Located in the Azlea Square shopping center, Ross is in a safe area of town with an easily accessible entrance and exit; although not the best designed. What I really like about the place, besides low prices are that the people that work there are extremely nice. Not only are they pleasant, but they're more than willing to help you find anything you need. In fact, I had a lady basically drop what she was doing to show me to the belts. Come on, that's customer service!!! That said, the back isles were extremely cramped, products all over the place and lots of bare space. Ross seems to have a lot of resale items, which I'm not sure if that's accurate but that's the vibe I got. What I do like is I found most of what I needed discounted to some level or another. While I'm not a fan of the toy section having items just thrown on the shelves I didn't mind as I enjoyed the hunt. Anyways, I was able to locate a couple toys for my youngest girl. Also considering the diversity of products they have, I was able to get some nicely priced art supplies such as canvases, paint brushes and acrylic paints. Next my oldest is getting close to being on her own so I bought her some cooking supplies. In fact I got her a Cuisinart pot and lid that I currently use at a price that's cheaper than I found at other places! Not only that I got her an 8" chef knife for a cheap price which will serve her well in all her cutting needs as the most versatile knife a cook can have in their kitchen. I debated buying some clothes too however I learned a long time ago getting clothes for a 17 & 14 yr old girls without their input isn't smart therefore I let them do that shopping on their own. As for me personally, I was on the hunt for belts. Of the top I'll admit clothing is EXTREMELY subjective which means I didn't find a brown belt to my liking. Moreover, there selection of clothing wasn't to my taste either. But at least they have a decent selection. Ross is a great place to shop for a plethora of items for relatively cheap all under one roof. Most of the items aren't things a customer would find at say Dollar Tree but things that are of higher quality. I highly recommend dropping by if there's something you need and you want to save a buck or two. Also being able to shop in a clean and secure place with a friendly staff can't be overstated. Worst experience I've had in a while and I don't write reviews but went In there to shop and I had to use the restroom. I go to the back and I was waiting for an associate to help me but she was helping a customer so I was waiting for her to finish. And the customer said," I think he has to use the bathroom go ahead." The associate said," I don't care I'm talking to an associate." I said thank you after and she just ignored me. read more

Always nice finds at Ross! I recently visited Ross for some quick Christmas decorations and as usual they did not disappoint. Going in I knew they added a lot of merchandise so I was ready to hunt! The employees and security were nice and helpful. However I was amazed at how quickly folks trash this store. workers are stocking, arranging and tagging items in this store, however as soon as they're done the same area is trashed. They have self checkout, but once you make it through that line, you have to get into another line so they can look at your receipt and remove the security tags. This means that there is no point in self checkout. read more

This Ross location seriously needs better management and stricter professional standards. The manager with the twist dreads and mole on her mouth is extremely rude and unprofessional. Every time I visit, she stares at customers like they're a problem and is constantly gossiping with others instead of doing her job. That kind of behavior is unacceptable in a retail setting. If you're receiving a discount to work here, I suggest using it wisely--because showing up just to talk about people and not help customers isn't it. The store feels disorganized not just physically but in the way it's run. Let's also talk about the dress code--does one even exist? Every employee looks like they threw on whatever was closest and rushed in. It's time for this store to enforce a clear, clean, and consistent uniform policy. I shop here all the time and never had problems until tonight. I used the express check out and was told " You cannot pay here. The limit is 8" . She watched me scan each item and when I was about done, that is when she told me that I can only scan 8. She called the manager and I was told to pay for the items I already scanned or go back to the end of the line on the other cashier. I can go to the other cashier if only I was told earlier that the limit is 8. What I did is just paid for the 8 items I already scanned and heard the manager say to the other person "You know how they are" . WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH "THEY"? I am not the person to escalate things but I RECOMMEND NOT TO SHOP HERE. Disgusting attitude and worst customer service. This could've been prevented if I was told even half way nicely that I cannot scan the rest of my items there. read more

At checkout, I had an item that didn't have a price tag. Cashier told me she can give it to me for the same price as another jeans she had already rung up. I was sent to the back to find another pair and still the same thing. The pants came from Walmart. I don't mind paying but at least look it up to ensure I'm not overpaying. She got an attitude and started talking rude to me. The manager was on the next register and not said a word. I didn't purchase anything. They treat customers any type of way. if they hate their job find one where they don't have to deal with the public!!! This place was so much better with the old crew. They hire just anyone I guess. I just seems like things are thrown on the shelves with no regard to presentation or neatness. The one positive is the dress selection--they have a nice variety. Everything else needs work. Years ago I worked at Ross for over 2 years. During that time, with twice the amount of inventory, I have seen a messy store. With that being said, my shopping experience yesterday was enough to urge me to write this comment. The store was a complete mess. Pajamas and tops hanging with the dresses. Full priced items hanging in the clearanced racks. Clothing on the shelves with the cookware. Clothing on floor. Checkout line had 19 people in line. I left the store without purchasing any item. Other shoppers were talking about how bad the store looks. Shameful it's in such bad condition. A well run store would be a goldmine in that location. read more

You can't really hate on Ross too much. For what it is, it is not bad. It is a discounted item store. They don't have the highest end products or amazing quality items. But for their cheap prices, it is an okay place to shop. I really enjoy their selection of wall decor and frames, as well as dresses if you need something in a pinch. They stay busy and it's not the cleanest place in the world, but overall it isn't bad. read more

Today 11/21/20 I shopped at the Summerville store and the cashier that ringed me up was not pleasant at all. I purchased $300 worth of merchandise and once I got home, I realized that she double scanned some of my items. I was highly aggravated about this. Ross Dress for Less in Summerville has a big selection of quality clothing and home goods at great prices that allow you to get almost twice as many items for the same price at some other department stores. I really like the shirts that are wrapped up in plastic containers and the tie and belt section as I seem to go through those much quicker than other items of clothing. The gift and home goods section is also a great place to buy items for others at a pretty good discount as there can be some real finds there. This location is always getting new items in so it is fun to go through everything to find the right item that is perfect. This store is clean and very well run and the checkout line is very efficient which can be a problem in similar stores. read more

This is definitely not my kind of place to shop. This store is huge, dingy, and unappealing. I was with a friend who is an excellent bargain shopper and she didn't even buy anything here. I am just too impatient to sift through racks and racks of clothes with no idea what will be on the next hanger. And besides clothes there were a few rows of just stuff. I looked down one aisle and there was candy. So random in the middle of this huge place to have half a shelf with bags of chocolate. Needless to say I'll be leaving the dress for less options at Ross for the next shopper. read more

Really wish I could enjoy the Ross in my town but this place is so disorganized that you cannot walk down most of the aisles. They've got to be losing so much money because people can't get down the aisles to look at the merchandise. The employees walk by the aisles and look at them and continue to walk away leaving huge messes everywhere. The store always looks like this, it's not a one time deal. We ended up just walking out after hearing the check out girls screaming NEXT in the middle of their current customers transactions with frowns on their faces like they're trying to heard cattle. this is probably no fault of their own but it is SLOW AND MESSY! 2 registers open when there is 40 people in line and stuff is thrown everywhere! you can find underwear stuck in a candle or a wreath hanging on the sweater rack. This store was a mess. Today was the first time I've ever walked in, and it will definitely be the last. There were things on the floor from the second you walk in. The aisles all have clothes tangled within each other, empty hangers, almost lacking inventory I'd say. Nothing was organized when I'd pick it up. Rarely ever come to this store cause I already know what to expect as far as Customer Service goes. But nonetheless, Ross has really great stuff for less and I decided to give it a go. First thing, obviously the lack of cashiers...only one at the customer returns register (which is not fair for the employee if they get a rush). Secondly, they have an army of employees on the floor...for no reason really, everything seemed pretty stocked. One of them almost hits me with her merch cart, and just giggles and says Oops. Now you know she's an older lady, I don't care it's fine... she clearly didn't see me. But then as I go to pay my things, I purchased heavy frames/paintings, I'm told I cannot take the shopping cart out to the parking lot that I would have to bring my car up. Okay? Fine I thought. That's no problem. I do so and I'm clearly having difficulties trying to carry everything out the door...and do you think any of the employees even bothered to lend a hand? Nope. Actually a customer held the door open for me, which honestly bothered me a little because even if I had said no thanks I got it? An offer would have been the right thing...I don't blame the cashier up front I blame whoever the manager is for not having more than one person at the register and not training them to assist the customer over stocking merchandise. The person didn't know what I was talking about put me on hold for less than a minute and pretended she went to go look. I generally like coming in here to find the next deal... Blame my mother for giving me that gene...and deals they do have! However, they have continuously long lines and only 2 cashiers available to handle the customers. Honestly, if I wasn't needing this outfit, I would be putting it back and huffing out of here. In looking around, there are 15 people waiting for the two cashiers. Unacceptable. Addendum: The cashier did not offer any acknowledgement of remorse for the long wait when I finally got to the register. Serious fail in customer service.
