Good roast chicken. Decent samosas, rice, cheese naans and assorted stuff when you can't be effed to cook...

And then, there's the friendly people, always smiling and making you more of a fan of Cantine. I've eaten veggie burgers across Paris, and this place figures in the top three. It's a must visit, and the Cantine at Marche St Honoré has become more than a weekly affair. To sum up, the food and the people remind you of your close friends, and puts you in a comfort zone.

I was not disappointed. The pair that own the food truck were super friendly and helpful and enthusiastic about our enthusiasm. It was great. I got the Half Moon Bay Burger: Roquefort, blackened red peppers, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and of course a special sauce. The burger was done right, had enough fat so it wasn't dry and nasty and the bun was substantial and delicious. Oh, did I mention they offer SWEET POTATO FRIES? This is so uniquely American so obviously I got them. And they were spot on. To end the lunch I had a red velvet cupcake, that they gladly replaced for me when I received it, covered in walnuts (I'm allergic). The cupcake itself was a perfect level of moistness, and the frosting. Oh the frosting. Not cloyingly sweet, and had the perfect amount of cream cheese. I cannot wait to head back here for their blueberry pancakes/bacon combo some morning. (They have bottles and bottles of REAL maple syrup at your disposal...not to mention plentiful amounts of Heinz ketchup and HOT SAUCE. And some sort of caramel for their French toast.) I love all food that comes from a truck, but this place was especially endearing. ENORRMEE coup de coeur!!

He had pizza with lamb sausage, in Paris they put an egg on pizza...sounds weird but oh my was it good. I tried a piece of this and it was incredible. I had a fixed lunch menu, so I had escargot, which was buttery and yummy. My steak was really good nothing out of this world but I had no complaints. For dessert it came with a Nutella crepe...as far as American standard I loved it!!! We had house wine and beer with our lunch, and both were quite good. Our espresso was also good. Our service was good, so while it wasn't amazing we left very happy.

Our waiter kept us waiting (no pun intended), as he was behind the bar pouring himself vodka and going on Facebook. When he finally arrived at our table, he smelled like alcohol and touched my girlfriend's arm in an unwelcome manner as she was ordering. We left shortly thereafter.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

As a Chinese, I understood more than 50% of the conservations (Chinese). Which doesn't mean anything about the food. Just observation. Onion soup - 2 stars. First, the cheese failed to emit the baked, melted gruyere cheese, there is no aroma at all. I don't think they used gruyere cheese. May be mozzarella cheese. The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.
