This dealership is shady!!! Buyer beware. My boyfriend had no credit history and his score was 0...so he was surprised when they found a bank to finance him. After signing the contract on 11/14/19, They let us take the car home even though the financing hadn't went through yet. 4 days later they asked us to come back and sign a new contract because the bank changed the terms of the agreement. On 11/20, I put up a bad review on google. They actually got pissed and called my boyfriend to threaten him. They said that if I didn't take the bad review down and give them 5 stars, then they would take the car back. I swear that crap has to be illegal! It is now 11/21 and the financing still has not been approved yet. They are super shady and unorganized. And I didn't appreciate how long we had to wait. When you 1st walk through the door you have to wait a long time before someone even acknowledges you. I do not recommend this place and will NEVER purchase anything else from them. Also they never disclosed the body damage on the car. It had a big dent in the car plus scratches on the bumper. They claimed they knew nothing a out it and refused to fix it. read more

The fact that I just had to give this company 1 star just pissed me off. Never ever buy a car from here and do not trust the mechanic either. Transmission went out with in 2 weeks of purchase car wouldn't even go in reverse. Everyone at this dealership works together to save each others behind. The lie and steal. They'll tell you to pay down payment put don't even put it towards the price of the vehicle. No one will give you a contact number for the owner, all they ever say when you ask for the owner is they have no way to contact him and he never comes in. One guy told me they don't have a owner. I bought a 2016 Chevy cruze from them in May of 2017. Found out its been in an accident. Its been in a service center 4 times and still running hot. It has a chevy manufacturers warranty on it. But its void because it was in an accident way before i bought it. I cant drive to work. It runs Hot. Capitol one is financing me they say they cant do nothing about they sold me a lemon. They were suppose to take my car to homewood chevy to get it fixed. They lied. Its still running hot. The Chevy company is not honoring there manufacturers warranty Its been to Ron westphal of Aurora Il they wont fix it nor will they give me something in writing saying its been in an accident. If I could give this place -10 stars I would this is the absolute worst car buying experience I've ever dealt with in my life. The stress of dealing with this place literally caused me to have a STROKE!!!! Do to all the mental anguish, pain and suffering. On March 11,2023 I came into the car lot in hopes of buying a reliable used vehicle. I was met but a rude man by the name of Kenny. I should've followed my first mind and left. Then the finance manager Also name Kenny told me to stay that he would give me a good deal. He sold me a 2015 Chrysler 200 with 75,200 miles on it he said the car was in perfect condition and he threw in warranty that would cover everything bump to bumper . (which was a lie) Kenny also told me that I would be able to take my car to any Chrysler dealership for repairs that would be covered under the warranty that he sold me. The same day that I purchased my vehicle March 11, 2023 4 hours later all of the lights in my dashboard came on engine, low, tire pressure, headlight just to name a few. I took the car back to the dealership on four different occasions each time I took the car back. They kept resetting the engine light telling me that nothing was wrong with the car. When I finally took the car to a Chrysler dealership, it had so many colds and so many things wrong with the car. The most concerning was the catalytic converter and also I called saying that the car was gonna say because the computer in the car was not communicating with the car, steering system, making it on site for the car to drive. To make matters worse the warranty c company told me that they would not work with any Chrysler dealerships. Not only that they told me that they couldn't tell me what repair shops they could work with. They would only be able to tell me what repair shops they wouldn't work with so now I'm stuck with a vehicle that I can't drive paying almost a $600 car note buyers beware do not ever purchased a vehicle from them. I'm a single mother and I'm a schoolteacher that fell on hard times. All the stress caused me to have a mild stroke. I'm writing to you now in my hospital bed. The only reason I am being generous with giving 2 stars is because I love my vehicle that I purchased at Route 6 auto max. It's a nightmare, otherwise! After having to make the long drive there to pick up my vehicle (after had already signed the financing paperwork) I drove home, when suddenly the car started to make the loudest noise! It was shaking and continued to get worse the whole hour drive! Had it checked the following day at a local shop- the tire was about to fall off- they said the nuts were finger tight! I literally could have been dead! I had to replace the tire. They did reimburse me for that though. Next- detailing my car. Never happened. Although they said they would. There was so much nasty ness in the cup holders and in the leather interior.. thanks anyway. Finally- they never submitted the request for my plates with the BMV! I've been promised, reassured... you name it! Still - I am driving illegally on an expired temporary plate- praying that they actually come through and resolve this! How stressful- unprofessional and broken promises. Route 6 auto is one place to avoid purchasing a vehicle the cars are auction repos and have no business being purchased they target Aferican Americans and Put GPS tracking devices to repo them after a few weeks of late payements the cars i seen in service spent more time in the repair than on the road the warenty is totally a rip off the management cancill's the warnetee if the cars breakdown more than they pay out without the customers knowledge because the car was a lemon and leave the customer holding the bag so they have to make payements on a car that don't run do your self a favor and miss this place i am suprised i am the only person who has ritten a riview read more

We purchased a vehicle from them back in April 2019 - as of now June 22 2019 they still have NOT paid off the loan on the vehicle that was traded in. When I contacted them they gave me the run around about taking 10 days. Going on 60 days and still not paid off. Now I have derogatory remarks on my credit because of this POS place. Low Lifes! I bought a vehicle from this place and had to replace the 2 front tires within the first few weeks because there was glass stuck in them. I should have taken that as a warning of what was to come.....3 months later I received notice I was in collections because Route 6 Automax did not pay off the loan of the car I traded in to them. I had to call them almost everyday for 6 weeks to get the issue resolved while never receiving a call back, followed by writing several letters to various credit bureau's to clear my credit. A few months after that, the check engine light came on in the car so I took it back as I purchased a warranty with the car. Over the next year I had to take the car back to Route 6 Automax a dozen times to fix the issue but it was never fixed and now had additional warning lights coming on. I spoke to sales to explain all of the issues I had with the dealership/vehicle and they just tried to sell me another high priced car. I left and took the car straight to a new car dealership and traded it in. This place is run by a bunch of amateurs. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do everything in your power to avoid buying from Route 6 Automax and DO NOT make the mistake I did by disregarding the bad reviews that you see. I purchased a Range Rover from this dealership in December and on the drive home the transmission light came on. After taking in to a mechanic, I found out the car needed an entirely new transmission, costing $19,000. After an endless, exhausting fight with the dealership, several hang-ups, being put on hold for several minutes on end to never have my call taken, cussed at by their employees numerous times, and dealing with Ed Fons who was VERY unprofessional in how he handled business for being a manager, we finally got them to agree to return the vehicle. However, it took them two months to pay off the loan they opened on the vehicle and they STILL owe me $165 for the diagnostic testing for their vehicle they made me take in to get scanned to find out what was wrong with it, even after promising through text, phone calls, and email documentation that they would reimburse me. It was all lies. I have never dealt with such a shady, dishonest, unprofessional dealership. It took me getting the state involved, the BBB, and the financing company itself to come to a resolution.
