I broke my ten year Kohl's hiatus, enticed by the promise of home shopping convenience and a hefty $25 in Kohl's cash earned from my online order. I should have known it would initiate a comedy of errors that would make me relearn the forgotten decade-old lesson. One item from my online order didn't fit, so I decided to return it at the nearest store, which is in another county. I prepared myself for the trek by making a shopping list of jeans to try on, confirming on their website that all were in stock at the store (jeans are something you really need to try on, buying them blindly is a gamble). All plans were thwarted when I entered the Silverdale store. It would be my last visit to any Kohl's; read on. The return went fine, other than their deducting $8 from the refund of the $35 item. I understood it was because I received Kohl's cash to spend, and that's fine. So let's go shopping! I was unable to locate any of the items on my shopping list. Since I neglected to pack snacks and a compass, I asked for help. The lady from the register made an effort to look around, but said she didn't recognize any of the items, and they never stocked them. Bait & switch, eh? Strike one, Kohl's. Determined to make the journey count, I searched for some jeans to try on. Leafing through a bizarre size distribution of XS to XL with squat in between, I found 3 whole pair that might remotely fit. But rut-roh, the fitting room was closed! After the predictable goose chase, I came in contact with Keeper of the Fitting Room, and kindly asked if I could enter her barricaded domain to try my 3 items. She said no. Really, no? I don't want to make another trip out here. She insisted, no, she was busy. Final word. Too busy with only one other customer in the store? How do they stay in business anyway? Strike two, Kohl's. Not wanting to waste time fighting it, but not wanting to waste time coming back out either, I summoned my inner bluejean rebel and tried on those jeans right there on the ghost down they call a sales floor. Turns out nothing fit right anyway, so I saved myself another two hour round trip. Fed up with the store, I went home to find something random online so I wouldn't lose my $25 Kohl's cash. Logging in, I found a cruel surprise - $12 Kohl's cash had vanished, along with my patience. In a last ditch effort, I found a $12 clearance tank top to spend my remaining consolation prize and be done with it. Then the free shipping coupon errored out, "try again later." Not in the mood to spend $8 shipping on sheer principal of getting my money's worth of random crap I don't need, I tapped out, down my original $25 coupon + $8 shorted on the refund. Yeah, I know, the house always wins. Strike three and Kohl's is out. It's no wonder the store was deserted. Limited selection, employees on permanent coffee break and pitfall policies. Silverdale Kohl's would better serve the community as a big, stupid, empty monument to apathy, which it probably will be before long. Buh-bye. read more

This isn't the first Kohl's I've been to but definitely the creepiest one I've ever experienced. There was a lady stocking my son and I the entire time. We entered in from the mall side and did a super quick loop as I kept looking back at her to let her know I noticed what she is doing. I never let his hand go. I somehow got lost as I was trying to get her off my tracks and asked a worker how to get back to the mall side which she was super helpful. Sadly I didn't get anything as I was really looking forward to specifically shopping here. Unsure if she was a floor walker or a kidnapper but I did not feel safe at all. We bounced so quick out of there. Way to scare away a potential customer if you were an obvious floor walker! read more

In the age where everyone is doing their shopping online this store will make you want to revist the onsite department store shopping expiernce. The Store Manager Stormy has hired an excellent staff and she herself is doing a great job. I recently had a return and the item was not avaiable in the store and this particular item was needed asap. The Store manager Stormy was looped in and did find the item at another store 60 miles away. She actually volunteered her time and the money for gas drove to the other store and got it for me!! This is an average Kohl's, but the few times we have been in I am so caught off guard by their pricing structure and subsequent discounts. They definitely inflate their prices to trick consumers into thinking they are getting a discount or deal, but the quality of their products do not justify the "regular price tags." They usually have plenty of inventory, and we have been pleased with the things we have purchased, but I usually find coupons so that we get better discounts than the in-store discounts. I don't think that shopping at Kohl's is an inherently better shopping decision than other chains in Silverdale unless you have their card and get their coupons and utilize all options. Unless you're inundated with Kohl's brand everything, I just don't see how other consumers think it is a suitable alternative to Target, etc. read more

Mom and I went to the Silverdale mall right before she dropped me off to go home at the Bainbridge ferry. I decided to look into Kohls to see what they had since I've hear some good things about them. I walked into the teenage section and it blew me away. I saw: cute dresses, cute tops, cute jewelry, all at really low prices. The clearance rack was even better! I bought a tube top for about $7, and the lady offered for me to sign up for a card so I could get my top and socks for free! I mean, who doesn't want free socks?? Anyway, I wish that I had lived closer, I have a feeling that the one in Southcenter won't be as great, but then again I haven't gone there yet... read more

I was just at Kohls in Silverdale. There were 2 customers not wearing masks. I spoke to the cashiers about it and Kohls policy if they say its medical then let them in. I wear a mask everyday and I have COPD. To bad Kohls doesn't have the backbone to take care of their employees and other customes. Very disappointed in Kohl's based on my experience yesterday. An item I desired was elevated on a rack far over my head, but was reached by the use of a long-handled pole with a hook. Finding my size took time as I had to pull down and replace each hanger, but I succeeded. As the placard on the rack end trumpeted "30% off" in large print, I was motivated. Imagine my disgust when the cashier said, "Oh, that discount is only if you open a Kohl's charge." It would have required binoculars to read that fine print on the placard. Affordable clothes that don't last. Cheapo belts that crack and tear. I think this might be a great place to get clothes for kids that are growing fast and need all their clothes replaced quickly anyway. I bought a hover board for my son for Christmas. On Christmas morning he opened it up and the hover board on the box was not what was in the box. It was a different cheaper model with none of the extras we paid for. The manager at the store treated my husband like a criminal. They took his receipt and left for twenty minutes , upon return they announced that they reviewed the tape and he didn't steal it but all they could do was return the money they could not replace the item. They said he would have to pay the online full price to get the item which was $200 more than the sale price. My son was upset at not getting his Christmas gift and the associate told him to "suck it up" read more

Average Kohls. I went here because of the lingerie sale. When I got to the lingerie department, no associates could be found. They were in the "huddle". Finally, after 10 minutes or so, someone appeared but she was not much help. She kept pulling out bras that were 36C and I wear a 42DD (yes I told her several times ). read more

I recently discovered this place and I like it. There use to be a Bon Marche here in Washington State, but they got bought out by Macy's, and Macy's is not a good as Bon Marche. Kohl's is pretty close. Kohl's is like Macy's, but the cloths are better. I like the fashions better. I like the fabric of the material that make up the cloths better. I love the sales they have. I like that I can buy Wii games there. I got the credit card and that card gives me additional savings. Yes, I am a fan. read more

I agree with Hannah their pricing is weird . I went for a Cuisinart food processor an pot/pan set. At most the Cuisinart would be $150 and the pot set $69 . The two combined before any discount was $374 and the only way to get both items for under $200 was to sign up for a credit card which gave a discount and then extra coupons . Walked out about paying about $190.??? I guess if you like playing with coupons etc Kohl's is the place . Next time I will just go to Fred Meyer or Walmart. Kohl's is a great place to get good deals and they sell quality brands. Lauren Conrad, Bobby Flay, Vera Wang, Farberware and Food Network are my favorites. The store is easy to navigate and for the most part the employees are friendly, efficient, and competent. Also I love that there are usually coupons readily available and sales going on. However, the reason I gave this store only three stars out of five is because the baby/toddler and toys/books section always seems to be forgotten about; a complete mess! I've gone to the store on numerous occasions and at different times of the day and every-time these areas are a disaster area. Toys on the ground and definitely not organized on the shelves and the clothes just seem to be thrown about; some folded or hung others just in the section without care. I want to shop in these areas but not when they look like a tornado has swept through. I would love to give this store a five star but I can't get passed the headache from these two sections. read more
