From the parking area the trail radiates in both directions through a small hammock area with ancient cypress, oaks, and cabbage palms. The natural area serves as a floodplain buffer between two neighborhoods in the Tuscawilla community. The trail is maintained by the City of Winter Springs. Bear Creek Nature Trail is narrow and sandy. It runs parallel to Bear Creek. There are changes in elevation which makes it more interesting and you cross two small bridges. When you are high above the creek you have to be cognizant of your footing so that you don't accidentally step off the trail and fall. There are also picnic tables available. The length of the trail is .9 of a mile. Bear Creek Nature Trail was an easy and fun hike and I enjoyed the view of the creek. It also had the added bonus of being mostly shaded and bug free!

The park is surrounded by two sulfur springs of historical significance, one to the east and one to the west that give you the feeling as if you are on a small island. The three acre park has a pavilion with several picnic tables and a grill. Throughout the park are large oak trees covered in moss that provides a shaded canopy from the sun. Around the water's edge are Cyprus trees with their interconnecting roots, also known as Cyprus knees, that stick up out of the ground. As you look out towards the water, you can see a newly reconstructed boardwalk popular with local fisherman. I especially enjoyed the wildlife at the park which is home to osprey, various Florida wading birds, and the alligators of Lake Jessup. This is an especially picturesque and peaceful park with a rich depth of area history.

We skied, and the "lesson" focused more on how to use the simulator than how to ski more advanced. We are at the intermediate level (can parallel ski, control speed and turns, run moguls, etc.), and it seemed like the instructor may specialize in beginner instruction. It was a nice warm-up for our trip, and we each had a takeaway that made us feel like it wasn't a waste; however, I wouldn't spend that money again for the value received.

Secret Lake Park is also home to the recently renovated Casselberry Recreation Center which has a main room, ballroom, billiards room, computer room, outdoor deck area, activity room, and outdoor pavilions. The recreation center offers many programs from youth to senior. They include exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and dance classes. The park is also the host of several beloved Casselberry traditions like the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest, Art & Music in the Park & Food Truck Bazaar, and the Casselberry Easter Egg Hunt. I have been out of the "Reef Tank game" for almost five years. I've had my tank the entire time, I just quit buying anything that wasn't necessary to keep it running. I didn't even change the water for the last 3.5 years. I had a catastrophic loss five years ago that crushed my will to rebuild. My heater controller malfunctioned and stuck on. My dumbass had two 500w titanium tubes in it during the summer, and heated the tank water to 93 degrees before someone saw the cloud of death in the tank. After three consecutive, daily,100 gallon water changes I tried to save what I could but I lost upward of $15k worth of animals. One of my friends owned the LFS so I had some doozies. I always got first look and the tank had irreplaceable corals in it. Only six corals and five fish made it. Sad day man. I didn't even look at it for a long time.... My kids would clean the glass for me every now and then. I couldn't bring myself to break it down or rebuild it. Present day: Only one fish left in the tank so bio load was minimal. I finally did a water change and to everyone's amazement the tank parameters were still dead on. I guess I've gotten good at eyeballing. The six corals that made it are the size of basketballs now. I did a big chop and made a bunch of frags and sold them off locally. Time to buy some new corals and fish!! I have never gotten a shipment of corals that were this well packaged. The water was 77.7 degrees on arrival and the salinity was 1.026. Spot on exactly as my tank. The way they packed it was brilliant. Double bagged individually and in the bags were plastic cups supporting the frag plugs to prevent damage. Everything arrived in excellent condition. I got six corals, and a medium clean up crew of snails and crabs. All alive and zero coral damage to even the most delicate ones. The corals are nothing short of amazing! The colors are better than the pics online. Polyps were extended in minutes after I added them. These guys brought my passion back with this shipment. WYSIWYG is the way to go with these folks man, you will not be disappointed. Buy a lot, you will have no regrets. My next purchase will be a couple "frag packs" to help get restocked. I'll try and get some pics of the new corals in the tank. Blue light makes it hard to get decent pics.

After I had a chance to look around, one of the staff asked me if they could assist me or answer questions. They were able to answer all of my questions, but they didn't have a solution for me and this was no surprise for me. If I were a saltwater enthusiast, I think that I would consider shopping here based upon the location, the variety of supply and the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. For now it is a 4 star because I don't have the experience of purchasing and/or assessing quality of animals or service.

I didn't even know they were located in that plaza. I also didn't know there was a fresh market there is it new? Either way the class was good. It was very relaxing. I almost fell asleep. And I didn't want to get up. They have a bunch of props including this large pillow, that was super comfy. The studio would solve with spacious and clean. Everyone was really nice, helpful and welcoming and I saw that they have a class that you can go with your kids coming up which is pretty cool. I believe my instructors name was Caitlin. I definitely recommend her restore yoga class.

The park is home to The Senator, a large cypress tree that was 3,500 years old (sadly, it was mostly burned down in a fire), and Lady Liberty, aged 2,000 years (to name a few). While the trees themselves are the lure, the park does have some amenities like a playground, public restrooms, and areas to sit down, eat, and relax. The park has raised walkways, and the canopy of overhead tree coverage creates a cool escape from the Florida sun. Just come prepared with some bug spray - the mosquitoes are at play with all the humidity. Also, they have a handful of plaques throughout the park that provide a brief history of the trees and the park itself. All in all, it was a quick little side quest with a nice little history lesson infused. There is a good amount of parking, and it is truly a quiet and peaceful little park. If you are in the area, it's worth the detour.

Big Tree Park is located in a corner of Spring Hamock Preserve. The park is famous for having the…read moreThe Senator, a champion bald cypress that was 3,500 years old. The tree was named for State Senator Moses Overstreet, who owned the land around the tree and donated it to the county in 1927 for use as a park. In 1929, President Calvin Coolidge visited the Senator for the park's dedication. The Senator was a popular tourist stop for many years. The Seminole Tribe of Florida used the tall cypress as a landmark, and in the 1800's sightseers paid for buggy rides through the swamp, then hopped a series of logs to make it to the tree. A boardwalk was added to make it easier to access The Senator. Sadly it burned down in 2012 in an arson fire caused by a drug addict. Visitors to the park can see the remains of The Senator along with some informational signage. Big Tree Park is also home to Lady Liberty, a 2,000 year old historic Bald Cypress, and the Phoenix, a genetic clone of The Senator. While the trees are the real draw to the park it also has a cute playground in the center island, which lets kids play inside a replica of a cypress trunk. There is a picnic pavilion and restrooms if you want to bring a lunch. Big Tree Park is a stop on the Cross Seminole Trail used by cyclists and runners.

I love that there are many options within the trail that helps you customize your experience depending on the time, energy, and desires that you have.
