Love this store, its so quiet and chill. Its actually my very first time shopping there because I never been to this location before. and the store has pretty good selections, and the staff there including the SPS guy at the front have great customer service!!! The fitting room lady was also kind too and I even do fitting room at Ross as well (the one on Truxel in Natomas, if you're familiar with that one), and she also has excellent customer service skills. Although I felt sorry for the customers who couldn't get to the restroom due to the restroom having issues. Adding to the conclusion, the cashier at the front (a young lady with blonde straight hair) was so polite and helpful to me plus she has great customer service! I go to different Ross stores all the time, and I've seen signs asking customers to remove the hangers for faster service, so when I got in line for check out I looked around for the sign & didn't see it. The cashier, when she started checking me out, made a point of putting me on blast by getting on the speaker & reminding customers to remove their hangers & apologized for the wait, not once but twice. I too work in customer service & understand the frustration sometimes, but when you go out of your way to embarrass your customer, you should look for a diffent line of work. read more

First time at this Ross location. Customer service is good. Employee and security greeted my family and I when we walked in and even offered us a cart. Really clean and organized here. They have a good selection of shoes and clothes. Definitely more different styles than the south Sacramento Ross locations. read more

Today I was buying some stuff 40 minutes before closing and cashier Leticia I think was very rude to me. I didn't do anything bad and didn't say anything that was provoking to that but her manner she talked to me inexcusable. I left some item aside on my way because I changed my mind and she told me in command and rude tone to bring to her. The same was with shopping cart I didn't put on right spot and she again with same rude tone told me to put back. Okey, I can put back it's not hard to me, but way she talked to me as to customer is unacceptable. I'm customer that brings money to store, and I want good customer service as well. Twenty people in line and only one cashier while there's an employee sorting hangers and two security guards. So ridiculous!

Cashier never greeted me so I said "HI HOW ARE YOU!". She replied, "FINE". Then annoyingly demanded I pay on the other side. After the transaction was complete she handed me my receipt and shoes and walked away looking irritated. I'm never rude but this set me off and I said loudly to my husband, "wow she was friendly". Not the first time I've had some kind of issue with this store. I'm sad for myself for continuing to put myself in a situation where I always receive horrible customer service. Their employees are not properly trained and have no clue what they are doing. Management as well. Today I was in for a pair of black leggings and for a nice fitting pair on the clearance rack. No name brand. Nothing special. But fit for my height (4'11"). So I brought them up to the counter where they looked up a price and said $11.99. What are you talking about??? Your full priced leggings are 5.99-7.99 and the ones I found on clearance was more???? Wow. These guys are not good at their jobs. The customer service might be a lil rough around the edges but this location is a hidden gem especially if you are looking for more expensive items ( the cheap cheap goes fast here) that would be scooped up fast at the Roseville or Carmichael locations. read more

I love this store & the only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars is the lack of cashier support once up to the register and for that I blame the management as at best I've seen two people manning the registers regardless of the long lines of paying customers like myself waiting to pay... I've shopped here at least a half a dozen times IF not more over the past 4-5 months and each time I go in I remember why I love this one more than the others I've been to in Sacramento thus far: Eclectic melange of 'thing's' that I love and have been looking for like, wind chimes, anything with owls ie: painted ceramic owl pieces (yes I have a thing for owls amongst many other things so don't judge), gardening gloves and things for our garden and house such as mirrors & neatest 'vintage era' designed decor. Pricing has always been below other Ross stores and stores in general as I tend to shop the clearance sections and delight in doing so. The store itself is large but not as big as some I've shopped at however its their decor, garden and knicknack areas I focus on the most although their clothing for men and women is substantial even if their shoe selection could be more expansive. One area that has chapped my hide was when I was making a run there on my lunch hour recently and purchased a bunch of very delicate & fragile items and they ran out of bags. Yes you read that right. NO bags what so ever to bag up the beloved crap purchased by said shoppers. I know right? It only happened once but stuck with me as even when they are stocked with bags their sizes are limited. Not a deal breaker but enough of an annoyance to mention so now I take in my own eco-friendly bags empty as it provides better cushioning for breakables too. Clean as far as all Ross stores go. The lady that checked me out had a disgusting attitude. No idea what her name was but she was a tall skinny african american with long straight hair. She called me up and started checking out my things, as someone that works in customer service, i make it a point to greet every customer i help, ask if they found everything alright, you know, the courteous banter we get PAID to say? I tried to talk to her and nothing. Like, i dont care what is going on, you hide those issues from your customers. And she just ignored me. I was just at the Ross store buying stalking stuffers and other things for my upcoming vacation. I needed a Fanny pack, and since they were locked I asked for assistance in unlocking the one I picked. The ladies I asked were a security person who was talking with another employee. I said excuse me 3 times as they were two feet away from me. Finally they decide to listen to me. I politely asked to purchase a Fanny. They didn't tell me they had to can anyone over, they just said "OK." So, I patiently kept browsing. Then a minute or two later I see a bitter looking tweak looking lady standing in front of me starring at me. As I looked up at her scary looking annoyed face, she gave me a look like I was suppose to read her mind and she said "I thought you wanted a bag." I was like OHHH NO SHE DINT! I'm the wrong one honteeee!!! She realized this real quick when I responded with "Oh, I didn't know you we're here to help me. All you did was stare at me without a word." She tried to be smart alic and say "You were still looking." So I responded with, "Yes, I was looking while waiting for help. I'm no mind reader. Then the security lady and her co-worker laughed. $200 spent in a Ross with tweaker, uneducated, unprofessional employees was a bitter sweet experience. I like that the Ross is well stocked, but some (not all) the employees need a quick class in CUSTOMER service skills. Because I can bet that tweak manager will have a bad day today thanks to me and my response to her lack of service skills. Acting like her being there is a luxury for me. I went in to purchase a dress for a wedding. I tried it and loved it. I was waiting for one online to arrive but wanted this one in hand in case the other didn't work out. When I purchased it - I ASKED WHAT THEIR RETURN POLICY IS. The cashier said, "if you bring it back within 30 days with receipt and tags you can get money back. If no receipt or past 30 days, you will get store credit." I asked my husband to return the dress while I was at work - he had the receipt AND tags but since I paid with my card they refused to give him cash back or return the money to the card. Neither the receipt NOR the cashier said anything about presenting the card you used for returning. AND SHE WAS A BITCH ABOUT IT. read more

This is the closest Ross to my house and I have always been able to leave this store with something I've LOVED at an undeniably reasonable price! I usually go in for one thing and leave with 5 other things but hey their stuff is ever-changing, super chic, and so affordable! I have found several amazing pieces for our home as well as gifts and I always check Ross first before going elsewhere as they usually have what i'm looking for. The customer service at this particular location has been mediocre...It is hit or miss. The parking here is plentiful and the hours are great! read more

This location tends to attract a certain kind of shopper in the area, but there haven't been any negative experiences...except for an odd duck screaming at my husband and I for the hell of it as we walked out. My wife visited this store recently to return a t-shirt and shop for other items. She had the receipt, but had removed the tags. The clerk was busy and told my wife to keep the shirt with her while she shopped. When she returned to check out, a different clerk claimed that the item was not sold at their store, also that it appeared to have been washed. Then security was called to stand near my wife (a 65 yr old grandmother with a cane), while someone went to check the store's video. All checked clear. My wife asked why all this was necessary, and received no nice words, no apologies, merely "Well, it's policy, we have to check". Better policy would be to handle it when the customer first presented the item. My wife felt humiliated. We will not shop there again. read more

Too many bad experiences here. I've passed on purchasing many thing in here because of bad customer service. Tonight, I am done. I slid my card and it wouldn't work at their terminal, and it had just worked. My strip is worn down but, not horrible. The cashier grabs the card, throws a bag over the strip, slides it, keeps trying and then crack! She broke my card. Over the customer service here. This is the worst staffed ROSS I have ever seen. All but one- a wonderful Russian woman near the shoe section- I've seen are rude and ingenuine- or maybe it's just me or some random bad luck. On Saturday, April 30, 2011 my aunt and cousin were visiting from out of town. My cousin is an Autistic teen. She is nonverbal, so she communicates in a different way- she hums and makes different sounds. However, like most teenage girls she likes to shop. While were shopping at the Ross store, located at 6737 Watt Avenue, North Highland, CA, the assistant manager approached us and asked if we could hush her up. She continued to say that she was disturbing the customers. My aunt asked her: What were we? Were we not customers? Of course my cousin's mother was shocked and hurt. As a result, she had a spasm and asthma attack. I was shocked, appalled and flabbergasted. There were other customers that were surprised by what they heard, as well. To our dismay we decided to not patronize this store and some other customers felt to do the same. My heart was hurt by this bad move that this Ross store made. My cousin has the freedom and rights to shop like any other consumer. I hate that the assistant manager wanted my cousin to shut up. She was not harming anyone, she was just communicating in a different way that is not familiar to others. We will not shop at this Ross store. If you can relate, sympathize, or understand the wrongness of how Ross mistreated a disabled person, then I urge you to consider thinking twice before shopping at this store, too. I'm the type of person who hates pretentiousness, and this store definitely doesn't have that. I used to shop at Ross a lot in the 80s and 90s, and now what I am noticing is that it seems the stores are keeping their inventories much lower, at least for men's clothing. I remember when racks were stuffed with pants and shirts, but the racks at this store are somewhat sparse. Still, I found a pair of pants that fit me for a decent price, though no shirts for my large size. I did however find a cool pair of Nikes for dirt cheap (size 17!). When I checked out there was a line and eventually another employee came to the register. Service could probably be a bit faster but who cares I guess, no major issue. I'm in there for cheap clothes that fit me. I was there on a weekday and there was hardly anybody in the store. The cashier told me that this location used to be an Albertson's. I gotta say, it's not the Ross I remember from years past, but I like it and I will go back to catch some bargains on men's clothes and maybe shoes. read more
