I try not to come into the store because the experience is typically pretty poor, and this time was no exception. I came to Ross to take a look at sweaters and dresses, and spent some time looking through the clothes. I had some items to try on and went to the fitting room at the back only to be redirected to the two temporary fitting rooms at the front of the store. As I headed that direction, there was a sign saying that those were closed, directing me to the back of the store. There is no staff available besides the cashiers who are tending to a very long line, but I was able to cut in for a quick second and ask one of the cashiers if all the fitting rooms in the store were closed, to what she replied that is correct. It seems very strange to be a store that has a ton of clothing as part of what you sell and have no fitting rooms open for no relevant reason. The store never has any workers on the floor to answer questions and everything tends to look picked over every time I go in. It is quite surprising to me that it remains open in the Brier Creek shopping center. read more

Yesterday, my friend and I were out shopping in search of dresses for an upcoming wedding we are attending. I suggested we stop by Ross since they typically have fairly decent stuff at good prices, so off we went. We picked out several dresses, but when we went to try them on, the dressing rooms were closed. Unphased, we both stood at the back of the store and tried the dresses on over our clothing. Granted, not the best option, but it let us know fit and gave us a general idea if the styles were flattering. After we had tried on about 4 dresses each, we were approached by 3 store employees who informed us that we were not allowed to try the clothing on at all because of COVID. It didn't stop there though. We were also told that because we had tried them on, anything we didn't buy "would have to be quarantined." My friend pointed out that we were fully clothed at all times and we were told that it didn't matter. I responded, "So every piece of clothing in the store will be quarantined as well because it's being touched by everyone here?" To which one replied, "No, it's because you tried them on." We had each found dresses that we liked, but we decided that they could quarantine them all and we went elsewhere. Three things were made abundantly clear to us... 1. These ladies were obviously not interested in making sales and it's a good bet they had no stock options or ownership of any kind. 2. Whether this is a Ross corporate rule or something these employees arbitrarily decided amongst themselves, it's apparent that someone is unclear on how COVID-19 is spread. 3. You have to purchase the clothing, try it on at home, then bring it back if it doesn't work... at which point, I guess they'll quarantine it? On a side note, we found even nicer dresses at a different store and we were welcomed into their dressing rooms with open arms. read more

I've always had issues with this location but since they are the only store open late in the area, I figured I'd give it another try. I managed to find one item to purchase and was waiting in line when another customer came up from the sales floor and went straight to the cashier. The cashier did not ask him to get in line just proceeded to check him out. Most of his items weren't priced which meant he kept shopping while the cashier waited. As if this wasn't frustrating enough, there were 2 other employees lounging around the registers who clearly weren't interested in doing work. I would NOT recommend this Ross even if you only need one item. read more

This was a horrible location. I hope that they clean this up and get more inventory to this location all of the locations in the triangle area. It's sad that these stores get the least amount of inventory. This HUGE store is super bare. the racks are pretty empty and there is plenty of floor space. I surprisingly found a few things that I wanted to try on. The racks are always so empty. The store feels empty in general as well. I had my infant child in tow, and proceeded to the dressing room. But wait! Dressing rooms were closed. They DO offer 2 "convenient" changing stalls at the front of the store.....but there's no room for a cart, or my child, to join me in the "broom closet." I ended up leaving with none of my finds since I couldn't try anything on. I have since returned, and to my dismay they still don't have the regular dressing room open. Looks like TJ Maxx is my new "go to" place. read more

Almost didn't receive two stars. The loss prevention employee was the most inviting. We were welcomed with a cheerful greeting on entering the store. The store was in such disarray things were not in it's proper place as far as adult shoes kid shoes, ect. The intimate wear section was completely mixed up, the sizing rack was missed numbered. The floor staff was not inviting and unhelpful. Upon check out the cashier wasn't cheerful, you can tell she was bothered by something. I love shopping at Ross for inexpensive home decor. The main down fall for the Ross stores is the customer service they offer. I understand retail can be a mess and stressful, having a willful spirit goes a long way. read more

After getting to the check out line and finding 2 cashiers and about 30 people in like before me, I put the $100 worth of clothes and shoes back and left the store. Worst customer service ever! Went to try on clothes, associate did not greet me or even smile, or ask me how everything fit. Then I get to the register where they have a huge line & 1 cashier. Finally a second lady came up ( same lady from the dressing room) who is on her cell phone while people are being rung up (not professional) then I get up to her and she is complaining to the other cashier about scheduling and how she is hungry etc. It's time to retrain your staff or get new ones. I like this Ross a lot. Yes, the racks are empty, but I still manage to find a thing or two. The Loss Prevention Guard, William, is great. He's kind and friendly and doesn't treat you like a potential "crook" lol. I do wish Ross would fill up their racks more, but I've heard they limit items on the floor to reduce theft. Years ago, they looked into why they were losing so much money, and researchers found out that theft was what was really eating into their profits. That's why they started hiring Loss Prevention people, and that's why they keep the racks relatively sparse. Unfortunately the "crooks" are ahead of the game, and now they just engage in return fraud. Oh well, there's not much we can do about that, as customers- just vote with our feet, right? In sum, I do like this location, and I visit it about once a week. They actually have a decent selection of activewear and coats, despite most locations being sold out of both. One star...This is a great store, William and Mike are great Security guys, very nice, funny, and welcoming. I worked here until recently and had no problems with anyone except the managers Rachel and Nadeen. They are both lazy, rude, and slow managers. Nearly every employee that has to deal with them (mostly cashiers) can't stand them because they don't help, most of the tome they stay in the back talking, eating, sitting on their asses while the other managers and employees work their asses off. Rachel and Nadeen do the bare minimum, they leave the store dirty when they close and instead of helping they pull someone else to help and go do nothing again. Aside from that Jamie and Dorothea are great managers, they make sure they help with lines, cover for breaks/lunches, and are super understanding. The cashiers are pretty great, Nysheika, Jakiyah, Daja, Aquila, and Mackenzie are pretty good and were always kind. Hopefully Jamie finally fires them and gets better hell because the store would improve greatly without those two managers. It's sad that I was only there for a short time and worked salesfloor but still realized all of that. read more

The Ross Located at Brier Creek is less than inviting. My husband and I had our 2 year old grandchild for the day. She struggled with us while putting her into the buggy. She didn't fit in the front where babies go. I noticed the security man was watching my husband while I put her into the back of the buggy. THe security man quickly said "if she doesn't sit down in the cart you must put her on the floor." My grandchild usually settles down or calms down if we put her in the bigger part of the buggy and take off rolling. But he didn't give us that chance! We had just finished shopping at the other stores at Brier Creek using the same buggy method without a reprimand. She wasn't crying or anything. So we put her on the floor and walked her around the store and right on OUT. Please Ross order a few buggies that accommodates a 2-4 year old. They make special ones that make it fun for toddlers to push them around in at floor level. Many grocery stores have them now. We are grandparents and we like the secure feel of having our precious cargo inside a buggy safe beside of us. Not running around. We will not return to this location. Since you do carry children and infant clothing it would be wise to add some kid friendly buggies that will keep us grandparents from being fussed at and shopping there. So, if you have children don't go to the Brier Creek location. It's unwelcoming and not child friendly! Interestingly enough, we have shopped at numerous Ross locations with our grandchild using the buggy the same way we always do without issue. read more
