Yesterday, February 3rd,2018 we had to make an emergency call to Roto-Rooter in the late morning because we had sewer back up water in the basement washroom and the toilets did not flush. We were told by a very friendly lady that the Roto-Rooter Technician will be at our place between 4 and 6 PM the same day. The van pulled up shortly after 4PM and we were informed that our problem had been caused by roots in the outdoor sewer pipes. The Technician, his name was Quentin, brought all the necessary equipment into the basement and proceeded with his work. Quentin was friendly, had very nice manners and was extremely helpful. 45 minutes later the problem was solved and Quentin said that he fed the rooter line 95 feet out and did it twice. He then proceeded with showing me the roots that had caused the problem and made me feel good with the show and tell. Good job Quentin ! When it came time to pay the bill I jokingly said to Quentin that this whole thing should have happen on a weekday so would not have to pay the weekend emergency charges and I was informed that the prices are always the same. WOW. Not very often heard in the service industry. I also felt that the price was reasonable and the whole episode was handled in a friendly and professional very efficient way. We recently had our kitchen sink plug up completely, no draining at all, and it was a first so we didn't know who to call. Roto-rooter Plumbing was a name we had heard before so we though we would call them. (It's just me and my mom at the house so we weren't sure what to do). They were busy and ran late but always kept us informed of their timing and were very apologetic. When the guy got to our home he was very friendly, asked questions so he would have all the information in order to fix the problem, and he let us know exactly what the issue was once he figured it out. It took about an hour and a half, but the drain was cleared and it drains better than ever actually. He cleaned up any mess that had been made, and even told me about a product that they sell that could prevent any future clogging problems, which we did not buy at the time but will probably go to their location to purchase. It's incredibly rare to have good customer service these days but my experience was very good with this company and the specific people we dealt with. The cost is a little high but you get what you pay for so I didn't mind paying it. The job was done and I couldn't be happier. read more

My wife recently purchased an older home and in this market it is a gamble with what you purchase. We started to notice some leaking in the basement below the bathroom but it would only happen occasionally. However recently it was much more severe and water was spraying everywhere. I contacted Roto-Rooter and they had someone come out the very next afternoon. The first repair man came out and we could not recreate the issue. He suggested it could be a clog somewhere in the main pipe but he did not want to check the line. He resealed the toilet where the water backed up and leaked and it was okay for 1 day. It seemed the seal just caused it to back up in the toilet and other areas. So I contacted Roto-Rooter again and someone was able to come out the very same day. Jesse the next employee came out and immediately knew it was the main line that had to be checked. He cleared the clog/blockage and everything is working like it should be. Called Roto Rooter to clear the main line to the city sewer. Technician was punctual, polite and well prepared. Cleared the main line fairly quickly and noted some difficulties at 6 feet, 40 feet and 75 feet from the house. Recommended that we camera the line. His truck was not equipped with a camera but he came back the next day (his day off) to camera the line. Only charged me as an add on to the original service. Found there was a significant dip in the line, took a video and referred the issue to his supervisor. Supervisor called back the next day with recommendations ranging from chemical treatments for roots and debris, scheduled annual clean-outs to excavation. Supervisor explained each option in detail including the potential costs and benefits. Ultimately left the decision in my hands with no pressure or scare tactics. Excellent service overall. Would definitely recommend Rotorooter again. read more

We just arrived home around 6:00 p.m. on December 31st from vacation to a clogged toilet. After a couple of hours with the plunger I decided to call Roto-Rooter. To my surprise a technician called back within 15 minutes and was able to come out that night. The other companies we called all had next day service only. To me 24/7 means right now..today when we need you ! Being a one bathroom house this was urgent for us. Our service tech was very pleasant and had the drain cleared within 30 minutes. Hats off to Eric. He cleaned up the mess and was on his way before midnight so we could at least bring in the new year with the ability to flush the toilet. Thanks again Roto-Rooter and Eric for coming to the rescue. We will be using them again in the spring to clean out the main line to the street and I would strongly recommend them to anyone in need. read more

I live in the River Heights area of Winnipeg and from the moment I called them to the time I received my bill the service was excellent and professional. I had called a few placed and Roto-Rooter was the only one who offered to come to my house for a free estimate. I had an appointment set up on a Thursday morning and our plumber, Andrew, arrived on time and ready to go. He quickly assessed the damage (I had done...), gave an estimate (it's a flat rate really) and had the pipe replaced and the frost free faucet installed in no time. No surprises on the bill and I even got a call back from a Carly a week later asking me if the fix went well and if there were any complications, feedback, etc... had a clog that we have been trying to get free but was unsuccessful. Called Roto-Rooter late on Tuesday and they said they could send someone out the next morning but due to our work schedule, asked if someone could come in the late afternoon between 4 and 6 instead. Andy came out today (Wednesday) and was 1/2 hour early, which was great. He quickly assessed the situation, hooked up his equipment and cleared the clog in no time. All of our drains are running like new and we are very thankful. Andy recommended a non caustic drain cleaner so we can keep on top on any situation in the future. Just had Roto Rooter come by and clear my main drain line to the city sewer line. Jesse K was my technician. The service was excellent, on-time, professional, polite and informative. Jesse also completed the work on time (within the initial service call time) and it was a lone line given the long front yard. He also did some additional work as requested clearing out the drains that feed my weeping tiles. He also offered some other good suggestions for future preventative maintenance that may come in handy or just be needed soon, which also increased my knowledge of the house drainage and plumbing system. Where I live, the area and the type of the house (slab house) combined mean that I need an annual visit to clean tree roots out of the drains. I had a return technician yesterday - the same one who had done them last November (Daniel), and he was great!! He did a great job last year (and spent extra time to do so), and I expect that this year's visit has yielded the same results (which means hopefully close to a year before I need to call them again!!). (The only downside is that they are fairly expensive - but I don't know that they are any more expensive than any other company that offers similar services.) Thank you!!! read more

I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter! We recently had tub and toilet drainage issues and tree roots were suspected to be the problem. Setting up a same day appointment was easy and fit our schedule. They even called to see if they could come earlier which was perfect. The technician arrived on time. When asking questions of the Tech we found him very informational and professional. Not knowing enough about home plumbing the Tech gave simple yet knowledgeable info regarding our problem (yup, tree roots). He cleared the roots and things were working perfectly again. Our first time using Roto-Rooter and we will now be using them as our first call, as we require these services almost every year. We hired another company earlier and they had said the line must be collapsed, we needed to wait until Monday (it was Saturday) to get a camera in. We called RotoRooter that evening and booked an appointment for the next morning (Sunday) between 8&10:00am. The arrived by 8:30 and were done before 10am. They had the camera but must have worked harder than the first company, as they removed all the roots and confirmed no collapse in the line. The tech was friendly and efficient. read more

We had a blockage in our main drain from the kitchen that was backing up into our laundry basin, Roto rooter was very professional and kept me in the loop of what was going on. Anthony was fantastic and did a quick and excellent job and made sure all the water was draining again! With four kids my house can get a little chaotic but he didn't mind telling the kids what he was doing and showing them which was pretty cool for them! Thank you so much! The dreaded plugged sewer drain.....in January..... Called up Roto-Rooter and spoke with Lauren (super friendly and helpful). She had one of the plumbers (Justin) call me back within a couple of hours and the was basically able to identify what the most likely problems was. Got an appointment for the next day. Eric came out and spent 2 hours cleaning out tree roots and other icky stuff.....brave man! Excellent service! Friendly people! They know what they are doing and get the job done. I had a backed up drain in my basement and couldn't do my laundry. Never had a problem like this before and didn't know what to do.. Called Roto-Rooter and their technician , Andy , came out. Very friendly , knowledgable and spoke to me as an equal. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and why he was doing it. The drain was cleared in no time at all. Laundry here I come! I called Rotor Rooter and was able to get an appointment time the next day so I wouldn't need to miss work. No extra cost to come in the evening, Kevin came and assessed the slow drain. He explained the process very well. He was professional, friendly and efficient. He cleaned up when he was done. The one thing I would have appreciated was to know the base cost when I called. They said the tech would do a free estimate before starting but I would have appreciated knowing the base price for the 1st hour to come in the door. I recently had Roto-Rooter out to replace my outside fawcett that was broken off by my snow clearing people. I was very pleased with my experience from the receptionist who was very helpful to the timeliness of the plumber. I was given a 2 hour period of when the plumber would be onsite and he was very prompt. He explained how billing for the job was calculated and then proceeded to complete the work faster than I had anticipated. He then went over what he had done. We had some issues with our garburator on the Friday afternoon/evening, and ended up having three companies come by. Roto-rooter was the last one, but next time they will absolutely be the first! Jason was the plumber who showed up, with his apprentice Dakota. They took out the garburator (which we decided on after plumber #2 left) and put in a regular pipe, tightened up the faucet, and after that was said and done, we talked about future work to be done in the bathrooms.
