I had a horrible interaction with the proclaimed owner, a young Argentinian male who proceeded to verbally abuse me by threatening me, Harass me, insult me, intimidate me and use of profanity. He called me names and was extremely violent and aggressive. Regardless of the circumstances, and after attempts of deescalation, I called Code Compliance because I feared for my safety. He also took pictures of my vehicle and license plate without my consent. I am concerned that he will retaliate therefore I reported his business with the Police. He violated my rights to be treated with respect and dignity and if any harm should ever come to me or my property, I will take every legal action available against him. read more

Where are the adults? The father ran this place with excellent service and always had a smile on his face. He left for vacation towards the end of the year and hasn't been back. His son is running the business now and it has really gone down hill. He has a pit bull running around without a leash on. He is hardly ever on the premises, he goes into the barber shop to hang out. The price changes every time, ranging from $35-$45, whatever he feels like. He never makes small talk like the father would and has a mean look about him. Today was the final straw, he was hitting on a good looking customer who has her Porsche pulled up blocking me and another customer from exiting. After 5 min I step out of my vehicle and ask if they can pull it up into the open ports or move it out into the street. He did not like me interrupting his game. I was given a mean look and he ignored me, when I asked again, he said shut up and wait. 3 min later she finally left, without getting her car washed. He then came over to my car and smacked my window (marking my clean window with a handprint) and said this is my carwash, you are never welcome back here again. I wasn't planning on giving my money to this guy anymore anyways. read more

I wanted my car to be detailed. the car is older but was relatively clean. I just want a good detail. The told me the price was $300. I dd not negotiate, I just wanted a good job. When I picked up the car they told me $330, which I did not pay the extra $30. The job i received was not worth the $300 at all. Many parts of the car was completed untouched. I went back the next day and was not at all pleased with the response. This place is a RIpOFF. if you do go there and pay, pay with a credit card so you will have some sort of option. The one star is because the manager, Jorge, is somewhat personable. BUT I just paid $40 for a wash and the dirt and dust is still on my car. I pointed it out and showed him. Right in front of him I demonstrated how easily it came off just using my finger. I asked if they used a rag or just hosed the car down. He claims they washed it with soap and a rag. I do not think so. I could have gone to a drive through car wash and my car would look cleaner. Total waste. There was a small spot of coffee on my center consul. Which easily comes off with a paper towel and water, but they couldn't even do that. It was still there when I got my car back. Manager claimed my car needs a was for $150. Maybe it does. $45 premium car wash and it comes out with water spots and dirt swirls all over the automobile. Looks like it was sprayed with water and then sat in the sun. Very disappointed as we have taken our cars here several times before and this has not been the case. Not sure what caused the downgrade in service but unfortunately it's here. I decided to ignore some of these negative comments mainly because my mechanic is the mechanic next to this car wash "Larry's Auto" and they recommended Route 66 car wash. I'm not wealthy, nor do I own some luxury exotic car. But I try to take care of my Eleanor (Greek for bright and shining one). When you're a South Beach street parker like myself, you're bound to attract the black plague. Otherwise known as the dark, granular filmy stuff that covers your car; a healthy mix of asphalt, tree droppings, bird presents, and whatever else your neighborhood kicks up. So, on the rare occasion that I decide my car's worth it, I give her a bath. On this particular Friday afternoon, I stopped by the other South Beach car wash spot on 18th to find a line out to the street, and then to the simple gas station solution right around the corner to find a similar onslaught. Come on, Yelp, give me one more. And Yelp did. Up 18th street and to the right on Bay lives Route 66, a most inconspicuous and petite car washerie. I left my VW in the hands of the attendent who quickly and pleasantly greeted me and as my wheels rode into the sprays of paradise, I walked inside to find my own kind of heaven. Pastelitos, cafe con leche, and a can't-be-beat breakfast special (2 eggs, bacon, french bread and coffee for $5). After I ordered the special, I took a seat at the red picnic table out front and chatted with the disgruntled 80-year-old who'd just popped by for his dose of conversation. As far as a quick and friendly local car bath is concerned, Route 66 definitely washes up on the right side of the shore. read more

$100 later and my jeep is still dirty (I will upload pictures). They tried to charge me an extra $10 because its an SUV- it's a wrangler! There is less interior than most cars! My husband had been here two months prior with a four-runner and they didn't charge him extra. They also decided that it was a good idea to put by refillable plastic water bottle upside down in the console. Water leaked all over the contents of the console, including onto electronic equipment. They ended up not charging us extra after a persuasive argument in by my husband stating that they didn't want to lose our business. How much is there really to say about a car wash? Either they wash your car well, or they don't. My car is only 2 months old, and doesn't need much done to it (I'm not traversing in mud on weekends). Each time I have gone to Route 66 I have gotten the regular wash and my car has gotten a regular wash. Why the 3 stars? Well, the customer service isn't the best. The workers have never been particularly friendly to me. Also, the first time I left my car I was kinda lost as to where I was supposed to pay, wait, and about how long it would take. Most importantly, I find the car was to be a bit expensive for what exactly they have been doing to my car. My car has never been very dirty, but I wanted to take it in for a bit of a touch up and the price for a small SUV is ridiculous. That being said, there aren't many options on Miami Beach for a hand car wash so I can't really complain. read more

You know you are in the right place when you see 6 different BMW M Series and a Maserati waiting to be washed at a location. With that said, they do an excellent job at washing your car and it doesn't matter how busy they are the wait is always short. Never miss a spot. Highly recommend it... Do not go here, they were tasked only with removing the love bugs off the car. I explicitly describe what I wanted a 3x3 foot area cleaned free of bugs. they didnt do it at all. wings were all over it and when I got home a little spray cleaner and attention to detail to each bug and they were gone. sand left in the car and didnt clean off the brake dust from the rims. THE WORST CARWASH in MIAMI BEACH, no in florida for that matter. Very disappointing and awful experience. I paid $280 to have my truck "detailed" and got a crappy interior vacuum plus exterior wash and wax. I wish I would have paid their $30 price for their wash and vacuum because it feels that is the service I received at almost ten times the price. I agreed to pay an outrageous $280 because I had a scratch in my paint and was offered this price to fill the scratch with a touchup stick and buff with a full detail (I paid additional for the touchup stick). These guys then painted a 1 1/2 inch stripe across a milimeter wide scratch (like a 2 year old coloring way outside the lines), and when this looked worse than the scratch itself, they wiped it off taking some extra paint with it - which made it look WORSE than before they "detailed' it. My truck was pretty dirty when I brought it to them and it seems they thought I would simply be happy if they just vacuumed and washed it (for $280!!!). Please thing again Route 66 - I am grossly disatisfied!!! The interior "detailing" was just plain awful. The owner played this game and asked that I drag him around my truck and point out every unclean area, then he took a rag and washed it. He failed to realize that if I have to go to every unclean area of my truck myself I mise well wash it myself!!! This went on for HALF AN HOUR, before I told him this was unacceptable, clearly not "clean", and needed to be cleaned prior to returning the vehicle to me as a "detailed" truck. They hadn't even wiped or washed the plastic over the odometer yet gave me the truck as "detailed". I still have crud on the top of my windows because they never rolled down my windows to wash them for a TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLAR "detailed" cleaning!!! When I tried to express my disatisfaction, the owner tried to claim all of a sudden that he didn't speak English. His English was perfect however when he told me he was going to give me a "special price" and went on to justify his costs and setup his sale! I had also dropped it off around 1 pm and was told it would be ready around 6 pm. The owner said it would take HOURS to clean (to again justify his price), but when I stopped by around 430 pm they had just started on my vehicle - TOTAL SCAM on suggesting the effort they will expell on several hundred dollars of service. The rear of my truck had open compartments where none of the minor contents were removed to clean the plastic inside. They was a food wrapper left under the seat and crumbs all around the steel of the chairs on the floor, I swear a six year old would have done a better job. This place has a lot of nice cars in it which gave me further confidence to spend several hundred dollars here and everyone was very nice, including the owner. However, when it comes to "detailing" and spending hundreds of dollars cleaning, this place is COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT AND PLAYS GAMES to avoid doing the job they are paid to do, and in my case, my vehicle was returned with greater paint damage because of their botch job. I couldn't be more disatisifed, and I hope somone who speaks excellent Spanish "translates" this for the owner so that he clearly understands this type of "job" is unacceptable. read more

I would give them zero stars, if that was a choice. I took my car in 3 times. First time they had put circular scratches on the hood, like the rag was dirty. They denied it. I keep very good care of my car and notice everything. Second time the wash was just ok. The third time they damaged my front quarter panel and edge of hood. Not only did they deny it, the bald headed manager started yelling at me??? The paint was peeling off the accident area and this guy is yelling at me saying it didn't happen there. Frankly, I am puzzled by the number of less than 5-star reviews for this small, friendly, and extremely careful and thorough Miami Beach hand car wash. My own extensive experience is very much to the contrary. I have taken our two cars here regularly for years, and am always treated well. Virtually always, the work is perfect, and I mean "perfect" in its literal sense, not in its current "ok" iteration. This includes, in addition to the car body, wheels, tires, and the inside surface of windows; the latter frequently overlooked in so many other car washes. And in the very rare instances where a spot had been missed, asking for a redo has always been responded to quickly, thoroughly, and with an apology. As for quality, the number of exotic cars (not mine, unfortunately) being washed here routinely is astounding, which would not be the case were the general experience negative. So I would encourage those who need a Miami Beach car wash to give Route 66 a try. A car wash is not a major investment, and even fussy people should be more than satisfied. read more

What really sucks is that I've been bringing my Maserati here for about 4 years and been pretty happy with the wash and had a cordial relationship with management and the owner. Wednesday 3/25 I pull up and the familiar management isn't present. Some punk kid walks up and asks me what type of wash I want. Just by how he carried himself I knew he was a douche. Anyways, I run to the grocery store and when i get back I start looking over the car I keep noticing all the spots they missed. I grab that kid because he appears to be in charge and I proceed to tell him, hey I've been coming here for years and usually you guys do a great job but today it's crap. However, today was my last time for the following reasons: I drove in and asked for a regular basic wash (price posted $15). I go in to pay and the owner charges an extra $5 to my credit card for a "deluxe wash" b/c "you had bugs on your front bumper." He never said a word to me when I pulled in about the extra cost. He refused to issue me a refund and told me that "I must pay." Unbelievable rudeness and a total lack of customer service. To make matters worse, the wheels were still very dirty, and their disgusting towels left streak marks and swirls all over my car. They also did a shabby vacuuming job.
