03/02/26 - Gas at this Costco up from $284.9 this morning to $295.9 this evening. Thanks Donnie The longer this war drags on the more expensive gas becomes

Yikes, what a freak show of bad manners and horrible etiquette and that was just me. Not sure why the people in here are in such a frenzy the prices aren't that great and the selection is kind of blah. Makes Target seem like boutique shopping.

I was able to visit my local Costco. Happy to go on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Samples provided were tasty and fresh. Staff was helpful and showed me exactly what aisle to visit for a specific item. I specifically visit Costco for Pom Juice where I see best price for an extra large bottle, a great value. Costco is super crowded on the weekends. I will continue to look for day of the week where the store is less crowded.

This Costco seems to be one of the more inefficient warehouses; the cashier and the self-check out lines are super inefficient, as the staff are just not paying attention and helping with the quick scanning; you can't really find any staff on site to help you locate certain items; the selection is pretty limited, and we had issues in finding certain products that are 'normally' carried. Make sure you look closely at the expiration dates on baked goods; more of the 'fresh' ones are nestled in the center, stacked under the ones that they want patrons to purchase first. Their gas station is across the street, but sometimes, dealing with the inefficient process with the multiple lines and the staff not directing vehicles who refuse to pull out makes you think twice of trying to get cheaper petrol. Plenty of parking in their large lot, but it's tight, and there are some vehicles who tend to speed and make sharp turns. +inefficient and unavailable staff +limited in varieties +parking available

After being nagged by a friend & shopping with family, I decided to join the club. This is my local Costco & after having gone more times than I care to admit, it's time for a review. Returns? Expect a line. But if you know, you know - Costco has a stellar return policy. Other lines? They look worse than they actually are. (To clarify, I don't shop on weekends.) I've seen the age old question, "Does a single person need a Costco membership?" Yes, yes you do. I HATE running out of anything. Even for toiletries & cleaning supplies, you can expect to save quite a bit - just prepare to play Tetris with storing some of the items. They have delicious frozen items - burgers, veggies, shrimp, etc. I'll also buy my coffee here. Other items such as gummy vitamins, windshield wipers, Pyrex food storage - it's all here. The value of a membership cannot be understated. I've stopped buying burgers out because their options are amazing. Bread / bagels / buns? Split the bag in half & shove the rest in the freezer. I have also ordered a noise cancelling headset online & was able to get a price adjustment easily. Oh & snacks... do not forget the snacks. The icing on the cake is self-check out & grabbing a slice of pizza on the way out. Do yourself a favor & shop here. They'll even let you return the membership if you're unsatisfied.

Ugh, this is my least favorite Costco location. We try hard to avoid this place on the weekends but every now and then it is still worth dropping in. All Costcos do not carry the same products and this one often has Asian products (like sauces, ramen, dumplings, etc) not available at other locations due to their ethnically diverse customer base. Weekday visits are not too bad but depending on the time it can still be surprisingly busy. The aisles here are also tight because they are typically crammed with a lot of stuff. As it also sits on the Niles/Chicago border, the gas station here is almost always backed up with long lines of opportunistic Chicagoans. Oh well, I can't blame them, just be ready to see them.

I've been a Costco member since 2007 and I really enjoy my membership benefits. For those not in the know, Costco Wholesale is a retail store that sells goods and grocery in bulk. Some sites like this one have a discounted gas station. Our basic staples on our every 2-3 month visits consist of Toilet Paper, Towel Paper, Dishwasher Tabs etc, etc. The list can be limitless and you'll begin to understand why within minutes of walking in the confines. We've also scored great deals here on electronics, purchasing our recent OLED LG TV a few months back. My only issue with Costco is their Travel section on their website. Don't get me wrong, they have great vacation deals but since they are a 3rd party travel site, trying to get through to a travel rep with questions is almost impossible. Current 2022 Gold Star membership is $60.00/annually and Executive membership is $120.00.

Or I could have searched Yelp for a noteworthy shaving goods store($$$). Instead, I found a shop where barbers and stylists go to buy their goods en masse. A trading shop per se, with products from all over the world and pricing from cheap to expensive. The shop is setup like those created for merchandisers, shop owners, and those buying in bulk. It's not pretty nor are products setup in a brilliant display. A shop keeper is on hand and not in view when one enters the store. There are racks upon racks with nondescript items piled. Tell the shopkeeper what you're looking for and off you go. So what'd I get? I was shown a number of flat blade razors. Some super cheap, some super pricey and others in-between. He mentioned having the old style and the newer. The older style is a safety razor which is a one-time use blade. Looks easy to use but also seems to be wasteful. I opted for a cheap plastic import which uses disposable blades. I paid about $11 dollars for two items and I have blades that will last me for the next couple years! (Blades used in this sort of shaver are ultra thin and create less waste than what's purchased for say a Gillette or Schick type razor). I'm using Youtube to teach me how to use the blade. The shopkeeper only knows so much..

Her brother Ed lives in Quezon City w/his daughter and 3 grandkids. 2 girls and 1 boy. My wife calls frequently to check up and see how he's doing (I mean even if there was a problem he wouldn't tell her). So anyway she was talking to him last night to see how he's doing and if there were any specific items that he needed. The 7 year old granddaughter was asked if she wanted anything. She doesn't want anything like a Barbie doll she wants an i phone X. Yeah right let's get her a $1000 i phone X. Maybe one for her sister too lol. We recently found out after years of driving by that it is open to the public. This coupled by our plans to go to the Philippines early next year we ventured into the building that houses Advance Distributors to see if there was anything we could find. Upon entering we found row after row of merchandise some of value and others not so much (kind of like a giant flea market). I met one the owners Vijay who told me they have been there since 1974. It was originally owned by his father and now he & his brother run Advance Distributers. He told me he would give me a discount, but much of the discount is volume driven and I didn't need to buy more of certain items. Unfortunately there wasn't much that we needed from the store & many of the items that were name brand items I have bought when on sale at other stores at lower prices.

If that sounds like you, this is the place for you. That's doubly so if you want both absurd and designer fragrances at discounted prices. Once in a while, things cost the same as at a regular store (hello, seasonal candy), but generally these are Five Below prices. Some things are sold in bulk for even more savings--nag champa super hit is a steal here! I like to come here for packing and mailing supplies. Never spend $5 for a roll of packing tape again! Bubble mailers of all sizes are $1.50 for two! These are the exact same things you'd buy at the UPS store but without the steep markup. The staff is a whole lot friendlier, too. It's also good for coloring books--so cheap, and some kids just go right through them. Now, the downside. They sell out of things fairly often. The place is not beautiful. You get dollar store quality for many items with dollar store prices. There's often only one type of a given item, so if you don't like the color on hand, tough cookies. It's close to both the Lawrence and Pulaski buses, but not the train or bike racks, and parking a car can be a pain. Keep your expectations low and your mind open to have the best possible shopping experience here.

We stumbled upon the furry friends, hamsters and guinea pigs as we were looking at the cacti's, then that led to the bird aviary where folks can donate to interact with the birds. There are so many of them. We then heard a waterfall and walked towards it and got stopped in our tracks by buddy the turtle next to the koi pond. It's literally like Narnia here. The wife says we came here once before many years ago but I don't remember it.  They've been at it here for 53 years since 1972. Normally, we avoid it due to the madhouse scene that is usually here (like when traffic can't even enter the parking lot from busy Milwaukee Ave because the parking lot is overflowing lol).  Well, it was -3F on a frigid Friday night and we were across Milwaukee Ave at the Jewel, and it was eerily quiet in Jewel, and we thought it was as good a time as any to also visit Jerry's lol. Well, it was relatively calm, and we found a close by parking spot, but there were still plenty of shoppers in Jerry's.  Their inventory is huge and truly impressive as are their prices.  No wonder this place is so super popular.  We picked up some cherries for $2.49 per lb and strawberries at a promo price of $0.79 per 1 lb container.  I would say 4.5 stars for our visit tonight, but really on their normal super-crowded shopping basis, I would still say 3 stars overall.  I don't personally think the hassle factor of shopping here for fruits and vegetables is worth it for the savings and the variety of offerings, thus the 2 star deduct.  But you have to decide for yourself, and apparently for many others, Jerry's is well worth the trip, and kudos to Jerry's for that and continued good luck and success to them.
