Very good for a special occasion but i don't think I'd make this a regular stop. Filet minon was great. Husband had swordfish, portions are kinda small. We loved the chocolate moose cake for dessert! This martini on the craft cocktails menu had a bit too much oil in it... tasted like straight up olive oil. I'd be interested to see if they switch up the menu. Beautiful decor and interior!

We made reservations for tonight at 6pm. The ambience and vibe was on point. We got sat right away in the glass room. The waitress we had was super nice and attentive. I feel bad but I forgot her name! We ordered the 1880 drink and the old fashion. They both came out delicious. For our appetizer we got the creamy Italian (not great) and main meals we got the honey nut squash ravioli and my fiancé for the short rib ragu. We sat for about 25 - 30 mins waiting for our food. It honestly felt longer but I'm giving an estimate. We both got whiskey sours to kill time and it just tasted like juice. Another waiter came by and randomly asked us to box up our appetizer during our meal which we thought was very strange. We didn't know what to say since we got caught off guard and just said yes to box it up. By the time we got our food, we were starving so we started digging in. We are so disappointed in the quality of it....we wanted to love the place but the food was just not it. 3 stars for the amazing waitress we had!

Filet mignon was cooked properly but was for some reason cut down the middle.

Tons of events and trivia in their schedule for folks looking for a night out on weekdays or weekends. The interior is mildly psychedelic with music. The food was fine. We got the burger and nachos. I was between giving 3 and 4 stars. Service was slow but the venue was busy, there was an event, and the night crew was picking up when we were there. The buffalo chicken nachos were fine. We appreciated the crispiness of the tortilla chips and the excellent cheese sauce that was well-distributed on the chips. There was tomato among other veggies that I do not remember. The chicken was fine for me on a cut. However, it had the texture of boiled chicken which I wasn't a huge fan of. Still had to get my protein in. I really enjoyed the burger. The bun was a soft potato roll. The patty was a little cooler. Between a cold burger and soggy nachos I certainly would choose the cool burger. This was made up for with the large volume of burger that was deliciously crispy. The pickles accompanied the burger with a secret mayo-based burger sauce. If warm, it could be a 5/5 burger. Overall, the experience was fine. I would go here on a week day rather than 6 on Friday, though.

I would say that this is probably the best deep dish pizza that I've tried in a while and I used to live in the Midwest. The crust was super crunchy and very buttery, which is great. You could definitely taste a jar of the cheese on the side and the crispiness of the bottom of the crust not only that, but I felt like the toppings were just amount of flavor. There was onions on there. There was corn on there. It just felt very very hearty. it's definitely heavy dish but it hits a spot if you're looking for a deep dish pizza they did it very well. I would definitely come back for this steep dish pizza and honestly, I could only get through two slices on my own definitely enough for two people to eat comfortably and not that expensive too was 13 bucks

We got the Korean dumplings which were very good with Asian zing sauce on them. We also got their nachos which were soggy towards the bottom but had good flavor with bbq sauce and pulled pork. Now they don't offer pulled pork sandwiches but have pull pork on the nachos. My fish and chips were soooooo salty! The tartar sauce was good and French fries. The breading was also soggy but the fish was very tender and nice. The chicken cheesesteaks were good, filling and yummy. The Ale Burger is a double smash burger with good flavor, and a good meal. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was spicy but enjoyable. The service wasssss slow and not very attentive. The manager had to come over and ask if we needed anything bc our server seemed to disappear. I believe it's new owners which explains the menus cut in half, but I hope they get things together bc this spot is super cool. Speak easy, cool hangout spot.

Really enjoyed a lunch with my family at Ale Mary's after spending a few hours at Steamtown…read more I found parking right up front on the street (lucky, plus the meters were off for the weekend according to staff). The service was slow, but once we were greeted our drinks and food came out quickly. The inside is spacious, it's in an old building dating back to the mid to late 1800's. The high ceilings and metal work inside gives an old industrial feel. The menu had a lot of tasty choices and the beer menu was fantastic. The list of the handhelds/sandwiches is too long to list, but I could have ordered any of them. They have over 100 small and large craft/international beers in bottles or cans and around 20 taps. I had a couple cans of delicious Russian River/WeldWerks collab Convivial which is a hazy imperial IPA. My wife really enjoyed their Buffalo Chicken Flatbread 13.95 - popcorn chicken, house wing sauce, cooper cheese, blue cheese, scallions. It was more than a serving, sizable and fresh. The flavors were balanced and outstanding. I had the Bison Cheesesteak 16.95 - Chipotle bison, pepperjack, bacon chutney, mushrooms, chipotle aioli, toasted hoagie roll. The flavors were balanced, roll was fresh, the serving was large and it was pretty darn good. The meat had a hot dog/pork pate taste. My 5 year old son ordered grilled chicken street tacos 13.95 - Pico de gallo, jalapeno sour cream, queso. Choice of grilled chicken or beef. It came with three and he ate half. We all had a bite and agreed they were fresh, easy to handle and had a delicious mix of flavors, especially the chicken and cheese. My other son had the House Grilled Cheese 9.95 - Boursin, pepperjack, & cooper cheeses on grilled brioche. He enjoyed it, but said it was a little spicy. Although they lacked a "kids menu" my guys found something they enjoyed. The inside was family friendly and they were treated well by the staff. We thought Ale Mary's was a great gastropub and will absolutely repeat when we are back in Scranton. Thanks guys!
