I shop here a lot, just don't think of writing a review. This trip I didn't have time to browse, but got what I came for with the help of another customer. Staff are always nice but there has never been more than 2 registers open at a time and most of the time it's just one. They have a huge selection of books....all kinds including children's books. I buy for my kids here all the time. It's just hard to find if you are looking for something specific. They keep up with items from the current season which is nice. Some prices are better than other stores bur some are not. If you sign up to be a member you get emails about current items, discounts on your order and invitations to special events. You don't want to see pictures....it's not pretty but is worth the trip if you have time to look around. read more

Ollie's is universally known as a store with crazy good prices but you have to dig through piles of rubbish to find them. If you've been to one Ollie's, you've been to them all. They're unorganized and messy, but man, is it fun to find a good bargain! Yes, there's more junk than useful items. However, they do carry lots of name brand items for cheap. I don't know why I buy from retailers at full price, Ollie's is where it's at!! From Yankee Candle to Olay and everything in between, you bet your bottom dollar that you're going home with something...and if you're not, you didn't spend enough time browsing. Here are just a few things I've gotten from Ollie's: a Stephen King graphic novel of The Dark Tower for less than $4, a secret Santa gift filled with journals, crayons, colored pencils, and two drawing pads (don't forget the gift bag, tissue paper, AND a card) for less than $15, Yankee candle melts for less than $2, a Yankee candle oil diffuser for less than $4, a large bag of brand-name veggie chips for less than $2, St. Ives body wash for less than $3, a Febreze car plug in for less than $1. I can go on and on. Ollie's has discounts and it's super easy to spend at least an hour here while you bargain shop. The staff here are very nice! There were two cashiers and one floor staff and they all greeted me nicely and were very friendly. Is Ollie's a disaster? Yes. Are the floors uneven and unfinished? YUP. Are you going to save money? This place was interesting. I just browsed around they definitely could clean up a bit. I wasn't comfortable to be honest. If felt like I was in a knockoff warehouse with random items that may or may not work if I bought them. The front door was broken and just pushed open. Not a place I would want to go back personally. The people working there were really kind though. They were helpful and all in a good mood. The prices seemed reasonable and you could find some good bales if you wanted to look through things. My BFF loves this store and says it is one of the best Ollie's in the area, but it is a bit cluttered with a whole lot of things you don't really need, if you ask me. You really have to take time to look around to find what you are looking for. Some people rave about the price of the books but I couldn't find any titles that interested me. I will say that they have a decent rug selection if you need something very basic and affordable (think Big Lots type quality) -- if you want great quality, however, go to Fenton where you can find rugs at Arhaus and Pottery Barn. Also, toiletries are usually moderately priced here. I found Sensodyne toothpaste deeply discounted, for example. If you aren't put off by a cluttered store and like a good bargain hunt, this may be a good store for you. read more

Typically don't leave reviews but store hours say 9-9. I showed up 25 mins before closing and the door was already locked. The lady just looked at me and said we are closed. Not a good business practice to close almost 30 mins before the actual posted time. read more

This level of customer service is hard to find these days and should be modeled by other retailers. They have a conglomerate of all sorts of things. You can purchase anything from books to furniture to food to yard goods. This location in Cary near the Cary Towne Center Mall. They share a parking lot with other businesses so parking can vary based on the business of the others as well as Ollie's. The location is great and the customer service was perfect! Great way to take care of our needs Ollie's. Only draw back is the decor and ambiance... mannn they have so much stuff it reminds you of a second hand store (but of course everything is new). Used various branches of Ollies for over 25 yrs- it's a kind of outlet that supplies a multitude of different products, from the small to the not-so-small!!. Yes! A lot of stuff is end if run/ products no longer being made but Hell!! Look at the prices- look at the quality -Look at things you never even knew about-things you had forgotten and then look at the prices!! We went to Ollies in Cary, NC last Saturday. My very first bisit. I will never go back. The store is dirty. The bathrooms are nasty. Per the cleaning log not cleaned since September. The handicapped stall was out of order, and the only other stall had no toilet paper. The floor, toilets andcsink were nasty. This is a great place to come and browse. Chances are, you will end up buying something that you never knew you needed ! Today we picked up some brand name paint brushes for 3.99. We had purchased this same brush at Lowe's last summer for more than twice that. Sometimes they have great deals. It's the type of place that requires patience and a knowledge of your prices. Quality of some of the higher end items not as good and not as liberal of a return policy as Target and Walmart but will continue to shop here since they have an excellent selection of all kinds of books and cheaper than Barnes & Noble. I love going to Ollie's, I can get great books at great prices, I love the kitchen supplies as well, as carpets to flooring you can get outdoor things for planting , bird feeding , shovels and ect. They have a lot of pet supplies , that are at pretty good prices. Car supplies and household cleaners. You can get cereal , spices and, snacks as well. This is why I love shopping at Ollie's, they may not have everything but what they have is really good prices. Always lots of bargains to been found here! Tons of books of all sorts, men's clothes, cleaning products, hardware section, small appliances, housewares, rugs, flooring, you name it, they've got it! Great prices can be find for seasonal items like grass seed, x-mas decorations, winter and summer gear too. Really great prices on k-cups mostly brands I've not heard of before, but I've tried them and they're good. It may look messy inside, but it's a no frills store with low prices. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first went here. The black and white newspaper circulars always intrigued me. Was this just another Big Lots style store, and would it be worth the drive to Cary? After reading one of the circulars promoting a NASCAR merchandise buyout, I decided to venture over. Very impressed with the variety of items available. The promoted NASCAR items were plentiful and as advertised. Enjoyed exploring the rest of the store and seeing the types of merchandise available. I made another return trip earlier this week when they were offering official NHL uniform jerseys for a low price. Explored the store some more and did a bit of Christmas shopping. If you have the time to explore and don't have a brand or item specific shopping list, you might find some great prices and great quality items at Ollie's. I found the store to be clean, well stocked, and a more pleasant experience than a store such as Big Lots. read more

I talked with an employee about what I noticed, and I got the distinct impression that I'm not the only one to be displeased with the current condition of the store. This is pretty much the most underrated place I've ever been to. When my family needs to go shopping Ollie's is never a place of interest, but after venturing here a couple of times, I think it needs to be included in the rotation. First of all, they have so many different things you can buy. If there is a common item that you need for everyday use, Ollie's will most likely have it. It is one of the largest stores I've ever been to and so many different things are packed inside. Also, to my knowledge everything has a reduced price. It's like an endless sale! Sort of like Big Lots. Super cheap name brand stuff from closeouts, buybacks etc. Grotty unkempt store but your not going there for ambiance. If Im nearby I like to stop in and look. Every once in a while you will find a gem. Got a nice space heater with all the features and a remote for $20. Christmas time is always good as they usually stock up on toys. LED bulbs are a good deal too. Carpets, patio furniture and otdoor stuff as well. Pots and pans you will have to search through to get one not scratched but it will be worth it. I usually love Ollie's and the cashiers are normally super nice but when I was trying to pay the manager yelled at me about having exact change when there was clearly change in the drawer. I understand there is a change shortage right now but honestly that is no reason to yell at a customer maybe try explaining nicely. This young man had terrible management and service skills and definitely has no business being a manger if he can't even be kind to paying customers and choses to yell over something so simple. I love a bargain. This is not like New York's Cheap Jacks... but it is good for some things. I love their assortment of bound rug remnants and the prices are great. Last trip I also got some really nice quality pillow cases. Perfect place for stocking up a new apartment... It is more or less hit or miss as their inventory changes. Am I the only one who thinks ollie's looks kinda like your great grandma's yard sale? You walk in to promises of "cheap" and "discount" so you think "okay well I really need a new toaster" BAM! THEY HAVE ONE! The only problem is, it's that hideous 80-year-old-woman-pink with sea shells on the side. So, you brush it off and laugh a little and start looking for the next item on your list. "That shower curtain in my bathroom is so out-of-style" Boy, you came to the wrong place! Unless you're looking for a discount on one of those little green toilet carpets that I call 'pee pee mats' this may not be your go-to bargain store. I will say however, that my roommate who moved here from India got a super cheap mattress here. So all you state students can rush on down if you need one of those. read more

Great for bargain hunters! You never know what you might find. It's like Big Lots on steroids, but much cheaper. The prices are excellent, the variety is large, and customer service is excellent. I recently walked out with an electric blanket, Notre Dame fleece throw, HandiWipes, Ace bandages, laundry detergent, gourmet hot sauce, white out, a houseplant pot, a recent bestseller, purple Pop-Tarts, dog chew toys, M&Ms, etc. Lots of rolls of carpet and flooring. If you see something you like, buy several. It may be gone next time. They are, indeed, painfully slow at checkout, but great with returns. It's good to go at off hours when it's less of a circus. I come here often and I like it a lot. Much like Big Lots, etc., Ollie's has name brand items at a fraction of the cost. Anything from food, pots, pans, baby items, books, towels, picture frames, vacuums - you name it! I often buy generic laundry detergent here for $1.99 and some pantry staples. Just be sure to inspect the food and check the expiration dates. I've not had a bad experience here, though it would be nice if they carried toilet paper! There is one cashier who is very sweet and friendly, which always makes the experience more enjoyable. It can get pretty packed on weekday afternoons and the weekends! read more

I would not give this store located on Capital Blvd any stars. I don't know how this store is still in business. There are so many boxes piled up all over the whole store. You can not even shop and go down the isles for all of the boxes.
