When the car arrived it had major mechanical issues that were never disclosed by John - broken transmission, blown engine, non-op windows and locks, etc. etc. Complete junk. We were seconds away from signing paperwork for a car, however..........We sat down and there was a $249.00 Doc Fee. We had agreed to the price of the vehicle, but not the additional $249.00. When we asked for this fee to be removed, Stan said "too bad." It's not that he said too bad, it's that he LIED about what the Doc Fee was for. He didn't lie once, but 2 times. First he stated that the Doc Fee was charged to all of his customers. Ok. Sounds Ligit. You make all your customers pay an extra $249.00. But here come the lies.......He said that dealers are REQUIRED BY LAW in OHIO to charge this $249.00 fee. Actually STAN, it's not he law. The State of Ohio has AUTHORIZED licensed dealerships to charge a doc service fee for transactions not to exceed $250.00. Authorized is much different than required by law. Second lie you ask? Well, he stated that the $249.00 goes into a consumer protection fund for the benefit of buyers. Where's my protection from Stan? After this, we decided to take matters of protection into the hands of our own bad-selves and walked the H*&^ out. If you're wondering what the Doc Fee is truly for, it's pure profit for dealerships.
