This Ross is a madhouse - aren't they all these days? It's just a few steps across a small street and into another parking lot away from the very nice TJ Maxx. So you go from relative calm to total chaos. I did find that this Ross had a better selection of wall art than the nearby TJ Maxx did. Ross in Silverdale has a pretty good selection of items. I like they have specific stuff for all the holidays through the year. No returns on electronics, even with receipt. It really hurts on low income trying to make a "sound" investment. Bought a big Bluetooth party speaker there. The power connector inside the device wasn't soldered to the board, so you have to wiggle it for about 20 minutes until the charge light comes on. The speaker was depicted in the picture on the box. It showed some cone tweeters. When unboxing, I was flabbergasted that the tweeters we're FAKE SCULPTURES ON THE CASE!!!! The rare time you can get it to charge and play, the sound is ATROCIOUS! There musn't be any baffles inside, as it sounds like it's shaped. It sounds like a speaker in a plastic container that's a fraction of it's size. I've been trying to use it for a month now, and it has brought me nothing but frustration. The next time I cross the bridge, I'm tossing the thing it over the edge. read more

Bathrooms are unavailable for shoppers. Very unfortunate. Imagine elderly people shopping or kids.

I have only been to the silverdale location one time, but I had a wonderful shopping experience there. The employees were friendly and efficient, and the selection of clothes and shoes were great. I found a pair of Ugg boots that are normally almost $200 anywhere else for only $80! Snatched those up with a quickness! Lol. I highly recommend giving this place a try, despite their ratings on Yelp. I will definitely be shopping there from now on. read more

Currently at closing there seems a new closing 'manager' setting the pace. Very rude, very intense from about 20 mins before closing, then once there is 10 mins to go she appeared and just stood there waiting for me to follow her to front desk as I was trying to find the right jacket size to buy for a next morning event. In the end I left the jacket and could not wear the outfit the next day. I mentioned at counter how things are different now chasing customers out.. the 'manager' standing close by said "well we like to go home at night" I wasn't even talking to her. Go figure.... Professional power trippers are exhausting .. especially in retail, especially condescending 20-25 year old on professional power trip... maybe she'll gain some 'customers is always right ' etiquette when she realizes the customers at the store plummet. Hmm...how to describe this store... In a word? Ghetto. In two words? Super ghetto. The store is an absolute mess, and I would think that if their employees were getting paid an hourly wage, they'd at least TRY to make the store look presentable and organized. The clothes are all over the place, falling off the hangers, and there really is no rhyme or reason to any of it. The shelves are cluttered and unorganized and it just makes for a really poor shopping experience. The fitting rooms are dingy and don't even have doors. They have nasty blue curtains (some of which don't even cover the entire opening, and some of which are hung improperly and falling down), and the floors are dirty and covered in a fine layer of god-knows-how-long-that's-been-there dust. In Connecticut, we don't have Ross, and judging by the outside I figured it was the West coast version of TJ Maxx. Yeeeaaahhh, Ross is basically the super ghetto version of TJ Maxx. And even the TJ Maxx in this area (as opposed to the ones in Connecticut) are ghetto in and of themselves. "How ghetto is it", do you ask? While shopping there, the cashier comes across the intercom and says, "Attention Ross customers: We have another dollar donated toward raising awareness for heart disease! Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP?" To which the entire store, employees and customers alike, responded: "WHOOP WHOOP!!" Never again. Ever. read more

Was at Ross because I was in Seattle and had gone with a horrible dufflebag. And pending other trips, I needed to get something with wheels that was smaller than the other suitcase I had. You know, you need different sizes for different occasions; it's just like different parties will definitely warrant different types of outfits. Walked out of here with nothing, because a vast range of it was the same. I get it that it is discount shopping, but the luggage section didn't carry much variety - most that was left was the same brand, one that I can't remember. However, saw a fierce DVF (does Ms. Von Furstenberg know her shit is going down at Ross?) suitcase and some good Harajuku Lovers in the handbag session. If they had a Harajaku Lovers dufflebag - that would have been a guaranteed sale for me. read more

I'm honestly surprised that this store is still in business. Much of the floor snd shelf space is unused and that says something as a discount store. There was zero luggage. The entire store was just very picked over and not worth a stop. I did however browse as I was already in the store. Found a lole and Nike sweater that I wanted to try on. OMG! The dressing rooms were disgusting. I'm talking I've seen truck stop restrooms that were more sanitary! Aside from all of the above, there is what I assume an anti theft, security guard of sorts that solely walks back and forth in front of the door area. My experience with this Ross is a love/hate one. Sometimes I pop in here and find so many treasures, I fill an entire shopping cart. I have area rugs, lamps, candles, designer clothes and shoes from here. Then the next time I swing by, nothing, nada, zip works for me. So when it is good, it is great and when their shelves are bare, it is just sad. Please stock more often and keep the deals coming!!! read more

One of the best Ross stores I have been to in my life. Clean and organized. Hit or miss. Very good prices.

My wife and I don't shop for clothing or other items very often. But when she was in need of some new luggage and a couple gowns for a gala and some other fancy parties for a trip to Miami she was taking last month we decided to try Ross. My wife was able to find a couple of lovely gowns that fit her well for a very good price. As a matter of fact she found the same gown later at a name brand store for $120 more than she paid at Ross. For this and the price we got on the luggage Ross gets three stars. Where they lost stars was by selling us as a luggage set that consisted of a checked bag and a carry-on. The carry-on bag no longer fits current airline requirements, which of course my wife didn't find out until she was boarding the aircraft and one of the flight attendants pulled her aside to inform her the brand new carry-on she just purchased was too big and she would have to check it. Since it was an additional checked bag it cost us an additional $40 each way. Essentially adding $80 to the cost of the luggage she had just purchased. When she returned from her trip we attempted to return the luggage, only the luggage. She wore the dresses once and will likely never wear them again but that's what happens when you go to fancy parties and why she purchased them at Ross instead of somewhere else. We were greeted by a friendly enough customer service rep who said well it looks like you used to the luggage. We were still within our 30 days to return the product, I informed her of the situation and said of course the luggage was used. There was no way for us to know the luggage they sold us met the standard for airlines like four years ago and not today until we tried to use it. I went on to explain to her if it met current airline standards we wouldn't be returning it, my wife likes it, but it doesn't so we want a refund. She called over an assistant manager who proceeded to stand there and argue with me for 15 minutes about it explaining that because it was used we couldn't return it and the best she could do would be give us a store credit. No offense but we don't shop at Ross often enough to need a $200 store credit for anything. We left with our luggage and our receipt. Needless to say this will be the last time we ever shop at that store again. When you don't support the products you sell nor take into consideration things that the customer has no control over you lose my business. I wasn't trying to be unreasonable I was trying to be fair, apparently they don't believe in the same thing or give a crap about their customers. All they care about is the bottom line. Found a really cool Calvin Klein coat that fit me perfectly, a couple of shirts, kitchen towels, Yankee Candle scented candles, drapes and curtain hardware. There was so much to see and take in! Extremely rude cashier, no training evident. I walked in with my daughter around 1 pm today to return a Samsonite suitcase which was a little too tall for a carry on bag. I saw two lanes - one labeled "Purchases Only" and the other sign was "Returns and Exchanges" so I promptly went to the correct lane. I was the only one there and the other lane had quite a few customers. There were three cashiers working. The cashier directly in front of me (there is no register to my left as I faced her) called for the next in line and I approached her. She said that she is helping others from the other line. I told her I am returning something and the other lane says purchases only. I politely asked if they are not using the lane the was marked returns and exchanges, and should I move to the other lane? She huffed and said, that's ok, I'll help you. I gave her the receipt and my credit card. She grabbed the receipt and abruptly pushed my credit card away from her towards me. I thought they must use a system where they do not need the cc for returns. At this point it was obvious that she was having PMS or something. She asked if there was anything wrong with the item. I said it was too tall for what I need it for. She raised her voice without any explanation and asked again "Is there anything wrong with the item? Wow, this was not just rude, her tone was very disrespectful, discriminatory and unnecessarily mean. My daughter answered her "There is nothing wrong with the item." She then asked for my credit card and I said, I gave it to you earlier but you pushed it away and gave it back. She said "I did not need it then." HEY, pull this cashier off the floor please! Re-train her or counsel her to get her out her current misery, she should not be dealing with customers with this attitude. We were planning on purchasing a replacement suitcase but needless to say, Ross did not deserve our business. read more

Well like the next person I'm always up for a great deal, but seriously this place really needs to be cleaned up. The racks that the clothes are on are bent and look like they are going to fall over and the lines to check out are way too long. For people who like to dig through piles of clothes and pick them up off of the ground to look at them, this might be your place. But for me, this is just too much to take it. I only go there if I'm really bored with other stores or if a friend drags me in. It just seems like they could do a little bit more to make the shopping experience better. read more

It's a complete mess here, but come on. Your here for the deals and yes this place has a ton of them. I find myself buying a lot of my cloths here because the deals are so good. Plain cloths like dress shirts and jeans can be found for really good prices here. But like the other reviews here they loose a lot for the un-helpful loss prevention people who seem to do all of nothing while the lines back up. It's annoying. But for good deals it's worth it every once in a while. read more

Sometimes its more comical like an employee is clearly just a super snarky person or whatever but more times than not they treat you like you like you are their worst enemy. I personally love this type of stores, great bargains even at the cost of looking for it. This has some great stuff to what the heck is this stuff to whoa that is a unique stuff to whoa that is cheap looking. So if you are looking for a great deals on clothes last minute this place is it. I'm really frustrated with Ross customer service. They offered me 20% off a pair of shorts that was missing its buttons to button them shut. Two of the three where missing. I said 40% sounds more reasonable because I'd have to go get matching buttons that Where also very large. The manager said no. And just took the shorts out of my pile of things I was going to purchase. I was still going to buy them because they fit me so well. I asked if he could please check to see if they had more. He rudely said no we can't do that. I'm just really frustrated with how rude the manager was being. I was being nice the entire time. I don't recommend Ross if you expect quality customer service. I would have been more inclined to be okay with 20% off if he would have gave me a reason why he couldn't do the 40% off. I mean really these buttons missing on the shorts where so large that I'm probally not even going to be able to find ones that match. I'm going to end up having to buy 3 new ones that are all big enough to fit short holes. I shouldn't have purchased anything after how rude the manager was about the situation. I was not being a pushy or demanding more % off eitheR.' I only made the comment that 20% was low and 40% sounded more reasonable. I just really loved those shorts and how they actually fit my body. Anyway Ross don't keep damaged items on your racks and than offer customers 20% off something that's going to cost 10 + dollars to fix. read more
