After five months, we had no discernible work product or court motions initiated. Even after many months, they were not sufficiently familiar with our cases despite numerous conversations and providing well organized documentation. They seem to be honest and only billed 1-3 hours per week though. But if you need aggressive, proactive, and creative attorneys...go elsewhere!!! We recently retained another DC based law firm at nearly twice their hourly rate. Hopefully they'll advance our cases. And despite the accolades for the firm's lawyer "Jonathan" here, I literally don't think he said more than a dozen words on roughly 5-6 conference calls. He also never queried us via email nor did he draft any motions or letters. We still don't know what he did.

I notified him upfront that it was an employment law claim against H.C. Not many people have the courage to take on the government (there are other reasons as well) He assured me that I he has gone against HC many times and has won. So had no issues with them. Before the consultation, I made it very clear that if he has no interest in filing against the government then I don't need to schedule an appointment and pay him $500 for a case he wasn't going to take anyway. He said all the right things. Sent some follow up questions, which I answered in great detail. I provided better evidence than 90% of the cases he takes (according to his own words) then ghosted. Yes, we had not signed a contract yet. However his demeanor made it seem like he would. All and all, I believe he was untruthful about having any intention on going up against H.C. Through my public records search, I found NOTHING to show he ever represented a client and won against Harris County. Which leads me to believe he lied to me in order to secure the consultation fee and provided nothing of tangible value. He did call me after I became displeased and said "Okay. Give me $15K right now and I will file the lawsuit". Knowing full well that I'm a disabled veteran who is dying from serious medical condition caused by the military. If I could give any advice, if he is so sure that he has won against X, Y, and Z company then request proof of his cases. It's a real shame that he puts on this front, in effort to collect a quick buck, then ignore you. I explain the circumstances to a mutual friend and he was shocked. And friend said that he did this to another referral (according to the friend he referred. Something about a local Department but didn't know the specifics) The guy has a great personality. I really liked him at first. But man, what a disappointment. He basically slammed the entire BJJ/MMA community in the face (because it was alleged he did it to someone else who also competes)
