We waited an hour and a half for our meals. We had to go someplace and our meals still weren't ready. So we asked for our bill and we didn't have time to wait. Take out orders and customers before us were in and out. Our meals came with salads and Karen the manager said we needed to pay $16.00 for our salads that we ate because we didn't get our meals. The service was great; there were two waitresses that seemed to be assigned to us, and we wanted for nothing. The Chicken Jacquelyn was very tasty; the chicken was moist and the sauce was yummy. The side of pasta was enormous, however, it was bordering on being mushy and way too salty (I didn't even bring the leftover Home which was enough for another meal.) very very slow service. Got takeout and went there when it was suppose to be ready(multiple time occurrence too) and i stood there for a half hour more because they either didn't put the order in or forgot food. We called and kindly told them about it and they didn't offer any help at all. I also stood at the bar waiting to tell someone my name for the take out and the whole staff just ignored me for 10 minutes. Also they do not follow COVID regulations. Amazing food! The penne ala vodka is to die for! This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. It is traditional Italian in that you expect many courses and to be there for a while. My wife and i were at the restaurant on saterday night we were seated very promptly the restaurant was extremely busy we had placed our order and i had decided to run out for a smoke while waiting for our dinners when i stepped out side it was raining pritty hard the concrete platform was extremely slick and i took a bad fall .i did get hurt pretty badly and i was soken wet due to my injuries i felt sick to my stomic so i really could not eat my dinner i asked my waitress to pack up my dinner and i told her about this incident she told me should would let managment know .the owner and management walked past me never asked me if i was ok or even did a indecent report i was very upset and extremely disappointed in there handling of there patrons being hurt on there property and or so thay can take corrective action so this never happens to any one else read more

Archbald is the twilight zone and I don't often find myself having occasion to visit. When I did, I made a point to check out Rossi's as I've heard nothing but raves about it for years. I have to say that I totally agree with Kevin B's review. After a fire some years ago, Rossi's rebuilt from scratch. While I don't remember the old place (it was probably nondescript like the rest of the upper valley), the new place seems like a poorly conceived mess. They were going for "Italian villa" and certainly succeeded in improving the streetscape, but functionally it's just bizarre. - The sole entrance is accessible only by a long wheelchair ramp. This should immediately tell you something about their clientele. When you finally reach the top of the ramp, you find yourself on a portico with big stone columns and an elaborate balustrade ... and no roof. I can't imagine funneling a banquet party of 100 geriatrics up or down the wheelchair ramp in the rain would be much fun. - There are three sets of doors; it's your guess as to which one is unlocked. These doors lead you into a really strange residential-looking entrance foyer. They tried to say "welcome to our home," but it comes across as generic nursing home or hotel. - The actual dining room is located to the left: a two-story echo chamber with faux cracks/brick painted on the plaster amongst hideous custom drapery, Juliet balconies and lots of silk plants. The small bar has a faux roof with actual shingles. Above it, a large opening allows guests to gaze downward from what I can only assume is a banquet room. If you couldn't tell, I think this place is really, really tacky. It's like a "fancy" Florida strip mall. In any case, the star of the show here is supposedly the food. I find it laughable that this old-school Italian restaurant has potato pancakes, fajita rolls and coconut shrimp on the menu. Nothing says frozen like a multicultural appetizer selection in a town of 7,000. Upon sitting down, I ordered a Yuengling lager, one of just two or three options available on tap. It arrived while I was perusing the menu and I didn't touch it for a few minutes. The server (who was a really nice older gentleman) came over and asked if I had tried the lager. I thought this was a really strange question because Yuengling lager is served at virtually every eating or drinking establishment in the coal region. I said, "no, is something wrong with it?" (paraphrasing) "Well, maybe. The bartender kicked the keg with your glass and figured it might be off." Yikes! I took a sip and it was, indeed, flat and old tasting. A fresh glass was promptly served. If the bartender thought something was wrong with it, why was it served to me? Intending to get a wide variety of flavor, I ordered their "Taste of Italy" which, for about $17 (I don't remember exactly), includes cappelletti soup, garlic bread, salad, tripe, gnocchi and cavatelli with broccoli. Yes, tripe. I'd never had it, and it was bundled into this meal, so I figured I'd give it a try. Jumping ahead... that turned out to be a huge mistake. I had one piece. My description of its flavor is quite colorful, so let's just say I thought it was absolutely vile. It made it onto my "foods I hate" list, joining olives, capers and jellyfish. This of course isn't their fault, but I can't understand how anybody could enjoy this particular "food." The gnocchi were big, bland and mushy - almost waterlogged. Easily the worst gnocchi I've ever had. Everything else was okay, including the entirely uninteresting tomato sauce. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the portion sizes are way too large. Why would anyone want an abundance of bland food? It's not a good value if the food isn't appealing. When I asked which desserts are made in house, the reply was ... none of them! The little cardboard table tent (like you might see at, say, Applebee's) promoting a limoncello flute should have been a dead giveaway. I found this shocking. The waiter assured me that they sourced them from a quality place somewhere in the vicinity, but I found it odd that such a highly revered place would not have at least some basic classic Italian desserts made in house (tiramisu, cannoli, gelato, budino). I can't even remember what I chose - it was, like the rest of the meal, okay. This place is either coasting on its reputation or catering to the elderly crowd. Bland food, tacky dining room, frustrating entrance (really, was it that hard to incorporate a couple steps into your design?)... I just can't think of any reason to return, and honestly don't understand the raves. read more

I have Bittersweet feelings over Rossi's. For years I thought it was the best Italian restaurant around but as I grew older I realized just because they give you a "huge" portion it doesn't mean they are the best. Food selection is okay. Your first 5 times there you have many choices but over the years you realized the selection never changes and the choices are not that special. The menu items such as the pastas are very tasty. I have to say my favorite part at Rossi's is the salad dressing. This is my favorite house dressing around! Ever since they have rebuilt post the fire. The atmosphere is awful! Very high ceiling which makes it extremely noisy. There is no privacy at all. It's just a square room with tables side by side. The whole cozy restaurant is missing. I can only rate this place as average anymore.... read more

Amazing food. If you think the Olive Garden is the best Italian food then you simply do not know Italian food. Angel hair pasta in sun dried tomato sauce is to die for. When my bowl came there had to be about 5 pounds of pasta. So nice inside and quiet. The staff is extremely friendly. Definitely recommend to people. read more

Tonight was my first time at Rossi's even though I grew up here and always heard great things about your restaurant. The entire experience was incredible. The cappelletti soup was great, the salad and dressing were flavorful and the taste of Italy (penne with vodka, chicken parm and cheese ravioli) was downright epic. Not only was the food out of this world, our waitress, Cherilyn, was very friendly, funny, attentive and willing to make our experience much better than it already was. Quite honestly my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere. That includes NYC, Philly, and Pittsburgh. The portions are enormous and their homemade "red sauce" is the best tomato sauce I've ever had other than my grandmas. Try the veal Marsala or chicken Jacqueline they're amazing. Ambience is nice and comfortable and staff is always very friendly. They also have two private rooms for parties. You will definitely get your money's worth here. Great dessert tray too! read more

Rossi's has been a staple in the local community for years. Their portions are more than you can ask for: When you dine-in you get unlimited salad, and the house dressing is the best in the area. The family has always worked diligently to provide a family-oriented atmosphere as well as consistent service and quality. The chef and owner, Anthony Rossi, personally makes it a priority to deliver each night; he's always working. The prices are beyond fair for what you get. They have huge portions and are a family style restaurant. They have my favorite dish, angel hair pasta with sundried tomatoes. I get it every time, no fail. They also have amazing eggplant parm that's made with lots of thin layers of eggplant and great house salad dressing! read more

We've been to eat at Rossi's multiple times and the food has never been a disappointment. Their portions are very very large and worth the price. They have gluten free options although they charge an additional price for them. The price is worth the food just a disappointment when you medically can't eat gluten and then there's an extra charge for the food you can eat. I rate the food 5 stars but the service was horrible. It took 45 minutes to get a drink, we never did get a glass of water that I asked for. The table next to us with 8 was served their dinner before we even got our salad. I don't know if they were understaffed with parties happening, too but it took us (2 of us) 3 hours and we weren't sending the waitress away. Chicken: marsala, franchaise, piccata on the menu. protein sizes are seriously undersized and sadly overcooked. the portions were made up by 1 lb side of pasta which was also way overcooked. fillet tasted like it had sat in the fridge for the last week and half and 'livery' the poor lobster had no taste asit as cooked to and overcrisped sponge. service was mediocre and a 20% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. then the receipt still shows a spot for additional tip. will NEVER eat here again read more

In my younger days when the best part of a restaurant was portion size and strapping on the feedbag this was the place to be but the food is average and some things you learn to stay away from. The steak was below average and the gnocchi were grossly over cooked and mushy. The salad comes out like at the olive garden . If you chose to get pasta as one of your sides its as big as most meals! So you have to choose do you want quantity or quality ? The food is not bad nor great it is average. It is also not quiet, the sound echoes off the walls so it could get a bit loud. The service staff is hit or miss. I think its one of those places you have to decide for yourself. read more

I've been to Rossi's a few times and tried different menu items. None of them struck me as truly Italian tasting; i e: red sauce tasted very spicy. On my latest visit I ordered fettuccini Alfredo. The white sauce was very gooey and actually tasted like melted American cheese. In addition, there were whole peppercorns throughout the pasta, making it very "hot" to the taste. On a good note, the salad was fresh and tasty, the bread was very fresh, the service was good, and the restaurant was clean, but if your looking for a true Italian food experience, I would look elsewhere. read more

We have enjoyed many dinners at Rossi's and decided to have a wedding rehearsal dinner there. The private room is beautiful, the staff is excellent--loved our bartenders/waitresses. Chose pizza as an appetizer and it was fantastic. The buffet was great-- everything was fresh, hot and delicious. People were raving about the food for days. It was a great start to our wedding weekend. I would highly recommend for a private party or a nice dinner! We will definitely be going back. read more

First visit to a place I had heard good things about in the past. I was expecting a cozy, possibly romantic dinner in a classic Italian setting. The entry reminds me of a funeral parlor - and the "Let's Make A Deal" door choices was probably a warning that I foolishly ignored. The over sized dining room (vertically) provided for nothing resembling quiet romantic conversation. The service was adequate, although our server had a strange sense of humor that I didn't quite get - seemed like maybe she was hitting the wine during service. As stated in most of the "good" reviews, they give you a pile of food for sure - a flimsy attempt to substitute quality with quantity. C'mon people - a big bowl of box pasta is all it takes to impress you? One thing I can agree with is that the house salad dressing is awesome - we did buy some to take home. Most disappointing was my surf & turf - for some reason they split the bottom of the lobster tail and broiled it tail up (the proper method is to split the back and leave the tail down on the plate) - and too close to the broiler, which resulted in the ends being burnt black and in turn caused everything to taste like burnt dog hair - especially my steak. Being a busy Saturday night, I chose not to return my meal and managed to finish it. The lobster was mediocre and the filet was pretty good despite the burnt flavoring. My GF did find her meal acceptable but nondescript. I had one drink and my GF had 2, with the dressing to go, the total came to $107 with tip. Probably not returning, I am sure there are better values around. read more
