The company I regularly used for pump outs was too busy/not interested. I called Mulyca, they came out, installed the chimney, pumped me down and charged a reasonable price. I've used them ever since. Usually I have my system pumped in the spring or fall. This year, in the height of the dry weather, they noticed my grass was dying past what I thought was the end of the tank. They suggested I might have a graywater tank that i didn't know about, and since the system is 13 years old, recommended that I should have it also pumped. We dug up the dry grass, and sure enough, there was a chamber there that I didn't know about, and it was getting solids built up. Pumping this out probably will extend the life of the system, especially now that I am aware of a maintenance requirement. They pumped out the graywater chamber as well in a visit that ended up lasting 2 hours (locating, then freeing up the chamber lid which was stubborn, having been in place for 13 years). They only charged me the normal price for a pump out. All of this on a Saturday morning. I'm a consulting engineer, so when it comes to recognizing competence in building mechanical systems, I know what to look for. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a septic service company.

In the meantime I am using a potty seat for the disabled and have a portable septic tank to empty the pail into which is working out fine now in the meantime until spring comes.
