I have been dealing with Rotech for a few months now. They are the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with!My pulmonologist office had warned me about them and it has been nothing short of a disaster. They have denied receiving faxes after we had a 3 way call with my Drs office and confirmed that they have received the fax while we were on the call.They have not returned calls after they stated that they would call on a certain day to setup an appointment to be fitted for a bi pap machine. Today the manager of the Sarasota office hung up on me when I explained to him that I have had nothing but trouble trying to get my equipment. Horrible company. I had them after having the best that was ABC in Hudson but Medicare dropped them. I don't know how but Rotech screwed up on billing. due to my insurance I am only authorized to use Rotech. I ordered an item that was not covered by my insurance. I have an HSA and to be reimbursed I need an itemized receipt. I'm unable to get a receip, they send spreadsheet, reports but no receipt that meets HSA reimbursement requirement. Rachael Smith has attempted to assist me and was very professional but the other 6 people I've dealt with have been horrible. okay not all but most have been terrible . I attempted to return the item and get a refund but they want to charge an additional $15 restock fee. a restock fee because they can not provide an itemized receipt. Horrible company read more

While traveling through Tampa my relative's portable oxygen concentrator stopped taking a charge and it was going to take 2 days to get a new part. Having been a customer of Rotech where she lived, Rotech staff in Tampa were compassionate, kind and super helpful. They delivered a floor unit to the hotel within an hour or so and offered ideas on how to proceed. The use of the machine up until we could travel again was complimentary so we were not charged. I absolutely DESPISE this company! Problem #1 - They CONSTANTLY call me trying to get me to buy supplies. It is RELENTLESS! They call at least weekly. They call on weekends! They call at dinnertime! I finally blocked their number. Problem #2 I can NOT access my PATIENT PORTAL! I keep getting "access denied - too many attempts. Additional verification needed" BUT their damn website NEVER tells you what verification is needed and how to gain access. Problem #3 They sent me a bill for $54. My wife and I both tried over and over again to find out what the $54 bill was for. Left email messages requesting information - CRICKETS! No response! HOWEVER got a letter threatening COLLECTIONS AGENCY. Our calls and emails for information went unanswered. We could never get online to the "INSTAMED" billing to see or pay the damn bill! After WEEKS of trying to contact someone and finally got thru. Was told they don't have any way to help us get access to INSTAMED to pay. They finally told us the bill was $13. Paid them! AND what did a get for all y troubles you ask! A DAMN collections letter from a debt collector! DO NOT USE THE PEOPLE! FIND ANOTHER SOURCE. This company was the only one my insurance deals with or I'd have gone elsewhere. I was told they only have one brand of walker. It comes in red or blue. I requested blue. I told them NOT to call before 12:00 to let me know what time the delivery would be here. Instead, as I'm getting out of the shower (at 10:45) the delivery driver is knocking at my door. No phone call. He brings in a red one. It's too heavy to pick up and won't go through the doors in my house. He also told me that I get whatever box they open; no choice in color. The driver did show me another model that was smaller and lighter. He was pleasant and professional; willing to help even though it wasn't his job. Still red though. No one at that company volunteered ANY information about the width or weight of the walker. I didn't know to ask. They did not request information about any limitations I might have in using a walker. The woman I talked to was abrupt, rude and snappy. Not the way to talk to anyone let alone someone needing medical supplies. I came away from this experience feeling frustrated and dismissed. read more

This is the worst oxygen company ever. 2 1/2 years later after being on oxygen, they called me to inform me they made a mistake with my insurance (putting my primary as my secondary and my secondary as my primary.) So, they didn't get paid by my insurance. They threatened & tried to come and pickup my oxygen, which is life support and just leave me without any oxygen (because THEY MESSED UP THE ORDER OF THE INSURANCES). After a couple of calls to medicare, they explained to Rotech, they couldn't do this, according to their/rotech's contract with medicare. Oxygen can only be picked up from a patient if a doctor sends them an order to discontinue oxygen. My doctor and I were so dissatisfied with Rotech & their continued threats to pick up and leave me without oxygen, that we decided to change to Aerocare home oxygen. Now these people were amazing. They got the doctors orders, called to notify me that orders were received, and I had my new oxygen equipment setup and ready to go. All within a couple of hours. It was new up to date equipment (not ancient equipment that Rotech had me on.) I would NEVER have myself or a loved one get oxygen or any other services from Rotech. Unless they weres the only company in that town/city. Which means get their services or die. ROTECH OXYGEN WAS THE WORST COMPAY TO DEAL WITH. They will not tell you what any supplies cost before you order -they are unable or un Illini to calculate the price with your insurance....The order department says you have to go through billing and billing says go through the ordering department. They basically want you to order supplies and just wait to get a bill after the fact! I've been able to find supplies must less expensively by just ordering on Amazon. I dumped this company for a small local company and 6 months later found out that RoTech bought the local place. Worst, worst, worst oxygen company to deal with. Our doctor ordered oxygen the day before Christmas....they are FINALLY coming to deliver it and it is January 16. First excuse was it was Doctor's fault, then they admitted it was their mistake, then tried to charge because they did not have our insurance straight, etc., etc. And, on top of it all, they - especially someone named Amanda - are rude and unprofessional. One time I had to go get my own oxygen and they made my granddaughter a child go in and carry everything out! My doctor finally filed a complaint with the insurance co. and they were nice for a few months. Now again I am told it is not 12 weeks and they will not deliver oxygen. This is the worst company to deal with and I can not imagine how they are still in business. Unfortunately the sleep study company black stone sent them my prescription for a cpap with the wrong doctors name. Since then I've been on the phone every other day trying to get them to correct the doctors name so they can send the requests to the correct place. Although they assured me they now have the correct doctor, they didn't change the phone and fax numbers. Melissa at Rotech claims she spoke with my doctors office, and faxed 2 requests for orders, but didn't get the name of who she spoke to. There's only one person at my doctors office and she says she hasn't received any phone calls or fax from them at all. Meanwhile I was prescribed the machine 2 months ago and still have nothing. People have died from not having cpap machines. Do not leave your health in the incompetent hands at Rotech, just saying I think it would be easier at this point to start all over except my insurance company isn't going to foot the bill for another sleep study. read more
