

Best Ross I've been to thus far (I've been to all 3 in the area). Really great friendly staff. I always seem to have issues with the fitting room people at these kinds of places. Not here. They have a huge selection which they some how manage to keep organized. I found a lot of nice things at really great prices. I came here to pass time before work and needed to use the bathroom. They need to be better about keeping their bathrooms maintained with toilet paper because two stalls had NO toilet paper . One managed to have toilet paper but the seat covers wasn't replenished. They needed a better hand dryer like Xilarator the one they had kept cutting in and out. The store was clean and organized. Ross has competition with HomeGoods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Burlington in terms of clothing and home stuff. You can get some good name brand items for 50-60% off the department store price. read more

Bad customer service. They have a ridiculous hanger return policy. If you do not return the hangers that were attached to the clothes you want to try on, they will not let you take any of the clothes you tried on, not even the ones you want to buy. When asked about it, the shift manager used a very annoyed and impolite tone to explain that I'll have to take it or leave it. I guess that the Ross store chain and their employees need customers to do their jobs. A pleasant stroll in the store became a bad shopping experience due to a ridiculous policy and the way management handled my complaint. read more

I am not particularly keen on Ross stores. I usually find them to be horribly unorganized or poorly stocked. This particular Ross store is the latter, perhaps because they are so scarcely stocked there isn't much to mess up. I came in here looking for fleece pajamas and I found 3, one being XL and the other two XXL. As someone who is a SMALL and on the short side, this is very annoying. This is not an isolated incident. Various times I have come looking for something but their small selection is almost non-existent. I am not sure when they get new shipments but every time I have been there, selections of anything is scarce and it looks half empty. They totally have more square footage than the items they are selling. Same thing for kids clothes... I have never been able to find anything in the sizes I am looking for.. For a certain size for example, they will have only a couple of shirts and a few pants.. Not a very wide selection at all.. can't comment on the service of the staff because I have never been able to really purchase anything being that they have such a limited assortment read more

Worst experience! The "manager" Maritza refuses to give cash back on a return that was made yesterday with tags on and receipt in hand. She states that because it was purchased at a different Ross location she is unable to give cash back only store credit. Even though I paid with cash. She was rude and unprofessional and not even apologetic about the inconvenience. read more

My favorite Ross in the area! The best time to go is early morning- shelves are clean and racks are usually well stocked. Lines moving quickly and cashiers are friendly. It's definitely a madhouse after 5pm or on weekends so avoid if you can. read more

About a week ago I purchased a couple of items at the store, as I am not a frequent shopper at the store I am not familiar with their check out procedures. There was only one associate at the checkout lines and that counter that had a sign Returns/customer service, right above, and people standing in line. Since no other associate were to be seen I stood at that line thinking they were short handed and so they have this attendant also serving as check out. When an associate appeared at the checkout counter a woman darted in front of me towards that counter. I said, "excuse me, I was here first". The attendant said "you are standing in a wrong line" and proceeded ringing her merchandise. I said how was I supposed to know that I am in a wrong line, there were no attendants at the check outs". Than the manager came and said "don't you see the signs?" I said "what signs?". He than removed merchandise covering the signs, pointing at them. I said "are they visible?" He persisted they are visible, which was not the case. As I was leaving the store he was taunting me with the grin on his face: "Call the corporate, call the corporate!" Very bad customer service. I tried to return some ladies underwear the non smiling, very rude person as a cashier told me I couldn't. I had bought them the day before. She said maybe one of them because it had the hangers so I pulled out the hanger for the other one from the bag and said no because it's not attached. I called another store and they said as long as the tags are attached you can. WELL they were!!! I ended up going to another store. Yelp is always fun to remember when and where you went -I can't believe that it was almost a full two years since I had been to this location. I have to say, since my first review, I've become a bigger fan of Ross, hitting up several of the area locations. While this is not my lucky place for shoes (like CW Price is for me), I have scored some cute purses, professional work dresses and, just overall, some cool and unique finds. Like my friend Arlene G. says, this place is not for the faint of heart. All the locations are usually crowded, a little chaotic -it's similar in layout and organization to a TJ Maxx or Marshalls. So, that said, things are not organized by item, beautifully showcased. This is a treasure hunt! You gotta go to your section / size and then rummage through a hundred things to find something cool. Then, if you can't a find your size, you gotta be slick and look in the other sizes (like I do) just in case. Nine times out of ten, I score what I'm looking for! read more

This is the worst Ross store I have ever been too. The customer service was HORRIBLE. There is a bunch of rude cashiers and the supervisor or manager was also of no help. They didn't pay attention to this Hispanic lady asking for help. They didn't speak Spanish so they tried to ignore her until other customers noticed and said something to the cashiers. I wish I could call their corporate office and explain to them how rude and unprofessional the staff is here. Nothing BUT bad videos and negative remarks I have for them. I went there 1 week ago to return my curtains (length was too short) As I return them, she looks at me and pauses (discrimination) and Anna calls over someone to approve of my 1 week undamaged return. At this point I only want to return $40 worth of items however I was purchasing even more!!
