Just say "Tuesday Club" to the cashier if you're above the required age... haha! Located at the Ballard Blocks, park for free in the shared covered parking garage and go upstairs from Trader Joe's... how convenient! My niece needed a dish drainer. I needed a blanket. I also found a set of panda lights on clearance! I got a blue Stitch mug - also on clearance. My housewarming gift to my niece was a tiered shower caddy... LOL... I don't want to reach down to the body wash and shampoo on the floor of the shower! This was a fun experience! I caught the escalator down to my car - after walking up the stairs... I think the elevator wasn't working. I juggled my purchases without a shopping bag because I used my bag at Trader Joe's already! read more

Having been so accustomed to the large, ground level, department store version of Ross, this was a reminder that not all locations are ever the same. First off, this Ross is located at the top of the escalator on the second floor of Ballard Blocks. Secondly, in order in to enter, one has to enter a scanner / screened at the door and then be let in by a security person. Thirdly, many common items are locked up and much of the browsing / perusing element gets lost. (#1) I was really hoping for some action from tent city faithful but missed out. The good news is that the store is clean and well organized. The furniture section isn't much to look at, nor is there much for electronics or men's clothing. It's not the biggest location but they've done a decent job keeping it well maintained. The staff was very kind and was very good about explaining and escorting folks to helping them find what they needed. Prices were the run of the mill with not too many deals to be found. It's been years since I've shopped at a Ross, so you can only imagine my surprise when entering I was asked by security to wait outside due to managing store traffic. But yet, there weren't many customers inside. Anyways, it felt like a 30 second wait until I was allowed in. This Ross had a sterile feeling while I browsed around. Nothing really caught my eye, and all of the cosmetics are boxed in security casings. I can only imagine that's for security and sanitary reasons but it drew me away from exploring their selection. I think I spent less than 10 min browsing before deciding to head out. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

I like Ross. Always find good clothing, purses, home and car items of good value however I am not pleased with Ross not being fully honest. This Ross and other Seattle locations now implement a procedure in which they don't allow you to enter until you stand in front of the security camera and officer for 10 seconds. When you ask why that is you are then met with confusing and unclear answers. This location told me it was for customer distancing, head count, and safety, while at another location the security looked me up and down, gave me attitude, and read the sign next to him stating Ross is "metering". I looked this up online curious and confused. Seems they are doing it in other states as well and mainly at locations high in theft. Just wish they were more transparent when I ask and simply state it's about deterring theft. I just found it odd since most of these Seattle locations already have 2 security officers at the front door and it's not even very busy in these stores lol. 75% of this store is empty space, and the remaining 25% is severely limited in selection. Came to grab a pair of jeans for cheap, and they had a total of maybe 4 pairs of men's jeans in the entire store, none of which were in my size. Complete waste of time, they quite literally have next to nothing in the entire store. read more

Similar to most any Ross I've set foot in, this one is no exception to the plethora of things available. Everything from clothing, to bags and shoes, from trinkets to home goods and furnishings, from undergarments and winter gear to who-knows-how-long-they've-been-on-a-shelf bags of non-perishable foods, can be found throughout the store. Nothing is particularly organized at the end of the day, as customers seem to treat the store like their own, personal closets or bedrooms, leaving everything here and there as they make their way through the store. (The poor employees who have to deal with the aftermath.) We were given a hearty and friendly greeting by the security guard at the front door. The three cashiers, though, seemed to prefer ignoring everyone and everything around them. Me, the only one in line, had to wait twenty minutes before the security guard called out, "He'll help you right here!", alerting one person at the register out of his reverie. I shop here periodically cuz it's close to my gym & I always find good deals. The supply/merchandise is restocked to normal (inventory was pretty skinny during the pandemic). I've found ALL staff to be quite friendly, yet maybe that's cuz I'm very friendly & smile & engage them. Easy free parking in the 3rd level of parking garage (where the sky bridge is). read more

I have been waiting FOREVER for this Ross location to open!!! The glorious day finally arrived, and I couldn't be happier. Located on the third floor of the Ballard Blocks, this store is quite spacious with ample parking in a private structure. You can park on the third floor and walk across the bridge to the entrance, or you can park on the first floor and take the elevator or escalator up. It's probably because this is a new store, but they were fully stocked with everything! And believe it or not, it was not a mess! Quite organized, and I even saw some high-end items in there. I'll have to get used to the layout, because it's pretty different than the others. From shoes to bags to trinkets to Starbucks pods, Ross offers it all and at discounted prices! read more

This location has a super weird layout with a section in the middle that must be a support structure for the whole building. It is kind of odd if you're used to making the rounds in a store where you can see everything when you walk in. The selection of clothing here was bare bones and for how few people were in here shopping it felt like store associates kept popping up to check that the few shoppers in the aisles weren't up to anything suspicious. They must have issues with theft as the theft prevention guy in the labeled vest walked around quite a bit, when they usually just hang out by the entrance to make their presence known. Anyway, I needed to get a unisex face mask and heard they had some decent ones here. For $4 they have a few options of masks to choose from, only one color/style combo of which any man would probably wear. I also had some undergarments to exchange that I had purchased from another location. Due to their fitting rooms being closed I didn't take a good look at them and brought them home only to realize not only did I not need them, but they were not of great quality and would not be comfortable. When I brought them out here to exchange the sales associate gave me a nasty look and said I couldn't return the item. Much to my shock I asked why. "Well because nobody returns undergarments," was the response I was given. Um, I've worked retail and unless they tell you at checkout that something is not returnable, pretty much everything you buy can be returned if it is unused with the tags attached and not marked as "final sale." The lady said she would take the item back this time "but next time, no!" It's a good thing I'm not in the habit of purchasing and bringing back undergarments (hence my confusion as to why I wouldn't be able to do so here!) Anyway, after the weird experience here I think I'll avoid this location in the future. The only reason it wasn't a one-star review was there was plenty of parking right by the entrance in the covered garage. Where should I start? The store is very clean. Parking is free and very convenient. I looked at all 12 shirts they had and none were in my size... This place looks like a store that's on its last day of a going out of business sale. I went in once and the people that worked there were spacing out the hangers to make the racks look fuller. Lots of security to make sure you don't steal the 50 things that are in the store. The people that work there are nice, but I don't think people pay money for that? They are probably looking to buy merchandise that is probably not on the shelves. Maybe this is practice for some sort of post apocalyptic shop. You want shoes? We have 2 pair is size 8... This store had a manager Jordann who degraded me as a customer while pregnant. When I set my items down to be rang up he assumed I had a voucher to pay for my purchase. Not knowing what he was speaking of I asked what are you talking about? He informed me he was doing his job and was turning red while yelling at me. So much more but bottom line he racial profiled me and felt it was appropriate to do. Since this happened I wrote corporate to make them aware. He said sorry after he knew I was going to report him. This is truly disgusting behavior. Self employed and I do not need a voucher to make my purchase. Even if I had one his behavior was uncalled for to demean someone who he believe he could kick while they are in need. One of my favorite Ross! It is the cleaniest Ross Ive ever been to. And Ive been to a lot! Its true in other reviews, that the selection is less than what you would normally see BUT! I actually like it. It doesnt overwhelm me when I shop there because I can get right to the point. Plus, it is super clean so it is easy to find things. Love the parking garage. Also a very beautiful entrance. Most of the workers are really nice. The only rude person Ive ever encountered there, is the younger girl who works there at night. I really enjoy coming here, but the selection of items has been dwindling. Many good quality items are often available. However, shipment has been sporadic lately which has been leaving me a little disappointed in the past few weeks. You can park for free on Level 3 of the parking garage to avoid the elevator. The security always politely greets me as I come in. The store itself is very organized, clean and well maintained thus making it easy to navigate. Shopping here is always a pleasant experience because the staff are very approachable and friendly. Even doing a few returns is a breeze due to the helpful and efficient atmosphere. I appreciate that this location takes safety/theft problems seriously so I feel safe shopping. A while back, I saw the security following someone who brought in lots of baggage as he shopped. I assumed the man had been caught stealing before but I'm glad they had their eye on him. That said, this is a great Ross and I love coming here. I hope they get new shipment soon! :) read more

I shop here from time to time because Its right next to the gym and Ross has always had solid deals. The problem is that EVERY time I'm at the checkout, the security guard walks over by the entrances to get a look at me (while trying hard to pretend to be doing something else), presumably to see if I have anything that would be hidden from view of the register. They just assume people who go there are more likely to steal, so they rentacops they hire are annoying and overbearing. They are clearly not even good at their jobs, they're so obvious when they're looking at you and it's clear that Ross hires naive people who couldn't catch a shoplifter if their lives depended on it - they're not qualified physically and they clearly have no experience as thieves because they monitor people the way a non-criminal would. read more

This Ross is more like a TJ Maxx as far as being organized and easy to navigate. They have all of their goods organized by section and size and they also have a petites section. There isn't a lot of merchandise for the space but that isn't really a bad thing. I was able to find 3 pair of black pants that are perfect for me for less than $70 total. These are brands that would be carried at Nordstrom or Macy's. I think I just hit a lucky day but I was very pleased. The employees were friendly, as well. I wish this Ross were closer to home so I could shop there more often - the one nearest to my home is always messy and unkempt. This Ross certainly caters to the Ballard crowd - prime location, tidy, a wonderful selection of goods. The even offer paper bags (no plastic here) for a charge - again, a sign that they are definitely appealing to those who live and shop in Ballard. I've been in a couple of times and have always walked out with SOMETHING. On my most recent visit, their credit/debit machines were down so they could only do cash sales. They said there was an ATM down on the lower level (or so they thought); but, the only option I had was to buy something from Trader Joe's and get cash back during my purchase. It wasn't Ross' fault, but it was annoying - and I did let them know to stop telling shoppers to go to the ATM because there wasn't one. read more

I really like the idea of Ross and similar stores that sell name brand clothing and other items for lower prices and I frequent them pretty often but I really don't like this Ross. The pros: great parking, easy to get to if you're driving down 15th, same prices as other Ross locations. The cons: They seem like they have alot of men's stuff in their store but never anything worth buying. Pros: the store is very organized, clean, and parking is free, easy and plentiful (parking garage). Now here are the cons: This store is extremely lacking in merchandise for the size of the space. A lot of the racks are empty or sparse. I like to get my purses at Ross, but don't get one from here as they probably only have around 15. The downtown and Northgate locations are much, much more plentiful as far as merchandise of all kinds. I only go to the Ballard location because it's close to my home. Second con is the customer service. Absolutely horrible. We were waiting in line and the cashier had started checking out the people in front of us, and all of a sudden disappeared! It wasn't until ten minutes later that finally another employee came and helped them finish their check out and apologized sincerely for the lady that had started and then disappeared. A second woman employee came to help my mom and I check out. I was glad that the employees suddenly appeared out of the woodwork but this particular young lady was probably the most unenthusiastic, monotone cashier I've ever had. There's a reason you never see more than five customers in this store at any given time. I recommend the Northgate location. The downtown location has the longest lines I've ever seen. read more

I've been to a lot of different Ross stores. All can basically be described like this: The barf of clothing/accessories/home goods Hell. A dark and dingy horror of a store with aisles so narrow that Shaggy (the stoner dude from Scooby-Doo) wouldn't even be able to fit through the racks of disorganized clothes (and I suppose he'd have to be a real person. But you get the point, right?). This Ross is soooooooooooooo different. It kinda makes you believe the Ross TV ads. Decent-looking clothes on decent-looking people with shiny, happy faces. It's bright and airy. No clothes or hangers scattered on the floor. Clothes are organized by size. Products in the home goods and access areas are nicely displayed. You probably have to step back outside to verify you're really in a Ross. It's like the Nordies of all Ross stores. Sure, the selection is smaller. But at least you'll be able to easily find what you're looking for. read more

Here we go, so first off I was waiting by the sunglass counter ready to buy some of their most expensive merchandise and believe me I was there for well over 15 minutes waiting for someone to open the case. Finally I lost my patients and went to go find someone myself and when I asked the worker to open the case she responds in not so nice tone "it'll be a minute mam" like are you out of your mind girl I've been waiting for way to many minutes so I dropped the rest of my merchandise on the counter and walked out. 9:00 AM was listed as Sunday opening hour online. I got to the store at 9:10, however they wouldn't let me in stating that the opening time is actually 9:30. I showed them the website and told them I would not have driven to the store so early if the correct information had been listed. Seeing as I was talking with both a clerk and the shift manager that were already present in the store I asked if I could start looking around but would not check out until after 9:30. They insisted that I had to wait outside of the store for 20 minutes for no apparent reason other than 'just because' - customer service seems to be lacking at this store. As you can see by my original review, this Ross WAS awesome. I was so disappointed when I was in this weekend. The grungy feel starts with the garbage can/ash tray located right outside the entrance (?!!) and the mashed cigarette butts laying all over and continues inside the store. We were never greeted or even acknowledged. (Cashiers are located right inside the entrance and they had no customers at the time.) There were no retail employees on the floor. The only employee on the floor was the security guard. Horrible lighting (really dim) just adds to the feeling. Shelves and racks were very bare; horrible selection and what they did have looked like something that would immediately fall apart if you tried to use it or wear it. Clothing, housewares and accessories were all like this. Oddly, the men's t-shirts were the only good part of the store; huge selection, good quality and pricing plus many name brands you'd expect at a Ross. I'll stop in periodically, hoping this location returns to the way it started out. If things don't improve drastically, I'd have to say this Ross is a HUGE waste of good space. read more

They combat it by having a low selection, a high number of cameras, and dressing rooms front and center right by the registers. Additionally, if you are plus sized don't even stop. I came here for a plain white dress shirt. Seems like any clothing store should carry that. But the fitted shirts display was half empty and no white shirts at all in my collar size. Obviously they carry a lot more than shirts but all of the men's items seemed pretty understocked. Not what I would expect for a fairly urban store. read more

Their stock and inventory is so low every single time I go in. It always looks like it is going out of business. I shop here frequently and it is the cleanest Ross I have ever been in. The employees always greet me. Yesterday I scored a Juicy Couture swim cover up for $20. Once I got a wool Michael Kors coat on clearance. I always check here first for bedding, kitchen supplies and licensed tees for my kids. I also frequently buy novelty socks as gifts for teens. Inventory varies and is sometimes low, but it is tidy and organized and there is never stuff on the floors. read more

I have never been to such a disrespectful Ross in my life the manager (Nick) came over and told me and my husband to leave bc I opened two comforters that I WAS BUYING I wanted to feel them even if I didn't like the feeling I was still buying those two comforters. He (Nick the manager this night) didn't like that I opened a little tiny area and said we don't do those things here. I explained but I'm buying these two comforters sets so why does it matter if I opened it a little they will be mine in 10 mins. he didn't want to hear it and said leave now get out of my store we don't do those type of things here.So Ross is this how you treat your customers!! I have never in my life been kicked out of a store I was so embarrassed then he followed me out of the store I was not being rude I stood up and left very quietly.
